Westy Hall has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.583) out of 10, based on 16 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Westy Hall has 62 reviews.
Nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff and they always greet you with a smile and make you feel included and part an extended family.
I can't recommend Westy Hall enough due to the level of care and compassion that is shown not just to my dad but what I see towards other residents on a daily basis.
There is a real community within Westy with a number of families raising money for the new summerhouse that is nearly complete and families are involved in maintaining the garden by donating plants to make it an extension to the home that is enjoyable to sit out in and catch up with other families and residents.
We are so happy we found Westy hall and feel blessed that dad has settled in so well.
Thank you for youre lovely review,, to know you are reassured with Dad being cared for and feeling safe lets us know we are doing our roles right, It feels like you have all been here forever the way Dad and yourselves have fitted and settled in, as you say we are one big community and we are so...
My mother has been a resident for over 10 years now. She has had during that time the best care. The staff are wonderful and have taken good care of her. I would recommend it to anyone and we feel totally safe in leaving her there.
best wishes
Katya
My mother has been a resident at Westy Hall since 2018 and is now in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease and totally dependent on staff for all physical needs. Her inability to verbalise has required staff to adapt and develop the skills to anticipate her wants and needs. The staff who attend to her do so admirably, a key factor being that many of the staff who look after her now have known her since she moved in. Staff retention is crucial, and this is demonstrated at Westy, as many of those tending to her today were there when she took up residency in 2018. My family and I have an excellent relationship with staff and management. They keep us informed about any concerns, advise if they think my mother requires anything and have been wonderfully supportive to us over the years.
Thank you for your kind words, its comforting to know you feel reassured that Mums needs are being met, and if you have concerns you are comfortable in approaching the staff, as you acknowledge we pride ourselves on individual personalised care and our long standing staff status who share their...
The staff are really caring at Westy Hall, they really can't do enough for residents and always greet family with a friendly smile, Mums room is always nice and clean and the whole nursing home, the garden is lovely. I've seen them playing bingo and they keep family upto date on Facebook with what's going on.
best wishes
Katya & the team
Dementia hit mum very quickly, with a move from hospital to Westy straight away. All the team have been amazing! First impression on driving up to the building wasn't great BUT go past that and its a warm, friendly environment and the staff WOW caring, nuturing looking after everybody's individual needs. Nothing is too much for staff who take pride in their jobs and caring attitudes to residents and extended family to which I admire.
Thank you for your review, its pleasing to know you are happy with Mum's care and acknowledge that we thrive on person centred care and never have a blanket approach on any condition. We acknowledge the feedback around the building and this is something that is currently being reviewed...
Mum moved to Westy hall a couple of months ago, the staff are all lovely and very patient with the residents, they go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy there. The rooms are clean and the staff run regular activities for the residents. Mum settled in really quickly.
Thank you for the review, its good to know you feel mum is settled and that we are here to help and support both residents and relatives at any time, we also welcome any feedback that would help us improve our services to benefit the residents
best wishes
Katya and the team.
Continence needs met. Overall outstanding! Well done Team Westy x

We are delighted to hear that care plans, dietary requirements, wellbeing, and daily support were all delivered to a high standard. Providing person-centred care that supports dignity, comfort, independence, and social wellbeing is incredibly important to our team.
The care my relative receives has been consistent since she went into Westly almost 4 years ago. She has always been treated with care and consideration for her needs! She has complex needs, and they have been met. The staff go beyond their job, and the residents and their families get the support they need. I would myself have no hesitation in going into Westy if I ever did need residential care myself! Thank you, team Westy!
Best wishes on behalf of all the team.
After looking at several homes we decided on Westy Hall Mum wasn't happy about this but agreed to take the plunge She was initially quite happy and was willing to try it for a couple of months
Having been there for 10 months she is now happy and settled which came as a relief to our family
The staff speak to residents with great compassion treat them with patience and friendliness and i've heard this from behind closed doors in mums very pleasant and bright room while visiting
There have been trips out and events within the home that she has enjoyed
The building itself is ok and the gardens are a nice place to sit in the summer
We are all pleased with the way this stage of Mum's life is progressing, and can't thank the staff enough as we have our doubts if she would still be with us if left on her own at home
Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're so pleased to hear your mum is now happy and settled at Westy Hall. We're grateful for your trust and are honoured to support your mum at this stage of her life.
Highly recommended
Thank you for your caring words, as you know as soon as you come in you all become part of the extended family, we will always have our residents care at the heart of everything we do and never become complacent as we know there is always room for improvements, kind words and feedback is very much...
I think the home would benefit from some investment in the outdoor spaces/garden and front entrance. Also, a more efficient signing in system would help both those visiting residents and the staff. It feels like visitors are taking staff away from their work by asking them to open doors and sometimes they cannot always be there to let people in and out.
These recommendations/suggestions should not detract away from the main point, which is that the care is second to none at Westy and the atmosphere created is that everyone is welcome and loved. In just a few short months, there have been celebrations, days out, llama visits, games nights and pamper days, not to mention lots of birthday cakes. Wonderful care team making tough days much better, Westy Hall is really a special place.
Thank you so much for your review, it means a lot when we get feedback (even if not good as we want to always improve) each residents family become part of the Westy hall expanded family, I take on board your comments around booking in and out of the home, unfortunately visitors have to be reliant...
I have been visiting my sister over the past 12 months and cannot praise the staff to much. It is wonderful how they react with my sister and the other residents, also our family members who visit. Everything about the place is caring and welcoming. 10/10.
Thank you for your review it is much appreciated and even more rewarding when relatives are happy and comfortable with the care we provide to their loved ones, we always operate an open door policy for anyone involved with Westy hall Best wishes HM and the team
so blessed there was a room for her
Thank you for the review, its lovely to get feedback to know what we are doing is appreciated and that we do it because we care, we operate an open door policy at Westy Hall and if something isn't right then we encourage that feedback to so it can be put right. I really am proud to be part of a...
Management and staff have done everything they can to make Mum as comfortable and happy as possible. She has formed beautiful bonds with some of the carers, and when she has had small concerns, the home manager has dealt with these sensitively and effectively.
Mum has been treated with kindness and respect throughout her stay and her care has been excellent. When she arrived, she was dependant on insulin injections - after around 9 months, these were no longer required due to the fresh cooked meals.
We're approaching the last few days of Mum's life now, and the care she's receiving is exemplary.
Thank you to everyone at Westy Hall.
Thank you for the wonderful words, its been a pleasure to look after Mum and to get to know you as a family. Its always our aim to care for residents as we would want our own to be cared for, and when things are not right we will always do our best to act and discreetly put it right so everyone feels comfortable in raising anything with us.
Her room was painted before arrival & they have purchased new curtains too!
The only slight issue is that Mum is struggling to get on with the food. However the chef has helped to offer an alternative.
Thank you for your kind words, its comforting to know Mum has settled well with us at Westy, All the teams aims at Westy is to try and ensure everyone is treated with kindness, Dignity and respect and that they feel comfortable with their surroundings and able to voice their choices and opinions....
Amazing staff, personable, home from home. Would highly recommend. Love all the activities and inclusivity. Confidence your loved one is in the best care. A genuinely loving home. Credit to all the staff.
Thank you so much for the positive review, its a pleasure for every staff team member to be able to treat our residents as we would our own.We try our best to accommodate everyone's individual choices, and we are always open for suggestions on how we can better things for everyone, so any suggestions are very welcomedBest wishes from all at Westy
My wife has been in Westy Hall since 21st May 2018 when her degree of Alzheimer's and arthritis made it impossible for her to be adequately cared for at home. Since then both those conditions have continued to deteriorate. Throughout the whole of that time the care of Westy Hall staff given to her has always been excellent in all aspects of her care, both physically and emotionally. In addition to that the friendliness and helpfulness shown to us as her family has been a support to us too as we have seen her deterioration. They have always kept us updated about her medical condition and medication and, as necessary, have involved us in decision-making so we feel involved in her care. All staff are welcoming to us on our twice-weekly visits. Thank you so much, to all staff.
Thank you for your touching words and for sharing your wife's experience at Westy Hall. It's our priority to ensure both residents and their families feel cared for, informed, and involved, especially during challenging times. We appreciate your recognition of our team's efforts and are grateful for your trust in us.
My mum was not keen on being in a care home and her care needs really required the support. The team at Westy have helped her settle really quickly and she is happy and well cared for, I could not have wanted for more thanks.
Thank you for your kind words, it really makes the team know they are doing their best and ensuring your loved ones stay is a smooth transition for her in what we understand is a difficult time for anyone. It's a pleasure to care for your Mum and glad to know you both feel comfortable and settled.
Lovely kind and caring staff treating my Nan like a member of their family, always happy to help and keep us updated, all staff are lovely to chat too always going above and beyond Thank you!
We're delighted to hear that you feel content around the care your Nan receives with us here at Westy Hall, Our dedicated staff are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Please remember we operate an open-door policy at all times. Thank you for your kind words. Kind regards.
This care home is amazing, the staff are absolutely brilliant! They treat my mum like she’s a family member and make it home from home. Nothing is too much trouble, they are so caring and welcoming. The general feel and nature of the place is so warm and kind. They have also been so thoughtful and reassuring to myself and my dad we feel like Mum is in really good hands. The best we could want for her. There are lots of activities and a good food choice. The home is spotless and her room is pleasant. She has a lovely big smile on her face and that means the world to us. Thank you to all the staff, you make this place so special.
Kind regards,
Rahi.
