View Full Details of Garswood HouseMum came into Garswood House, despite us not knowing if we were doing the right things. Our worries were deeply unfounded. The first 2 weeks were the most difficult due to mums change of environment. However after the 2 weeks mum is for happier + far more settled than she has been for the last couple of years. The staff are brilliant and always pleased to see you and are very informant of doctors visits, illness etc. The staff have definitely made mums transition into a care home far easier that possibly expected.
Extremely happy with the care provided for my dad whilst in temporary respite. Staff are extremely caring and helpful in regards to the care they provide and communication. Personally, I don't think we could have found a better place for dad's recuperation. Heart felt thanks to all, from all the family.
My Mum has been in the care home for over 12 months now, she does seem to have settled but, I'm not happy with the activities, there is not enough going on for the residents. My Mum is constantly complaining that there aren't enough meal options, this has been addressed numerous times. My other concern is staffing, I, as a visitor, have noticed very minimum staff on shift.
My mother has lived in Garswood House for the past 4 years and during that time my brother and I have been so happy with mum's care. All the staff ar excellent and treat mum with the respect and dignity she so deserves during her dementia journey. I would thoroughly recommend Garswood House to anyone looking for residential care in the Wigan area.
Everyone at Garswood have been tremendous, its such a happy place and my aunt is so so happy here. All the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, they're always on hand to help. The activities and entertainment in outstanding as is the families social media page. Even if I'm away I can always see my aunts smiling face enjoying herself with the staff and other residents. We are so lucky to have found this place for her.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Any requests or enquiries are responded to quickly. I am always kept well informed of what is going on and the staff go out of their way to entertain the residents. It is a big relief to know mum is being looked after by such lovely staff.
The team at Garswood House are amazing. Very caring and understood mum's every need. I could not praise them enough.
My wife has now been in residential care at this home and the service from the management and staff has been excellent and I could not fault any body there. They are all very attentive to the need of my wife and the management are excellent.
Garswood House care home is a happy home. Very spacious and atmosphere for residents. The staff go way above the provision of care and nursing is ever a problem or too much trouble for them. Very well run by the manager and admin staff and also very approachable and helpful.
All the staff have made mum feel welcome and cared for. She tells all of her visitors how lovely the staff are, how she enjoys the company and the food and that she couldn't be anywhere better. The home provides a warm, welcoming and clean environment. It is reassuring to see how the caring and hardworking staff look after and interact with the residents. I feel that the home would benefit from a dropped kerb/ramp at the front of the building which would be helpful when taking residents out in a wheelchair. I believe this is being discussed with the landlord.
My dad has been at Garswood House for a few months now, he has settled in nicely with the ongoing support of all the staff and management. The environment is caring and friendly and I always feel welcome when I come to visit. There have been many improvements over the last month from daily activities and overall aesthetics around the outside of the building.
My wife was in Garwood House while I had heart surgery for 3 weeks. Very clean, great staff. Excellent. But no basic exercise.
I am very happy with the care given to my mum. Staff are very helpful and pleasant plus health issues are dealt with promptly. She is monitored regularly for any concerns.
Mum has been a resident of Garswood House for almost 3 years and is very happy here and it feels like home. In our experience the staff have always treated Mum with the utmost care and affection. When Mum has been unwell they have always acted immediately and in her best interests and contacted the appropriate health care professionals. The staff are approachable, friendly and professional and we have always been kept fully up to date with Mum's ongoing care. A big thank you from all the family!
Super place, staff is great. Very clean. Could not wish to have my sister anywhere else.
I have not visited my relative for nearly 5 months. On returning and visiting I have noticed a big difference in my realive. The home feels more like a home.
I visited my uncle who is living with dementia today it was evident that he has a good rapport with the staff, who were all very friendly and amenable. The home has a lovely communal outdoor area and each room is well signposted. My uncle was reluctant to go into a care home initially, but it's nice to see him settled.
All the staff and management at Garswood House who we have met have been very pleasant, helpful and friendly. They have always shown a very caring attitude when dealing with residents. This has helped our friend to quickly settle into a new environment.
Mum enjoyed her respite stay. The staff are lovely and helpful. The food is excellent.
The care assistants are very caring and respectful to residents in the home, as are the management and admin team. It has been a very difficult period due to covid but the focus is always on the care and protection of residents. Hopefully, as Covid gets under control, there will be more activities for residents as I feel sure my mum and other patients will benefit from more interaction with others.
