View Full Details of Sandpiper Care HomeMy mum and dad were both in Sandpiper. Dad passed away in April- the care was absolutely amazing from all staff, especially Joanne (outstanding care). Mum is still in care, with alzheimers and constantly wants to go home, she tries to escape regularly, but the team are amazing and they cope really well managing her behaviour.
Joanne is amazing always sing always dancing, she lightens up a room. Front of house (Leanne). Always happy, cheerful, friendly and polite on the phone. Always happy to help out of hours. Tanya always on hand to help and update in and out of working hours.
We attended a 100th birthday celebration this afternoon for a for a resident. The staff did an excellent job providing care. Food and entertainment. A lovely relaxed atmosphere and we were all made very welcome.
Fantastic efforts from everyone for my friends 100th!
Brilliant. Here for Grannies 100th - great staff, lovely.
Staff are very caring and look after my mum well. Responsive to requests.
Excellent compassionate care for my Mum. Happy caring environment with professional staff. Would highly recommend this home, residents are treated like family. Mum has challenging behaviours at times always handled with care and compassion.
My nan has become a resident there and has flourished under their care. The staff are caring, professional and compassionate. You can tell it's not just a job for them and that they genuinely care about all the residents.
I'm very impressed by everything at this care home. My mum is a resident here and she is treated with the utmost respect by the staff. In my opinion and others in my family, this is without doubt the place for mum to be. Mum's memories may be fading but she's always smiling when we visit and tells us that she likes her new home.
Fantastic friendly staff most are like family, always helpful with any enquiries, friends and family welcome at all times and always offered meals for Christmas mothers/fathers day and birthdays. They are all proper home cooked meals. Lots of activities whether days out or entertainment inside and outside. Residents are truly treated like family.
Mum has been in approximately a year now and the transformation in her is incredible. Other than the Alzheimer's, every other part of mum's life has improved so much. She's eating great meals, she's surrounded by fantastic residents and the carers really are our extended family. We are very lucky to have found such a wonderful home for her, huge weight lifted from our minds as a family. Just today alone, she's had a haircut, participated in the exercise, had a fabulous lunch with seconds on the pudding and when I left, a singer was just setting up! What a great home she lives in. Credit to the manager and his fantastic team. Thank you.
My mother moved into the home a few months ago now. If I am honest I was dreading it but due to her illnesses there were no other option. I can genuinely say it was the best decision for her, both the care staff and management have been amazing and very helpful when I have been unsure about things, reassuring both my mother and myself. She's settled in well and the staff have always ensured mum's privacy and dignity is maintained at all times. The food always looks nice and very appetising, always having different options available. I would recommend Sandpiper to anyone that is looking for a home for their loved ones.
Sandpiper is a residential care home, with wonderful people working in it. The minute I walked into Sandpiper, I knew it was right and my Mum would be looked after. When we arrived in mid-December with Mum and a car packed with all her personal items, including a TV and a Wheelchair, the team were waiting to greet us. They did everything - got Mum out of the car, unpacked her belongings and made us a drink and something to eat. The Care Home Manager and her team are extremely welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Mum's room was lovely with a view of the garden and she was looked after very well. The place is spotless and 'homely'. Visitors were always made to feel welcome when visiting her on a daily basis. Sadly, at the end of January, Mum had a stroke. Her progress is good but her medical needs mean she now needs a Nursing Care Home with a registered nurse on site. I count myself very lucky that a room was available just when Mum needed it the most. Thank you Sandpiper!
These past few weeks have been very good for activities and care for my friend. I also thank the kitchen staff for catering for my friend. Thank you.
Every visit we made in December 2023 was very enjoyable, with clean premises and friendly/helpful staff. Great to see the Christmas enjoyment was everywhere on the premises. My dad has seemed to settle in and enjoying his time at Alford.
In the past few years, we have dealt with a few care homes. Sandpiper is by far the best. The manager and staff are absolutely amazing. The room is clean and tidy and smells nice. My mum loves the food. I would recommend Sandpiper to anyone.
My friend has been in Sandpiper Care Home (Tanglewood) since before Christmas, and I try to visit as often as I can. On each visit, I have been impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the home. The staff are always friendly and helpful and treat the residents with respect and dignity. Even though my friend has dementia, she always tells me how helpful the staff are and that nothing is too much trouble for them.
After contacting numerous homes whilst looking for dementia care for our dad, Sandpiper was the first we visited. No need to look any further, and within a week, our dad moved into his new home! He's happily been there for around 18 months now. The absolute best thing there are the staff, all of them! Always a welcoming smile and happy to help. Management is incredibly honest, open and approachable. They're the ones that give us peace of mind our dad's in a safe, secure environment, where he's well looked after. The home itself is very well maintained, always clean, bright and welcoming. There's a lovely spacious garden as a plus point too, during the summer months. Food always looks good, along with drinks and snacks, which nicely break up the day. Highly recommended to anyone facing the decision of choosing a new home for a loved one!
Wonderful afternoon tea was provided by the brilliant chef and member of the activities team on Mother's Dat - a very special time to add to my memories. Every occasion is always made very special by all the wonderful caring staff. I feel so relaxed and contented knowing that my mum is being cared for in a "home from home" atmosphere here at Snadpiper. Thank you to all the hard-working staff.
The staff are always very caring and take time out of their day to talk to Mum, who is now unfortunately bedbound and non-verbal. We did have a situation where Mum took a turn for the worse and was given a very short time left. The staff pulled out the stops, and we had full access and privacy at this difficult time. However, the care must have been exceptional as Mum rallied around and is in much better spirits and still keeping everyone busy!
