View Full Details of Westy HallThe staff at Westy Hall are amazing. They work so hard and make sure the residents are safe, happy and comfortable. They always make me feel welcome when visiting and I trust them completely to look after my mum and do what is best for her. It isn't one of the brand new homes that look like 5 star hotels but it is definitely a very caring home to consider for your loved one. Highly recommended
The team are fantastic. The level of care is excellent, and the staff go above and beyond. My relative moved into Westy Hall in April 2025 and I cannot believe how well he has settled and how at home he feels. He is thriving and that is because of the environment that the care team create. I think the home would benefit from some investment in the outdoor spaces/garden and front entrance. Also, a more efficient signing in system would help both those visiting residents and the staff. It feels like visitors are taking staff away from their work by asking them to open doors and sometimes they cannot always be there to let people in and out. These recommendations/suggestions should not detract away from the main point, which is that the care is second to none at Westy and the atmosphere created is that everyone is welcome and loved. In just a few short months, there have been celebrations, days out, llama visits, games nights and pamper days, not to mention lots of birthday cakes. Wonderful care team making tough days much better, Westy Hall is really a special place.
I have been visiting my sister over the past 12 months and cannot praise the staff to much. It is wonderful how they react with my sister and the other residents, also our family members who visit. Everything about the place is caring and welcoming. 10/10.
Where do I start , from beginning to end to moving my aunt it's was 110% care and so considerate.. A member of staff even went above and beyond to meet us on her day off when assessing her for a move to Westys. We left the meeting feeling so blessed we had finally found a carehome who 'care' and treat the elderly with the respect they deserve and love and compassion.. my aunt has changed in one week to feeling content which has massively had a knock on effect of all the family and this is down to that member of staff and the team who are so dedicated and hard working and do everything with love , care and nothing is too much trouble. Thankyou from our hearts that you have allowed us to get a little back to normality and can go home after each visit feeling blessed, my aunt has been there a week and it's her birthday today and they have even had a cake baked for her which tells you how considerate they are.. so blessed there was a room for her
Mum had a serious stroke in December 2021 leaving her physically frail and in need of 4 care visits per day. When I went on holiday in March 2024, Mum agreed to respite care at Westy - she quickly decided that she wanted to stay, instead of returning to her house. Management and staff have done everything they can to make Mum as comfortable and happy as possible. She has formed beautiful bonds with some of the carers, and when she has had small concerns, the home manager has dealt with these sensitively and effectively. Mum has been treated with kindness and respect throughout her stay and her care has been excellent. When she arrived, she was dependant on insulin injections - after around 9 months, these were no longer required due to the fresh cooked meals. We're approaching the last few days of Mum's life now, and the care she's receiving is exemplary. Thank you to everyone at Westy Hall.
The staff & manager have worked with us really well to settle my mum into this care home. They are always friendly & helpful - nothing too much trouble. Her room was painted before arrival & they have purchased new curtains too! The only slight issue is that Mum is struggling to get on with the food. However the chef has helped to offer an alternative.
Amazing staff, personable, home from home. Would highly recommend. Love all the activities and inclusivity. Confidence your loved one is in the best care. A genuinely loving home. Credit to all the staff.
My wife has been in Westy Hall since 21st May 2018 when her degree of Alzheimer's and arthritis made it impossible for her to be adequately cared for at home. Since then both those conditions have continued to deteriorate. Throughout the whole of that time the care of Westy Hall staff given to her has always been excellent in all aspects of her care, both physically and emotionally. In addition to that the friendliness and helpfulness shown to us as her family has been a support to us too as we have seen her deterioration. They have always kept us updated about her medical condition and medication and, as necessary, have involved us in decision-making so we feel involved in her care. All staff are welcoming to us on our twice-weekly visits. Thank you so much, to all staff.
My mum was not keen on being in a care home and her care needs really required the support. The team at Westy have helped her settle really quickly and she is happy and well cared for, I could not have wanted for more thanks.
Lovely kind and caring staff treating my Nan like a member of their family, always happy to help and keep us updated, all staff are lovely to chat too always going above and beyond Thank you!
This care home is amazing, the staff are absolutely brilliant! They treat my mum like she’s a family member and make it home from home. Nothing is too much trouble, they are so caring and welcoming. The general feel and nature of the place is so warm and kind. They have also been so thoughtful and reassuring to myself and my dad we feel like Mum is in really good hands. The best we could want for her. There are lots of activities and a good food choice. The home is spotless and her room is pleasant. She has a lovely big smile on her face and that means the world to us. Thank you to all the staff, you make this place so special.
During my dad's stay at Westy Hall, the staff have been excellent. My dad passed away this morning, while I kept vigil during the past four days, the staff have been so kind to me - and have made sure my dad was comfortable. Thank you so much.
Dad has settled quickly thanks to the kind staff at Westy Hall. Well done to all and thanks.
Mum came to Westy Hall in May 2023 for respite and then became a full-time resident. The staff have been very caring and attentive to Mum from day one and work tirelessly to meet residents' needs. We visit regularly and have got to know the staff well, the care home has very much a family feel to it.
Amazing staff, go above and beyond, always happy and smiling when you enter. Nothing is too much. Caring and loveable staff who engage when visiting and as someone who works in the care industry this is much needed to know your family will be looked after properly.
My Dad was admitted to hospital last year just before Christmas. He wasn’t expected to survive but was allowed to return to Westy Hall to die with dignity. Because of the high standard of care and support provided by the Westy team, he rallied round and is still here to tell the tale. The care and love provided are second to none. From the amazing manager to every domestic and all staff in between, you are all amazing. Simply the best. Well done keep up the good work team Westy.
I only have positive comments for the staff. The care and understanding they have of the residents is amazing and especially the care, understanding and patience for my sister with learning disabilities and autism is outstanding.
My dad has been living at Westy Hall for over two years. He is very happy and comfortable there. As soon as you walk in I'm always greeted with a warm welcome by the staff whoever I happen to see. It's the staff that make Westy Hall a home for all the residents
The staff are excellent at Westy Hall, they treated my mother-in-law like a family member and there is a warm welcoming atmosphere there. The staff are very professional and the standard of care is excellent, that is all staff including domestic and kitchen staff. The activities programme is organised very well and shows an inclusion and encouragement approach. We were involved in every aspect and decision of my mother-in-law's care and we were always kept fully informed. We as a family would highly recommend Westy Hall. The only downfall is that the building needs to be updated.
Westy Hall has been wonderful for my mother for nearly 5 years. She entered with Alzheimer’s, in a very confused state as she wanted to know what had happened to her family, while not recognising us when we were with her. The staff could not have been better in reassuring her, coping when she wanted to return to her childhood home to be with her parents (long deceased), and helping the family to cope. As her dementia progressed, she saw Westy Hall as home and sometimes told me she had just come in from helping her father in the garden. Now, she speaks little and does not actively participate in the many activities available for residents, but staff continue to involve her in the life of the home. My father is now experiencing deteriorating health and has said his wish is soon to move to Westy Hall, having seen the quality of their care. There, he will also be close to his wife - who he visits frequently - and will be able to join her in the dining hall. An exemplary home, including through Covid.
