View Full Details of The BancroftAfter my mother's death, my father - who has Alzheimer's - continued to live in our family home, with the help of carers, until November 2024. He then had a fall, and when his hospital stay came to an end, it seemed to be no longer practical or safe for him to return home. When I contacted The Bancroft, the owner and the manager could not have been more helpful, or welcoming. They had a room available, which they were happy for me to decorate with many of my father's treasured pictures and other items, and within a week of my initial enquiry he had moved in. He has been very happy there. The staff are fantastic - so friendly, efficient and helpful - which is a great comfort to me, as I live in Western Australia and can't be there to visit more than 2-3 times a year. He walks the corridors each day, enjoys the food, and even admits to enjoying the entertainment (a miracle, if you know my dad). Thanks to everyone for making him feel so at home, and so comfortable.
My aunt moved into the home following a short stay in a nursing home. From the very start the staff have been very helpful and caring. My aunt is very happy living at the home. My aunt recently had problems with her eye sight and the staff were quick to organise an optician to visit and sort out new glasses.
We are well pleased with the standard and care of the care home, staff are very professional and caring, friendly and helpful, a beautiful care home. Everything is well maintained, communication between the care home and the resident's family is great.
My sister has been a resident for about 5 years and during that time I have had no major concerns about her care. When my sister has needed medical attention, they are quick to get the correct treatment, i.e. be it a doctor's visit or hospital. I am personally always made welcome.
My dad has been a resident at The Bancroft Care Home for four and a half years. During this period my dad, mum and I have always been very pleased with all aspects of his care. The home is a lovely place. The gardens are beautifully kept and the building is very well maintained. The staff are very hardworking, friendly and extremely supportive. We have a great deal of respect for the whole team.
I visit my mother weekly and on every visit have noted the kindness of the staff to the residents. My mother who initially did not want to be in a care home now tells me she is extremely happy, loves her little room and would never leave even if she won the lottery.
I have found that the care and attention of our friend to be of a very high standard. Every aspect of care is considered. Lovely cooked meals, and pleasant surroundings and attention to detail. The attention to cleanliness, decor and furnishings is beyond reproach. Its a place where I feel quite happy that our dear friend is being cared for to the highest standard. I would like to thank everyone for their care and dedication. Particularly, during these trying times.
