My mother has been a resident at Orchard Manor View for several years and I have to thank the management and all the staff for making those years the most wonderful for her. In fact, I would go as far as to say that I don't think my mother would be with us now if it wasn't for the dedication, the care, the professionalism, and most of all the love that the staff extend to every single resident. When my mother first went there, I was told by the owners that when they designed Orchard Manor View and created the ethos surrounding it, they thought it must not only meet the physical and well being needs of the residents, but that every resident would be treated as if they were family - And I see on a day-to-day basis that that is exactly what happens. All the staff go above and beyond to ensure that each and every resident is "family" and cared for on every level - from her amazing room, to the fabulous food to the dedication, care and love given to her I can't thank them enough

My mother moved into Orchard Manor View almost 3 years ago. I was initially concerned how she would get on, as she had lived alone for over 30 years and didn't like to mix with lots of people. The care home is an ideal size for her, not overwhelming, and she gets on well with many of the other residents. It is very clean and fresh (I even heard this one day from a visiting ambulance team). Although my mother has limited mobility, she joins in the many activities: artwork, exercise, bingo, dominoes and helping in the garden (to name a few). They often have visiting entertainers. The food is excellent and the cook bakes very impressive birthday cakes for the residents. We have an excellent relationship with the management team who always act very professionally. The staff seem very friendly and helpful whenever we visit. There doesn't seem to be a problem getting a doctor to visit if required. Having had a little experience of other places, I am very pleased that I chose this care home.

I am astounded to read in recent reviews the damning comments regarding Orchard Manor View. My mum has been a resident at this lovely home for nearly three years. I cannot fault the care she has received during that time. When I visit mum I leave content knowing that she is in safe hands. I can read my mum and know if she is not happy and on the rare occasion that I raised a concern/issue it was resolved quickly. The home is spotless and furnishings etc are of good quality and taste. Mum has always had a good appetite and mostly her needs have been met regarding her diet, she only complained on the odd occasion if the meal was something she didn't like in which case the cook was happy to offer an alternative. I would say from my observations that my mum and other residents are treated with love, care and dignity and the staff are more like family. My mum is at the latter stage of her life and I have been overwhelmed by the love I have witnessed from the staff for my mum. Thank you x

My Sister moved to Orchard Manor View this year. The dedication, care and professionalism of all the staff, is apparent in every aspect of the care home's day to day running. This wonderful care home and its amazing team have truly transformed my Sister's life. It gives me such peace of mind to know that my Sister is being cared for in such a wonderful environment.

My mother has been a resident here for approximately three years. For all of this time the staff have been very pleasant giving constant support and care. The home is kept spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. At meal times there is a varied choice of good quality food made on site. During the day many activities are available to amuse the residents. Finally, my mothers medication is provided daily by a trained member of staff. Yes she's very well looked after.

Dreadful experience for Mum with Dementia. OMV however, advertise themselves as specialists in Altzhiemers and Dementia. There is a definite lack of compassion/knowledge and skill, in relation to supporting residents with Dementia. We were regularly informed of Mums 'aggressive behaviour' as if she was a naughty child. When in hospital, Mum was described as 'a delight'. They noted Mum was 'occasionally 'agitated during personal care'. However, in several weeks of 1-1 support, there was no report of 'aggressive behaviour' at all from the hospital. When Mum returned to OMV, we were immediately informed of Mums 'aggressive behaviour' again!

My experience of Orchard Manor View did not live up to the expectations set by the web site. The home is clean and tidy but both old and tired in terms of facilities and decor. In the main staff were helpful, but the management were both evasive and disorganised. My mother in law has advanced dementia and the way she was spoken about was a kin to describing a naughty child. They lacked both empathy and understanding of her situation and did not demonstrate the type of skill you would expect of a home advertising themselves as experts in advanced and complex dementia. There was a general sense of defensiveness demonstrated by management when questions were asked about on going health issues and wouldn't recommend this home for anyone you love.

Orchard Manor View describe themselves on their website as "experts in advanced/complex dementia." Sadly, from our family's experience with our Mum this claim could not be further from the truth. Time and again, we were told of Mum's so-called "aggressive behaviour," but what we actually witnessed was a lack of empathy, compassion, and true understanding of dementia from the management. Mum relies on walking aids, yet these were taken away at one point because she had supposedly "attacked staff." Her Doll was also taken away from her as Mum apparently "weaponised" it!!!!! My mother is a very frail elderly lady weighing just over 7 stone, with arthritis, two hip replacements, and a serious heart condition (she has already undergone a triple heart bypass). Removing her walking aids left her vulnerable and struggling to move around. This was heartbreaking to witness!! The home itself is extremely basic, despite their NEW website describing it as "luxury 5 star." Which it is NOT

Orchard Manor View is an excellent care home. I am very pleased with the quality of the home and, most importantly, the care of the residents. Although my grandmother unfortunately didn't get to spend as much time at home, she was really happy and safe here. I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and support, and a special shout-out to all members of staff who were extremely caring and showed our family compassion through the later stages of my grandmother's journey.

We needed to move my late mother-in-law with Alzheimer's to somewhere more local and visited a lot of local care homes to select one. From the moment we turned up unannounced one weekend to have a look around we were instantly impressed by the staff with their knowledge; friendliness and professionalism. We were made to feel welcome, the home was clean and the staff were engaging. When it came to moving her in they did anything they could to help and settle her in. Every time we visited we never found her on her own. She was always being looked after. If we needed help whilst visiting a member of staff was always readily available to help in any way they could. When it came to switch from private funding to local authority they did everything they could to help with the process. When she passed away the staff were genuinely upset yet still did everything they could on the day to help. I would like to go on record to thank all of the staff for all of their support and care.

My first attraction to the home were the layout and the rooms. Mostly on ground level with large windows and French doors which face onto garden or courtyard. Feels like you are sitting in your own lounge watching the birds and other wildlife. The rooms and bathrooms are large, beautifully designed and impeccably clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Varied food and drink are home-cooked and provided all through the day. Activities are provided morning and afternoon and are interesting and fun. Medication is administered professionally and the home has a good relationship with the GPs. Moving from your own home into a residential home is a big step, especially if you have dementia. Understandably it takes a while to settle in and for residents and staff to trust and know each other. My mum is happy and relaxed and has fun. It's lovely to hear her say... oh we have had a laugh today... Thank you all at Orchard Manor.

Very impressed with the care at this home. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and take great care of the residents, always checking on them and making sure they are comfortable and happy. The home is incredibly clean and all the meals are fresh. The residents are able to move freely and engage in activities if they wish. It is always scary moving a relative into a home and leaving them with someone else but I feel relieved knowing that my grandmother is being well taken care of.

I visited a close family friend here and was dreading it as have always heard care homes are not pleasant places. However, upon entering Orchard Manor View I was welcomed so warmly and impressed with the beautiful surroundings. It felt like I was in a boutique hotel and my friend was genuinely happy to be there! She told me how well looked after she was and how she enjoyed the 'home'; comforts, food and the company of the staff who looked after her really well. My preconceptions of a care home were all proved wrong by Orchard Manor View.

I haven't visited many care homes, but I have to say that Orchard Manor View is exceptional in every way, more like a luxury hotel than a care home. My neighbour informed me that she is very well looked after and has made some lovely friends, who, all together, enjoy the wonderful activities. I left just before lunchtime, the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and dining room had my mouth watering on my way out.
