View Full Details of Avonleigh GardensThe care home is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are friendly and approachable. Though my mum has only been here a short period of time, the care and support shown towards my family is outstanding.
I think this care home is perfect for my gran. All staff seem to incredibly happy and make everyone feel so comfortable. There is such an amazing atmosphere in the home. The home is very well presented and is always very clean and tidy.
My Mum spent 2 weeks at this beautiful home. We as a family cannot praise the staff enough for the care and dedication shown to our Mum. Thank you for being so amazing. You are all angels. Beautiful home.
Since my relative has been on respite at Avonleigh, we have noticed a massive difference in her mental well-being, personal hygiene and overall health. It is so nice to see the care that she is receiving. All of the staff make it feel so homely. No matter their job role, they all work together and go above and beyond. Fabulous care and a fabulous environment! Management have a lot of involvement with the residents and are always around to help - there is nothing they don't know which I find incredible - I would recommend Avonleigh Gardens to anybody.
As the daughter of a respite user i can only comment and review on the days my 93 year old mother was in there, I can't thank Rachel and James enough for their prompt and quick actions getting my mum in at such short notice so i could still go on my holiday, the staff were friendly and treated mum with dignity and meet her needs as she had just had a fall, knowing that she was being cared for 24/7 as family it gave us peace of mind, she had three full meals a day she said it was good, the room was a lovely size and very comfortable for her, so once again Rachel thank you for your efficiency and making sure mums needs were meet at this very difficult time.
my mother was living alone at home with visiting day care. She has very limited mobility and forgetful. I arranged for her to stay in Avonleigh Gardens while i was away because I knew she would not be able to care for herself during the night hours. On my return from holiday, my mother was so much brighter and happier than she has been in a very long time. She said she had loved the care and attention she has been receiving. I knew my mother was at a stage where she needed more care than she was receiving at home so, I asked her if she would want me to apply for her to remain at Avonleigh Gardens to which she said yes please. In the 4 weeks my mum has been here, the staff I have met have all been so pleasant to speak to and continually ask if everything is ok to which the answer has always been yes apart from, mum likes Bran Flakes which they did not have but they went and bought some for her. Her room is bright and airy with everything she needs. Thank you for taking care of my mum.
I don't feel the staff have an adequate understanding of dementia. On one occasion, I overheard the manager speaking disrespectfully to a member of staff, unaware that I was behind the bedroom door. During some of my visits, our mum was not dressed appropriately and was often left to her own devices without proper support. The bedrooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment, and the furniture is also worn and tired. The food provided was bland, with very little variety or choice. I also noticed that staff spent a significant amount of time on their devices. On top of this, one senior member of staff - described by my sister as having short hair - was extremely rude to my mother, which my sister personally overheard. Our Mum will not be returning for further respite.
Brilliant staff, superb.
I visit Avonleigh Gardens to see my friend, who is a resident there. Everyone is so lovely and caring at all times during my visits. The home is kept nice and clean and is very homely.
All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming at Avonleigh. Lots of smiling faces every time I visit! My friend has settled really well and feels comfortable in his room and the communal areas of the home. He is very well cared for and is happy. They often have special events/days where family and friends are warmly welcomed in to spend time with their loved ones. It very much has a family feel about it.
I have lived here for many years. I love my room and all the staff are friendly and caring.
I recently visited several care homes for prospective place for my mother . None of them were a patch on Avonleigh Gardens. It is beautifully decorated so it looks more like a hotel than a care home . The gardens are large and easily accessible for the residents with plenty of benches scattered at different locations in the garden. The staff are very vigilant in bringing out cushions and blankets when it's chilly and sun hats and sun screen and plenty of drinks in the warm weather. It's the little details that put Avonleigh above other homes. Home made cake is often given out for snacks as well as for birthdays. A recent film afternoon offered popcorn to make the experience more realistic.I find it very reassuring that lost clothes and glasses/hearing aids are genuinely searched for and everything so far has been retrieved.I would highly recommend Avonleigh.
My mum has dementia and is a very challenging lady. She is partially sighted and hard of hearing, she is however mobile. The staff are outstanding, they are kind and patient and work with us, the family, to help mum. Her room is beautiful and practical. We have personalised it and she believes that she is staying in a hotel! The staff ensure that she remains hydrated by offering a variety of drinks that she enjoys. The food is appetizing and as mum has a southern appetite, they offer alternatives if there is nothing that she fancies. The garden area is fantastic with decking areas, numerous chairs and benches that are placed to enable privacy or encourage integration and interaction. Mum has been out on trips and when she's feeling grumpy, is allowed to be alone but is discreetly monitored. She occasionally joins in with activities but sometimes is just happy to wash up! Choosing a care home is incredibly challenging, Avonleigh and its staff made the process much simpler. Fantastic.
My dad has settled in here at Avonleigh Gardens very well. Great food, great activities, my dad is happy and content here, the staff are brilliant, and I can't thank them enough for all they do for him,
My dad as been in Avonleigh Gardens for five months now and he as come on so much, We definitely made the right choice choosing this home. The carer's do an amazing job always happy and welcoming. The managers are always there if you need a chat. Really good entertainment too.
it's a good place and my grandad really likes it there. The carers do an amazing job at helping the residents. He is very happy when we go round to see him and the carers are very kind and helpful to everyone.
The manager and her team work hard to car for tgd individual; they are not just "clients". They are treated like family. My mum went in after a stay in hospital where she had been virtually non verbal and unable to walk or feed herself. Within a couple of weeks she is very much her old self, incredible!
Avonleigh is a wonderful care home, all the staff are very attentive and caring and are always willing to help my grandma. She has seemed so much happier whilst residing at Avoleigh, it is good to see her being social and enjoying the activities.
My Mother-in-Law came to Avonleigh Gardens in December 2024 after an 11 week stay in hospital. We, as a family, were concerned as to whether we had made the right decision for her at the time, but can now honestly say that it has been the best decision we could have made for her. Staff are always kind and caring and take time to listen to residents when they are upset or confused. Personal care and hygiene is completed with patience and understanding. As a family, we are happy with all aspects of care given at Avonleigh.
Amazing service from all of the carers, my Grandad has settled in better than I could have imagined. He has made a huge improvement in his health since being in Avonleigh Gardens. I can't thank them enough.
