My dad came to Abafields in 2024 and although it took him a few weeks to settle in he has been happy and well cared for since he arrived. The staff are all very friendly and take good care of him. Any issues that have arisen have been dealt with promptly and professionally and I feel that my input
is valued and appreciated. My dad says he is happy and gets on well with his carers. Whenever I visit I am made to feel welcome. All in all we are happy with the standard of care my dad receives.

I would like to thank all the staff at Abberfields. What stands out most is how kind and attentive the staff are. They always take the time to sit with her for a conversation, and if she's feeling a little upset, someone is always there to comfort her and make her a cup of tea. Those small acts of
kindness really do make a difference.
The Christmas party and Christmas lunch meant a lot to her as she could not be with family.
The management are always welcoming to have a chat with me and sort out any issues with constant update along the way.

This is a Genuine review that comes from Hurt and pure Disgust !!! My beautiful mother in law was put in this Asylum by social workers it WAS NOT OUR CHOICE she resided here for around 14/15 months,To say she was treat like dirt on your shoe is a total understatement,I have come on here to educate
and warn family members so you don't have to go through the devastating heartbreak we have endured the whole time mum was placed here, My first encounter of this place was one of pure horror I went into mums room to fetch some cream to apply to her skin the smell of ammonia was stifling from the lack of care of personal needs,I will name a few problems we had : undiagnosed scabies, Not showered for a month, couldn't walk bcos of the state of her feet,Her labelled clothes going missing,All mums jewellery went missing,Sent to hospital on her own with Dementia,Faeces all over her clothes and belongings it's DISGUSTING please be aware this isn't a care home as there is no care given

Had to give one star to be able to review. But I will give it none. My mother has been in this horrible place for a year. We have had three section 42 for neglect for my mother. From rashes that was classed as maybe sensitive to wash powder took her out for the day and got her to see a pharmacist
who said it looks like bedbugs staff wasn't helpful when we asked for gloves to put cream on mum staffs reply was what's wrong with her skin. Ended up being scabies section 42 and teams meeting with social. Another her toe nails were that overgrown she couldn't walk properly and took over two hours to sort for her so she wasn't uncomfortable another section 42 and teams meeting. Another section 42 was they hadn't showered my mum for over four weeks. Then my mum had a unwitnessed fall in the bathroom and sent to hospital on her own she has dementia and why would you send someone with dementia to hospital on her home. I can't stress enough if you love your family members don't send them here.

My mum has been at Abafields around 4 months now and has settled in really well, all the staff and management have been really friendly and supportive with my mum and myself keeping me upto date with all aspect of her care and how she is settling in, they are all a credit to Abafields.
The home is
an old building and I can see that a number of improvements are currently ongoing to improve standards further. My mum has confirmed on a number of occasions how well she is being care for which is really reassuring at a difficult time of her life. Thanks to all concerned.

My mother was a resident initially respite however became permatly at abafields residential home. She was very happy with her room and her time at abafields. She enjoyed the activities and the food however unfortunately for myself she became ill quite quickly and was bedboud for a time until she
passed away. My brother was also very impressed with the home and very grateful for the care my mother recieved and would recommend the home to others

My mum moved into Abafields in November 2025 and she absolutely loves it here. All the staff are incredibly supportive to both me and mum and family they reassure us on everything that we need to know. The staff are absolutely brilliant, very polite, & helpful in every way. The rooms are spacious
and clean. Abafields also do different activities for the residents.

Mum has been a resident her since April 2020, she well cared for and seems very happy. Any issues we have had have been dealt with in a timely manner. Communication between ourselves, management and staff is excellent. It is good to see improvements being made to the home, with as little disruption
as possible to residents. We as a family are very happy that mum has a place here. She is always treated with dignity and respect. Thank you to all the staff at Abafields.

The management is excellent and always approachable. I am continually impressed and pleased with the welcome I always get from the staff. They are courteous and pleasant and are happy to have a quick word or ask for a quick chat about the resident you are visiting. The staff work hard to ensure all
residents are cared for (some needing more help than others), and yet their approach shows efficiency, dignity, understanding and support. I am always asked how I am and would I like a drink. Staff who come through the area where I am sitting always acknowledge me. The facilities have recently been upgraded and further work is planned I understand. Abafields is a friendly home where there is a 'homely' atmosphere and the quality and level of care is excellent. It is a place where residents feel secure and supported. My friend is happy here and has a good rapport with the staff. I enjoy my visits every week.

My father has lived in Abafields for 11 months and is very happy. The staff are very friendly, caring and professional. The building has recently been refurbished and new fixtures and fittings. My father enjoys all his meals and the menu is changed on a regular basis. I would highly recommend the
care home to others.

My Nan is currently a resident here, and I can't praise the staff enough. The care that they show to the residents is second to none, especially two members of staff that my Nan is very fond of. They even extend their care to you, always greeted with a smile and the offer of a cup of tea which is a
lovely touch. The home is always clean and well kept, and most importantly my Nan is always happy. Other residents also look well looked after. We're always kept up to date and the staff are answer on hand to answer any questions. A big thank you to all.

My Brother David has lived in a few good Care Homes in the Bolton area over a number of years. However, he has never been happier than he is since moving to Abbeyfield. The building is currently being renovated, but that is not as important as the actual care he receives from all who work at the
Home. I can honestly say that all the Care Staff, Managers, and Support workers are very pleasant, kind, professional and caring.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Abbeyfield Care Home. 10 out of 10.
09 July 2020
My sister was resident here during the last months of her life, due to the pandemic I was unable to visit, but if I called to arrange a time I could speak to her and her daughters kept me updated and assured me she was being looked after fantastically.
19 May 2020
The home is bright, clean and very well run. The staff are always ready to listen and care for clients. The building and gardens are well maintained, as are residents rooms. Kitchen and food are of good quality. Mum has been at the home for almost 5-years, and improvements have been made in all
areas. Great place for Mum to live in.
19 May 2020
My mum has been a resident at Abafields since August 2019, and we are so happy with the tender loving care she has received continuously. Her every need is met all the times. The staff and management are the best you could ever ask for, especially in the current situation of COVID-19, ensuring all
residents and staff members are safe, well and entertained all the times. I would highly recommend this home to any families that are struggling, as we did in knowing they can no longer care for their loved one themselves. The building may not be the most modern, but it is very well suited to the age group it serves and makes them feel more at home.
19 August 2019
My dad recently moved to Abafields, I cannot praise them enough, dad settled really well, is obviously well looked after, he looks great and enjoying the food.
10 June 2019
My grandma was admitted to Abafields following the deterioration of her health, she was only in the home for five weeks as she needed end of life care. From the minute she arrived at the home, she was treated with dignity and respect.
Her room was comfortable and the care she was provided with was
excellent, not just by the carers but cleaners and kitchen staff as well.
Staff at the home made what was a very sad time for us as a family, a lot more pleasant, both managers were always available to answer any questions and provided guidance to our family when needed.
Sadly Gran passed away on New Year’s Day. During those last few days, the staff not only cared for my Gran but also my family and we are extremely grateful to all the staff in the home for this.
I would definitely recommend this home.
