The Cedars

Mum has been a resident at the Cedars since July 2025. Diagnosed with vascular dementia, she couldn't care for herself at home. We chose the Cedars for its warm welcome and clean, fresh environment. Walking around the home felt homely. Nine months later, Mum looks better than she has in a while. The staff are caring and friendly and communication with family is good - they keep us informed.

My friend is 92 years and I can honestly say that in the 25+ years that I've known her, I have never seen her as happy and content as she is since she moved into The Cedars three months ago. She likes it so much that she refused to come out for an afternoon to see a live performance of 'songs from the shows'! She tells me how good the food is, how helpful the staff are to her and how calm + organised everything is.

Our experience was wonderful. We came to visit a good friend, Keith, at The Cedars. It was extremely lovely and friendly places the staff helped us, feel welcome and part of the family. Its a beautiful invironment and all staff extremely professional on every level. We feel proud to say that we would recommend everyone to put family members into The Cedars care home. 100% Sattisfied.

Our mother, Audrey, has been extremely well looked after during the last two years and her needs very well met. All staff are friendly, considerate and patient and we have had confidence our mother was being looked after with dignity. The Cedars really became home from home for her. We will always be very grateful for the excellent care she has received whilst living there

I have been here over 4 years, and my wife was here before me but she died in November 2021 and if I hadn't come here I would have been living alone in my bungalow. Here I have a good relationship with the staff, and everybody, I enjoy the entertainment that is laid on, and if I need anything, the staff will get it for me.

The staff are so kind and caring and have been looking after my mum for 2 years, and I wouldn't of put her anywhere else, I know she well looked after, and she has made lots of friends.

My Mum has been resident at The Cedars for almost a year and my family would not want her to be anywhere else. She has been very happy throughout her stay , her room is always spotlessly clean and the food looks excellent. I can't fault The Cedars and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I have found the staff so welcoming and friendly but most importantly, I have seen how caring, polite and patient they are with both my Mum and all other residents. The managerial staff and carers are always sharp and attentive to the needs of my Mum and my family and I will always be grateful to them for all their hard work in ensuring my Mum is as happy and comfortable as possible.

My sister has been in the cedars for many years ,we have always been very happy with her care . They do there very best to to entertain and are always finding new and interesting things to do. Helen is very happy and always has good things to say about everyone . All the staff are very kind and friendly

My dad was a resident at the Cedars from Nov. 2024 to September 2025, when he passed away peacefully in his sleep. The staff were so loving and caring - I cannot fault them. When my sister and I visited him, they were always welcoming and friendly. The setting itself is smart, comfortable and rather impressive. I will always be grateful to all the staff at The Cedars for their care of my lovely dad.

Resident for 2 weeks post operative care. Nursing care was exemplary. All staff were kind and considerate and always made any visitors feel very welcome. Management are efficient and this is evident within the home. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Would like to say how grateful we all are as a family to the Cedars staff team.

I contacted The Cedars after my Mum had a fall and was admitted to hospital, and to request if there was availability for Mum to be discharged to the home which is in Mum's home village. The nurse attended the hospital straightaway and confirmed that she could, when ready be discharged. I was able to view a couple of rooms beforehand and access the room I chose for Mum so it was ready with her personal stuff on discharge. Sadly my Mum was only resident there for about 6 weeks before passing, but during that time everyone at The Cedars was lovely to Mum and looked after all her needs. They arranged transport for a hospital visit and kept my sister & I fully updated on how Mum was doing, changes to medication etc. During her last few days the staff were a comfort to Mum, spending time sitting with her and when we visited they would talk to us about how she was doing. After Mum had passed, when we went to her room a few days later they had left a lovely poem and white rose on her pillow.

My auntie has really enjoyed her stay at The Cedars and has been well looked after and very happy here. Thanks to all of the staff.

My father moved a few months ago to The Cedars and we have been very impressed with the quality of care shown to him. The home is very clean and to a high standard of maintenance, he always says the meals he has are excellent. The staff and management are most welcoming and attentive and keep us informed of any issues or needs he may have.

My aunt has never been so happy. It is a joy to see her smiling and engaged and joining in with the activities. The staff are awesome. Outstanding care. Family are informed and get involved. Staff are caring and responsive. Clean and welcoming environment.

Very friendly staff. Warm welcome and homely environment. Very accommodating and understanding of residents' needs. Nothing is too much trouble.

They also do a lot of arts and crafts.

Throughout my mother-in-law's four weeks of respite care, we were very impressed with the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of all staff across the entire care home. Everyone seemed genuinely happy in their job and to care with love. Staff were very attentive at all times and took the time to engage with my mother-in-law, encouraging her to join in with the community as much as she was able. She enjoyed the company of both staff and the other residents, who were very friendly and supportive, and particularly enjoyed the dance performance. All staff were ready to listen to relatives and adapted her menu to her needs to support her to eat safely. Staff were helpful and informative, working with relatives to ensure that my mother-in-law was safe and as happy as possible and liaising with the GP to pass on any health concerns. Every one of the Cedars staff is amazing, their hard work, dedication and care make all the difference and are very much appreciated.

The Cedars have provided a very good service to not only my mother but the family. They have met her needs totally until recently when my mum has needed to move to a nursing home. My mum has been treated really well by all the staff who complete their role professionally but most of all are friendly and approachable. We have always been consulted with regard to care planning and involvement of other agencies. As her needs have changed the manager has always discussed matters with us. We are sorry my mum couldn't stay.
