View Full Details of The New Wycliffe HomeMy aunt has been a resident at The Wycliffe Home for several years, and I've witnessed nothing but continuous improvement and heartfelt care over the last 12 months. Despite living over three hours away, I always feel reassured whether I'm calling or visiting, the staff are consistently warm, responsive, and attentive. The recent changes have been especially impressive. The new manager and care team are fantastic, and it's clear the new owners are genuinely committed to making a difference. There has been significant investment into the home, and you can see the results; from the upgraded environment to the positive, welcoming atmosphere throughout. I'm especially looking forward to the new multi faith room, a thoughtful addition that shows how inclusive and resident-focused the team really is. A big thank you to everyone at The Wycliffe for the compassion and professionalism you show every day.
The New Wycliffe Home is a warm, welcoming, and well-managed long-term care facility. From the moment you arrive, the professionalism and compassion of the staff are clear. Care is personalised, respectful, and attentive, with a strong focus on resident comfort and dignity. The home is clean, organised, and thoughtfully designed, with inviting communal spaces and well-kept rooms. Staff go above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe and supported. A variety of activities and programs provide mental stimulation, social engagement, and a true sense of community. There's a genuine feeling of care that extends beyond routine - it's clear the team is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in residents' lives. I highly recommend The New Wycliffe Home to anyone seeking quality care for themselves or a loved one. It offers more than just a place to stay - it offers a place to feel at home.
I was looking for good care home since long time. Main thing for me was the Gujarati-speaking staff and proper vegetarian food for my mother. I first called one local home but they were full, then someone told me about this home and we came to see. From first visit only, I got good feeling. Staff were smiling, talking nicely, and understanding our culture. My mother is staying here since one month now, and already she has settled so nicely. Staff speak Gujarati with her, and she is eating well - all food is veg and made with love. To keep parent in care home is not easy decision. We always feel little guilty in heart. But now I see she is getting better care here than what we can give at home. She has good company, activities to do, and all medical things available like wheelchair, hoist, special bed - all in place. At home we don't have all this. I come every day to visit. Staff never say no, always welcome me with smile and respect. My mother is happy, safe, and well looked after
My mother-in-law's been in Butterfly Suite just over the three months now, and honestly, we couldn't ask for better. The staff are absolutely lovely - every single one of them goes the extra mile. You can tell they genuinely care about the people they look after, it's not just a job to them. There is always something going on - the activities are brilliant and everydays seems to bring something new. Nothing's ever too much trouble for them. I love that they send us little updates and photos - it's really puts our mind at ease when we can't pop in too visit. We're just so grateful that she's somewhere safe, happy and cared for like this. She's in the best hand and that means everything.
The manager and care staff at The Wycliffe are truly fantastic. They are incredibly caring and attentive, always going out of their way to ensure my mum is not only well cared for but also kept well dressed and mentally stimulated. It's clear they genuinely care about the wellbeing of each resident. The peace of mind I have knowing she's in such good hands is priceless. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do. It means the world to us.
My aunty is in great hands - the staff are fantastic and always there for her, day and night. She's treated with genuine kindness and respect, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They make sure her asian dietary needs are taken care of, and she absolutely loves getting involved in the singing and activities from the activities coordinators. It gives us real peace of mind knowing she's safe, happy, and truly cared for. The manager has a fabulous team here.
I wrote a lovely review for this care home in Sept 2024, but sadly things have changed an awful lot at The New Wycliffe since then! It is very sad to see, what was a great care home, descend into a place I no longer recognise. The last CQC report is from a while ago, when things were OK & it was under different ownership & management & doesn't reflect the current situation there.
A friend of mine has recently moved into the New Wycliffe and the staff have been amazing, nothing is to much trouble and everyone is made welcome. The activities are amazing keeping everyone involved. Food is again amazing and everyone's needs are catered for.
My auntie has been a resident since January 2023, I was impressed with the welcome she received when she first arrived. That same theme has been constant throughout. The staff are fantastic, it is very encouraging to see the same staff by and large since then, it says something for the culture of the home. The staff always display a loving, caring attitude to the residents. They are patient under sometimes challenging circumstances. My auntie always speaks well of the staff and I can see why.
The home is like a five star hotel it's the best one I've stayed in. The staff go up and beyond themselves. Lots of activities, music, singing and dancing. The food is fantastic, lots of choices and is nice and tasty. My room is nice and big and airy and I have a brand new bed. All the staff including management are brilliant. Also I can go out and about if I want too. The New Wycliffe Home is a happy homely place.
My dad has been in a number of care homes. This one is without doubt the best one he's been in. The staff are second to none. They treat each resident like they are a member of their own family. My dad is so happy here as a family having to make the decision that he can't come home is heartbreaking. But it made it so much easier knowing he was in this home. Always dressed smartly, clean, and they keep him busy with some wonderful activities. In and out the home a wonderful trip on a barge was the last one. Which my mum and sister got to enjoy too. We would obviously love him to come home sadly that's not possible now. But knowing he's here makes it so much easier for all of us. Fantastic place, keep up the great work all of you.
The New Wycliffe Home For The Blind. My first experience of this place was a nice friendly welcoming one, friendly staff in a nice friendly environment, this place has my 5-star rating, friendly atmosphere, I'm sure the residents love being there.
In 2017/18 I visited 16 different care homes before choosing The New Wycliffe, this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I probably spend more time at the home than most, visiting every day for the past six and a half years. The staff are incredible, they treat all residents with love and respect and they really do work as a team in a very friendly environment. Residents are encouraged to join in activities and outings organised by enthusiastic staff. As a relative I have found it difficult to cope with Dementia but the senior staff are so knowledgeable on the subject which has given me peace of mind. I have nothing but praise for the whole team. The home has recently been taken over by Midlands Care, with this new investment in the building and facilities the future looks bright.
My husband first came to the New Wycliffe Home in October last year for a months respite, which after a full assessment, then for a permanent stay. After a few weeks of adjustment for him and my family, we realised it was the best thing for him and for me. The home is now the only home he knows and the staff are his family. I couldn't begin to stay how grateful we are. The home has given him the best life. They stimulate him so much with all the activities and trips. He is treated love and respect. The staff look after me and my family. We feel we are part of his new forever home. I could say more but there is no space left.
This home really is a home from home, such a bright, happy place filled with light and positivity. It is extremely clean, staff are amazing, they work so hard to make everything nice for residents and it seems nothing is too much trouble for them. My sister had many complex health needs and these were all looked into very thoroughly. The manager not only made it a priority to fully understand what was needed in terms of care and support to keep her safe and comfortable but also took the time and care to speak to my sister at length to find out who she was as a person. The food served here is first class. When my sister passed away, everyone was extremely kind, compassionate, caring and supportive. Everyone we met at the home had a smile for us and it really is just a lovely place to be in. Staff and Management always listened to us and responded positively to any requests we made or feedback we gave them which was hugely appreciated. I can't sing their praises enough.
Everyone is amazing, the care, friendship, support, respect, and love towards my father, my family and myself was second to none. The care home really is a home from home. You made Dad's 90th birthday so very special. The day trips and special occasions were something to be excited about, and great fun too. Thank you all so very much. You became our extended family.
I feel confident that my husband is safe and well cared for - very important as he continues to deteriorate. Staff are warm and loving to him and caring and concerned for my well-being. A great effort is made to ensure that residents enjoy life at The New Wycliffe. Friends and residents are included and consideration is shown to them. At a very sad and trying time, the staff do all they can.
My mum has been a resident at the New Wycliffe Care Home for just over two years now. I have always found the Carers and Seniors very helpful when I ask about mums' care. New Wycliffe is very clean and well looked after. There are many activities for residents who are able to take part and they also go on trips out. Lovely garden to walk around with wheelchair access. Wonderful home.
My wife has been a resident in this care home since April 2023. Generally I would mark the care home Excellent with regards to the staff and Good to Excellent for all other categories. I have no hesitation in recommending this home.
Amazing staff. My mother was previously a resident there a few years ago and therefore the family did not hesitate for my mother-in-law to have respite care there for a while, as we knew the level of care that she would receive would be excellent.
