Wealstone

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We made the decision to place dad in Wealstone back in September after a lengthy stay in hospital. Initially I was very defensive and suspicious, but gradually realised how good the staff are in caring for people . Most of the carers have been there for a number of years and take great pride in their
work, this has helped our dad to settle quickly and our family relax knowing he is safe. From those in charge and everyone who works there, our family recommend Wealstone as a great place for loved ones to stay when they need help.

All care given with dignity promoting self-care. Time was taken to listen to food likes, dislikes and portion size.
Any problems were dealt with efficiently in good time. Most of the staff we found very helpful and time taken to explain care needs and progress.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
As a veteran with no prior knowledge of the medical profession, during my 80 years I was mildly impressed by the Rydal Care Home, nothing was too much trouble for the team within the unity and the entire regime was one of friendship, kindness, consideration and exceptional care at a time when I was
not fully aware due to medication of just how good Rydal Care home is.
Reply from Natalie Young, Home Manager at Rydal Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughtful review.
We are truly honoured by your kind words, particularly given your life experience and service as a veteran. To know that, even during a time when medication affected your awareness, you still felt the atmosphere of friendship, kindness, consideration, and care at Rydal Care Home means a great deal to us.
Our team works hard to ensure that nothing is ever too much trouble and that every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion-especially during vulnerable moments. Your feedback reassures us that these values are felt, not just intended.
On behalf of everyone at Rydal Care Home, thank you for trusting us with your care. We wish you continued comfort and well-being, and we are grateful you chose to share your experience with others.
Kind regards,
The Rydal Care Home Team

Hello, my auntie is a residence at Thornley house we've had nothing more than five star treatment. All the staff are very friendly and very welcoming. We feel like we are entering her home every time we go and visit her
she is having a lovely time there lots of activities and stuff to do every day
we have never seen her smile and laugh so much, she's more active and so happy. Can't recommend Thornley House and all the staff anymore. They have changed my auntie's life and can't thank them enough.

After much consideration mum, and the rest of the family, decided that a Care Home was the best way forward for her future care needs.
When a room became available at Greenacres we jumped at the opportunity.
This was based on testimonials from friends and relatives with previous experience.
Mum has
settled in incredibly well and is much more like her old self. Levels of interaction between staff and residents is very high.
Furthermore the staff are great and appear invested not only in the residents welfare but the Home itself.
Communication all round is excellent and every time I visit I get a good feeling from the place.

Choosing a care home can be a daunting time for families, and I can safely say this care home did everything they could to keep my aunt safe and well for 7 years.
This care home retains its staff, and professionals recommended it to me for their excellent infection control.
Staff are friendly and
their understanding of dementia patients is outstanding.
From walking into the care home in 2017 to leaving it in 2025 would like to say massive thanks to every single person that works at this home. We will never forget the kindness and compassion you all gave to our family - thank you x

It is obvious from the moment that you walk in, staff at Eagle View are extremely happy and professional at their work. This is displayed through the way they engage with their residents and visitors. Everyone is warm, friendly and compassionate in their manner.
Eagle View is one big friendly home.
It is clean, warm, bright, welcoming and is a vibe of activity. Where residents are happily engaged in a range of well thought out and well led activities in the lounge, or enjoying their meals in the cosy dining room.
Eagle View's management prioritised my father's health and wellbeing in a way that far exceeded my expectations, they went up and above. They drew on the expertise of a number of external partners to ensure that my father's needs were fully established and met. While all the time taking the care to always consult me and keep me fully informed.
I always feel welcome when I visit my father. When I leave I know I am leaving him with people who treat him like family.
Reply from Emine Tekis, Registered home manager at Eagle View Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and kind reflection on your experience at Eagle View. We are truly touched by your words. Our team takes great pride in creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment for our residents, and it means so much to hear that this is reflected in your visits.

We are especially grateful for your recognition of the care and attention we strive to provide, not only to our residents but also to their families. Ensuring your father's health and wellbeing, while keeping you informed and involved, is at the heart of what we do.

Your acknowledgment of our staff and management as "family" reinforces why we do what we do every day. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience-it's a wonderful encouragement to the whole Eagle View team.

My great auntie used to live 200 miles away and spent most of her days in bed in her own flat, we could only visit a few times a year due to distance so she had no one really only carers who went in for half hour 3 times a day, she had a fall a few months ago and we was told she hadn't long left and
needed round the clock care especially with being late 90s, we decided to move her to Thorley House which is local for family and wow what a difference, she is living again and is very happy, I can't recommend this care home enough and all the staff are doing a great job they have activities in the day and trips out and my great auntie is more mobile and happier than ever which is a massive relief to the small family she has, we are kept updated with photos and videos on social media which is great to see so thank you very much Thorley House and keep doing what you're doing

I spoke to my mother yesterday and she sounded so good. She said she was comfortable at Eagle View, had friends there, and felt that the staff are warm and take very good care of her. While we were talking, a staff member gave her a bag of her favorite crisps, and she said "that's what they do here,
they know these are my favorite and sometimes they just bring me some". She was so pleased. Living so far away from her, I am comforted to know that my mother is being so well cared for.
Reply from Emine Tekis, Registered home manager at Eagle View Care HomeThank you very much for sharing this with us. Moments like these mean a great deal to us, and we are especially pleased to know that the small, thoughtful gestures-such as bringing her favorite crisps-make her feel happy and valued. We understand how difficult it can be to be far away from a loved one, and we are grateful that we can provide you with reassurance that your mother is receiving attentive and compassionate care.

My dad was very poorly when he arrived at The Mowbray in April 2025 and from the moment of his arrival the staff could not have been more attentive to his very complex needs. The kindness, compassion and sheer professionalism shown towards him by staff at all times was so appreciated by myself and my
family. Dad was a very private man - he didn't want to socialise outside of his room but company was brought to him and he spoke highly of every one, including the lovely therapy dog, and he loved the food! Thanks so much to one special staff member (you know who you are!) who gave us regular updates as dad neared his end. He passed the early hours of the morning after his 89th and he couldn't have been given a better send off with the fuss they made of him the day before. A heartful thank you.
Reply from Julie Barraclough, Manager at Mowbray Nursing HomeThank you so very much for the wonderful words of kindness; it means so much to the staff. It was our absolute pleasure to look after your wonderful father, who was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He had a wonderful and supportive family around him, which made him so happy . He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Thank you once again and I will pass this message to the special one

My mom has been looked after at Wordsley Hall for just over two years. At first mom wasn't happy as she didn't want to leave her home but her condition - Vascular Dementia led her to being incapable of caring for herself, and has started to wonder off making it unsafe for her on her own. Wordsley Hall
staff have been incredible with their patience, and care, and understanding by making mom feel happy and safe. She is enjoying her life there now. She loved the activities organised, crafts, and joins in the entertainment, she's a different woman now. Thanks to the wonderful staff who have become her family. Its a pleasure to visit her. Thank you, always feel welcome.

My father has been at this care home for two years. I have been impressed by several aspects -
1. Very caring staff. Welcoming to visitors and great with residents.
2. Cleanliness
3. A safe environment
4. For me, as a relative, the excellent administration from admission through recent challenges
regarding my father's circumstances, the management and administration has been first rate - caring, professional and efficient.

My Mother Dania has been a resident at Redhill for nearly twelve months on the Dementia suite.
During her stay we have got to know the staff quite well. Both my wife and myself have been so impressed with the care Mum receives, we are also shown a great deal of compassion as we find mum's situation
very difficult to deal with.
The staff have a very challenging job which I certainly could not do
I would always be confident that Mum is in great hands, the staff are attentive, friendly, and compassionate with the residents who have conditions that would try the patience of a saint.
So well done Dulcie and Zoltan and all the staff keep on doing what your doing, a fantastic job.

My wife has now been in Waterside Care Centre for more than 8 months (she has advanced dementia) during that time I have only seen kindness and affection towards her from the manager and all the staff. Regardless of their jobs when they go past her they stop and try to engage with her to make her smile.
All the staff male and female have a great understanding of all the residents. Keep up the good work Waterside, and on behalf of myself and family a very big thank you for the care you give my wife.

Broadgate Nursing Home

My Stepdad came here from hospital for end of life care for just over 2 weeks. My mum had died the day before. The staff at the care home took care of me as well as my stepdad.
I was welcome to stay, come and go as I needed.
They even made sure I'd eaten and provided me with meals, (which they have
a menu choice and are nutritionally well balanced). My stepdad had help to eat and the staff didn't rush him, they chatted to him and read his body language as he couldn't talk very well.
They were respectful and professional staff. They are caring and friendly as a group of colleagues with one another.
Having spent time here at all hours of the day/night, I found all staff to be caring, compassionate and respectful to all the patients I saw/heard them interact with.
Reply from Lukasz Holewik, Registered Manager at Broadgate Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience. We are truly sorry for the loss of your mum and stepdad. We understand how difficult this time must have been for you and your family. It means a great deal to us to know that our team was able to provide comfort and support, not only to your stepdad but also to you during such a challenging period.
We strive to create a caring and compassionate environment where every individual feels respected and valued, and your words affirm that commitment. Your appreciation for the staff's attentiveness, patience, and kindness is deeply encouraging and will be shared with the entire team.
Please know that we are always here if you need anything in the future. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review.
Warm regards,
Lukasz
