View Full Details of Oxendon House Care HomeMum has been a resident at Oxendon House for nearly three years and is very happy in the very 'homely' home. The staff are always cheerful and friendly when we visit and understand mum well. The activities are varied, the food always looks appetising and the menu sounds excellent. The care mum has received has been excellent from the dedicated and hard working staff. We are sure mum is in the right home.
My mother has been a resident since January 2024 and I couldn't be happier with the care that she receives, it really is a home away from home. She has Alzheimer's and this can sometimes cause challenging behaviour, but it is always dealt with gently and with exceptional professionalism. I can rest easy knowing that she is safe and her sparkle and smile are still there.
My sister has been a resident in Oxendon House since January 2024. She is very settled and happy there. She responds well to the staff, who are all understanding and very aware of her needs; they are also very supportive of us, her family. They provide a wide range of activities, some of which she joins in with. I am pleased to have been able to recommend the home to friends who are looking for residential care for their parents, etc.
The care provided for my aunt is outstanding. Her needs are being met by a team of friendly and professional staff. The activates offered at the home are stimulating and meet the needs of the clients well. These activities are wide ranging and lead enthusiastically by the activities coordinator. The range of food provided takes into account dietry requirements and clients medical needs. My aunt still gets "treat" items when she wants them, not just the catered meals. Services like hairdressing and manicured help clients to feel positive about themselves helping with the move from independent living to a care setting. We couldn't be more satisfied with the care provided here. My aunt is gently encouraged to join in, especially on days when her mood is low and engagement expectations are tailored to these ups and downs due to her developing dementia.
Our father is very happy and content at Oxendon House. The staff are fantastic and very caring. There is plenty to keep Dad stimulated and it's a real 'home from home' but with all the safety and support you would expect.
Mum has Alzheimer's and as such has good times and difficult times, The wonderful staff look after Mum so very well whatever type of day she is having. They treat him kindly, with respect and compassion at all times. They are patient and caring. It doesn't matter when we visit they always know how she is and how she is doing today. Highly recommend.
Due to a family move, we needed to find a new care home for Dad. Oxendon House seemed the best fit for Dad's needs and the room available was very nice, with patio doors and lots of space. The team at Oxendon House has made the whole transfer of Dad a very pleasant experience and was and are extremely helpful and caring. Dad has settled in better than expected by the family and this is due to the care and professionalism of the whole team at Oxendon House, which we highly recommend.
From my first visit to Oxendon House, I knew it was the right place for my Dad. It has a truly warm, homely and caring feel. The transition for my Dad was impressively fast, the staff had everything arranged smoothly, showing both exceptional organisation and genuine commitment. The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming and professional. They communicate openly and effectively with me. They treat my Dad with the utmost dignity and respect. They genuinely care about the residents, creating a convivial, supportive and positive environment. The setting itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and always kept spotlessly clean. The food is excellent. I feel completely at ease knowing my Dad is not only safe but also truly cared for. It's clear that the home is led by strong, compassionate leadership that values open communication; I am always kept well informed and feel fully involved in my Dad's care. The entire team's dedication shines through every day. I would not hesitate to recommend.
Mum has been a resident since December 2023 and I have nothing but praise for the service. Excellent activities. Good fresh food. One of the main reasons we selected Oxendon. All freshly prepared on-site. The staff are all so dedicated.
My auntie moved into Oxendon House some time ago after a prolonged hospital stay, followed by being poorly looked after at a different care establishment. Whilst she still suffers from mobility issues, the staff and management at Oxendon House have provided excellent care, enabling her to regain her health and enjoy a much better quality of life than she had previously. Thank you.
We are so happy with the love and care Mum received in the last months of her life. Staff coped with her dementia and sometimes challenging behaviour in such a knowledgeable and gentle manner, often with humour, and made our family’s life so much easier knowing she was well looked after. We were always cheerfully greeted and everyone, from management to cleaning staff, was supportive to both our family visiting every day and me living so far away in taking an interest, offering advice and a listening ear when needed. I felt they always had time for us, as well as Mum. Everywhere is kept very clean and nicely decorated. We especially loved the peaceful and secure garden that can be accessed freely from within. Activities are improving now as new staff have come in and the social media page keeps us up-to-date with photos – lovely for those of us that can’t often visit. A huge thank you to everyone at Oxendon House Care Home for doing such a great job: very well done.
The care Mum received from this wonderful home has been extraordinary - it's something I will never forget. Mum moved from another home in a spiraling decline of dementia. Staff at Oxendon House quickly assessed her needs and involved the mental health team. Mum was started on new medication and this (and the vastly superior care) literally changed everything for her, reducing her agitation massively. Nothing was too much trouble, they treated her with so much love and respect despite her very challenging behaviours. Mum reached the end of her journey with this terrible illness whilst in residence. They were always one step ahead of her needs and talked me through everything, preparing me for things that I'd never considered. I spent the last week with Mum day and night and felt involved in her care 100%. Losing her to dementia was heartbreaking but would have been so much worse without their love and care. I can't thank or recommend Oxendon House enough. They are wonderful!
My brother has been in Oxendon House Care Home for twelve months. He seems comfortable and the home is well looked after. Most of the staff are good, some excellent - I've never seen any being downright unhelpful. Senior staff are generally on the ball when it comes to illnesses and medication and keep me informed of any problems. There seems to have been a lack of organised activities over the last year, which is more of a concern to some users than others, no doubt. It bothers me that the GP hardly ever visits, (whatever the CQC might like to think) leaving most things to a physician associate but I suspect this is par for the course now in most care homes.
This is a really well-run home. There is a happy and caring atmosphere. Staff are always present and respond quickly to the resident's needs. My father can no longer express an opinion, but I know he is relaxed and content, always smart, well-fed and in safe hands. Congratulations to a fabulous team.
Dad has been in Oxendon House Care Home since his hospital discharge, and the team has really looked after him since he arrived. He was welcomed in, has been fed well, and they have adjusted and responded to his needs. They've kept me updated, responded professionally and been genuinely caring. Really grateful for their help. Lovely team of people. Can highly recommend.
On arrival and since it has been very satisfactory and I can't fault it. I have made some good friends with other residents and staff.
This is the third time my husband has been a respite resident and has seemed a lot more settled as time has gone on. The staff have been amazing and very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. I have no worries about his care when he is at Oxendon House.
The team at Oxendon House Care Home are amazing, kind, dedicated and nothing is too much trouble for them. They really take the time to ensure my mum is well cared for and kept active. Despite her obvious communication issues, they go to great lengths to understand her and her needs. The social media page is well maintained and is a pleasure to see how engaged all the residents are in the various regular activities and themed events. She enjoys her food and is complimentary about the meals. I am very happy that the manager and the team were able to take her in at short notice during the pandemic. She is clearly happy here in a safe, open and homely environment. Very well done and thank you to all the team for always making me feel welcome when I call or visit.
I wanted to write and say how delighted I am with the care my husband has had during his five-month stay at Oxendon House Care Home. The staff are dedicated and experienced. My husband has been treated with kindness and consideration. The staff work to a very high standard and have a knowledge of the people in their care. I have always been treated with kindness and all my requests and enquires have been cheerfully met. My husbands room is beautifully maintained his bathroom is spotless. It is obvious that a great deal of hard work has gone into maintaining standards. During my visits various meals have been served, again I have been impressed by the presentation and quality of these meals. My husband loves his food therefore this is very important to him. Oxendon House is a very beautiful building that has the feel of a home, its not ostentatious but just really pleasant and homely, the sort of place you feel comfortable. Thank you all.
I’m happy and feel safe here, considering I can’t be at home. We stayed safe during the pandemic under trying circumstances. I can’t live in my own home anymore but here is the next best thing. The staff are very good to me.
