The Cedars has been purpose-designed to offer a homely setting, with a pleasant social atmosphere for older people with care needs. The home is very much a part of village life, with many residents from the immediate vicinity. Friends and family regularly pass through the home to visit residents and there is a family feel between residents and the care team, who are well established and have worked in the home for many years. The home is set within beautiful grounds and has well established gardens for residents’ enjoyment.

We as a family, were very happy with the care that mum had from all the staff. They are all very patient and caring, and this is very reassuring. Mum was very well looked after and she was happy. That is the most important thing when you place a family member in residential care. I would recommend The
Cedars to anyone in our situation.

Our mum has been at The Cedars for just over 2 years. She is very settled and well looked after. It is definatly the right care home for her. All the staff are excellent with mum and when we visit. We are always met with a friendly welcome. We are kept informed of any requirements mum may need and are
updated with any medical information. 100% the staff make this a lovely home.

it's nearly two years that Mum has been at the Ceders and we are more than happy with her care there.
Having worked in social care for over 30 years i understand the need for high quality care, and i am happy to say that's what she gets at the Ceders. We enjoy seeing the activities on social media
and can tell that everyone enjoys that.
The staff are very approachable and keep us up to date with everything, nothing is too much trouble.
When the drinks come round we are always offered one which is lovely, the cakes etc always look amazing, plenty on offer for everyone.
Any health needs are dealt with quickly so we have total confidence that Mum is in the safest hands possible. Thanks to everyone at the Ceders.
Reply from Rahi Joshi, Marketing Associate at The CedarsThank you so much for your wonderful review and continued support of The Cedars. If we had to find something to complain about we would find it difficult to find any problems. My mum is a resident at Cedars, and loves it there including the cleanliness, hygiene, food and the care. As her daughter I am always made very welcome by the staff who all seem to be like one big happy family.
The staff do lots of activities baking, bingo, hang man, card making keep fit excercises singing and lots more. They organise great theme days eg.St George's day and Xmas with bunting put up, they do birthday parties for each resident too.
Reply from Rahi Joshi, Marketing Associate at The Cedarshank you, Jane, for your wonderful review and kind feedback about The Cedars.

Since my mum has entered last October the staff have done an amazing job 1. In taking time to get to know mum and her ways to be able to read her and assist her in a way that still makes her feel like an Independant adult. 2. The diligence over her skin care is top class, her skin has never been in
such good condition.
The activities are varied and accessible to all. Mum has made many friends.
No matter when you go the home is clean and always smells fresh. The staff are all approachable happy to answer any queries and if anything changes one of them is straight on the phone to update. We were worried as mum has always lived in her own home but we shouldn't have in my opinion the Cedars is a great place and truly care about their residents.
Reply from Nicky Gallimore, Home Manager at The CedarsThank you for your touching review. We're honoured to have cared for your mum at The Cedars. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and we're glad to know our support brought comfort to your family

My father has been at the Cedars for several years now, during that time he has been well looked after by caring staff who have the residents interests at heart. If there are any isues with his health I am notified straight away by phone. Any decisions regarding my father are discussed with him and
myself, before being implemented, so you are part of the process and not a bystander. From the manager down you are always kept informed. My father has made friends at the Cedars and is very happy there, the ultimate desire of any potential resident/family member. I cannot fault the Cedars and am grateful that my father is a resident there.

I am very pleased with the home. My mother moved into The Cedars three months ago and loves it there! Her room is bright and airy and always kept very clean and tidy. The staff and management are great! extremely welcoming, professional and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. I know
she is well looked after. My mother really enjoys the home cooked meals, and especially the tea and biscuit breaks! The outside garden space is lovely, and she enjoys to sit in the conservatory and watch the birds and squirrels. There is regular entertainment and weekly activities to join in if she wishes. I can't fault The Cedars and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

My mum has now been resident of The Cedars for 8 weeks following a stroke and a 5 week stay in hospital. Her care has been exceptional. All the staff are so kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and as relatives we are welcomed so nicely upon each visit - in my case almost every day because
I live just a mile away. Mums bedroom and en-suite has a big window overlooking the garden. Her room is kept immaculately clean.
The food ( according to mum) is really lovely, lots of variety and delicious puddings. I cannot thank the team at The Cedars enough for all the care the have shown to my mum.

Mum has been a resident at the Cedars since July 2025. Diagnosed with vascular dementia, she couldn't care for herself at home. We chose the Cedars for its warm welcome and clean, fresh environment. Walking around the home felt homely. Nine months later, Mum looks better than she has in a while. The
staff are caring and friendly and communication with family is good - they keep us informed.

My friend is 92 years and I can honestly say that in the 25+ years that I've known her, I have never seen her as happy and content as she is since she moved into The Cedars three months ago. She likes it so much that she refused to come out for an afternoon to see a live performance of 'songs from the
shows'! She tells me how good the food is, how helpful the staff are to her and how calm + organised everything is.

My Mum has been resident at The Cedars for almost a year and my family would not want her to be anywhere else. She has been very happy throughout her stay , her room is always spotlessly clean and the food looks excellent. I can't fault The Cedars and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.793)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.793) out of 10 for The Cedars is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.793 for The Cedars is calculated as follows: ( (292 Excellents x 5) + (52 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 353 Ratings = 4.793
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Cedars is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
