My sister came from a different home, one that had her in hospital suffering from dehydration.
Since being in your care home the difference is astonishing she's put on much needed weight, but most of all she's happy and not afraid anymore.
The staff are wonderful and care about every patient in
their care. We can't speak highly enough of them and we thank god for everyone of them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xo

Our mum is a resident at Kirkby House. It was so hard on us as a family when we knew we could no longer keep mum safe but we couldn't have asked for anything better than the care mum gets here. All the staff are so lovely & treat the residents like one of their own. There is always activities going
on to keep the residents occupied. Thank you Kirkby House xx

I left my first review almost 2 years ago when Mum first moved into Kirkby House. She is still settled, beautifully cared for, and genuinely loved by the team. We honestly couldn't ask for anything more. The staff are outstanding - kind, professional and attentive. As a family we always feel welcome
and thoroughly supported. Thank you to everyone at Kirkby House. You are the absolute best!

the care and support my mother in law linda receives from kirby house care home is 2nd to none , as a family we can rest knowing she is in amazing hands at all times ,I would strongly recommend to any one looking for care for there loved ones keep up the amazing work guys

Kirkby house is by far the best care home I ever visited, on arrival I was worried but staff were so welcoming and nothing we asked was to much trouble they go above and beyond for the residents living at the home they are all treated like family, the home is very clean and always has amazing
activities on on nearly every visit to Kirkby house there has been a singer and all staff up dancing with residents regardless of there ability's they included everyone. Staff are so welcoming and cheerful and happy and always ready to help in anyway they can could not find a better care home anywere.

Found all the staff to be very friendly helpful and professional nothing is to much trouble for them the care they give is evident as you observe when visiting Thank You and well done and keep up the brilliant work

My grandmother has been in Kirkby house for 2 years and I can honestly say we couldn't pick a better home for her. The staff, the atmosphere and just everything about it is outstanding. I know my nan is in the best care and she is so happy there. The place is always immaculate and the staff are on
hand with any needs of the residents. Residents are treated with dignity and respect every time I have ever visited the home. I would honestly recommend Kirkby house to everyone I ever meet. Our family will forever be grateful for what they do for my nan.

Mum came for respite and I was concerned she would not settle as she has always been a private person. However Mum has settled and become permanent at the home. She is settled and seems happy. Mum loves the ducks and garden and seems very happy with the staff and is chatting to the other residents.

Kirkby House is amazing, I never wanted Mum to get to a point of moving to care but unfortunately could not stay at home. Since moving to Kirkby House she is so happy, staff are amazing, I could not have asked for more for my mum. Mum is living her best life, she loves the activities, the singers,
and loves dancing. She loves Kirkby House so much. Thank you for looking after Mum!

My mum came to Kirkby House in October 2025, at first was daunting for her but the staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble that my mum and us daughters now call Kirkby House staff our 2nd family. We know our mum is so cared for and we can approach staff anytime. Our mum loves all the
staff so that makes a massive difference and helps us as a family too.

Cannot fault Kirkby House staff and management amazing always lots to do for the residents they are treated like they were there own great menu choice lovely rooms so glad our mum's there shes safe well looked after we'll fed and shes never bored we'll done to all.

On researching care homes I read each review for Kirkby House and came across one that began - ''if you're in the awful, heartbreaking position where you have to find a care home for your loved one, you can rest assured that Kirkby House is a fantastic place for them.'' - I was in that exact
predicament I had done various 'care home tours'' - I arrived 'un announced' which was not a problem (this was a big decision, involving 'my mum') I noticed immediately how clean it was, the residents looked cheerful, happy and content, a food menu on display to view what had/would be eaten, various daytime activities, numerous visiting areas to visit in, access to an outside maintained secure garden - my mum loved being outside in the garden at her home. The atmosphere was that day and still is to date lovely, friendly, and welcoming. (Christmas was beautiful/special) Every member of staff is outstanding, going above and beyond with care and love. I can honestly say that Kirkby House is the best.

Prior to my mum going to Kirkby House her dementia had progressed resulting in her decline, her personal care, eating, taking plenty of fluids, and getting lost outside had become much worse.
We sat down with Mum expressing our concerns for her safety and asked if she would like to go and visit
Kirkby House, we did this for a week or so while getting support from mums social worker, thankfully mum had agreed she would like to go and live at Kirkby House (this was during September 2024).
It is now 4 months on and Mum is doing amazingly, all her needs are met, and mum is safe and settled at Kirkby House.
The family cannot thank the staff enough for the amazing work that they provide for Mum, all her dietary needs are met, and mum is provided with everything at the home while the family still maintains some normality for Mum in the outside world, she can still do the things she wants outside the only difference is family members will take mum out and then bring her back to the home.

If you are looking for a good care home then look no further than Kirkby House. It is like one big extended family. Lovely, bright, and clean. All the staff are friendly and approachable and treat the residents like they are members of their own family. They all contribute to this being a lovely
home to live in. You can feel the happy vibe as soon as you walk through the door.

Excellent I have no complaints to make. The facilities are clean and comfortable and catering is good. The staff are caring and helpful; the general atmosphere is warm and visitors are welcomed. I would recommend this care home without hesitation.

I am the niece of a resident at this care home. The residents are looked after very well. The care staff are all kind and supportive to the residents and treat them with dignity. The facilities are very good and the staff is very helpful. Good positive feelings when myself and other members of my
family come to see our auntie.
