Kingfisher Care Home

So far I have visited on 9 occasions in 8 days, however I have never seen the activities organiser.

This care home is excellent in all fields of care for my mother. Polite and treat people with dignity and care. The staff from cleaning to care staff nurses and catering is 100% excellent.

Kingfisher Care Home looks after all residents with care and respect. Taking time to make sure all their needs are met. Love that they are asked to make a wish and it is granted for them.

It is always clean and tidy ,all staff are very professional and polite.

My mam became a resident of kingfisher around a year and a half ago and in that time I have found it to be a welcoming and friendly place for her to live. The staff are very caring and attentive and I feel they always have her best needs at heart. The home overall is clean and well looked after and the rooms comfortable and kept tidy by the domestic staff. I know mam enjoys the food and it always looks wholesome and varied. There is a selection of activities each day and they encourage residents to join in and be social. The medical staff are very aware of mams needs and always report anything I need to know. They are on top of everything that needs to be done. Overall I am very pleased that kingfisher is the place she now lives

I regularly visit my mam and always get a cup of tea from the carers. We often sit in the garden room which is lovely. Mam is always dressed nicely . She's not a one for mixing but she's never left in her room. Always encouraged to watch a film or do activities. Often see her on Kingfisher social media page which I absolutely love. She is v well fed. She is always eating ! Entertainers are regularly performing at Kingfisher and summer/Christmas fairs are a great time to meet families of other residents. All staff are dedicated to the home, cleaning staff, laundry staff, maintenance, carers , supervisors and managers. The carers are amazing with my Mam. She can be difficult at times but they reassure her and she is so well looked after. Me and my family are always made so welcome. It was v traumatic for me to have to put mam in a care facility but straight away I knew she would be well looked after. It's been nearly a year now and I could not be happier with the level of care mam receives

Always 'on the ball' regarding his health and any problems arising. They always contact me if there is/has been a problem.

I cannot praise the staff enough. Cleaners are always ensuring her bin is changed , toilet etc cleaned, her appetite is very poor and the cook took the time to learn what my mum liked. The Nurses and care staff are an amazing team and tell me not to be worried about asking for anything. It is lovely to hear them laughing with the residents. Yes there has been a few glitches only because they are getting to know my mum and once I've raised it with them they have ensured it's rectified.. The manager can be very much seen and is approachable she has done the best to accommodate my requests.

My father joined Kingfisher Care Home in December 2023 - followed by my mother in January 2024. They both receive exceptional care. My father died in March 2025 and up until that time was treated lovingly and with utmost respect and dignity from all the staff, domestics, chefs, carers - my mum continues to be cared for at Kingfisher - the support she gets from all the staff is amazing - she is not coping well since my Dad died and is offered the exact amount of support and sympathy. As a family - we are made welcome and also offered excellent support and always a friendly and listening ear to any issues.

Mam has been a resident for over 2 years. I have seen a lot of improvement in the last 6 months, lots more activities, cleanliness of communal areas and the introduction of a reading corner! The staff are very friendly and I feel my Mam is in the best place to care for her needs.

Kingfisher is a very caring environment. Staffing is excellent. The staff are very approachable. Plenty of space and areas to sit and move about. Very secure and safe for residents. Good activities to cover the needs of everyone. Office staff are always helpful and friendly. I have recommended friends of Mum and families. Would like to see more staff.

My wife has early-onset frontotemporal dementia. She is only 64 and has been a resident at Kingfisher since July 2022. I have always been happy with the care she has received and the way they have adapted her care plan over the years to meet the decline in her presentation of the illness. Any concerns I have had, have always been listened to and satisfactorily resolved. She is well cared for and, although she cannot communicate, seems to be happy. The staff are great and really do care for the residents. The place is constantly being cleaned and is well maintained. The food always looks good and the menu is varied. I've had Christmas dinner there every year with my wife, and it's been really nice. I have no hesitation in recommending Kingfisher Care Home, it has certainly met our needs.

The home my mum was previously in was so poor that we visited multiple times a week to ensure she was safe and fed, we have none of these worries with Kingfisher as we know she is very well taken care of.

Great carers, good atmosphere, well kept very clean. Standards are very good. Staff really look after the residents well, with lots of activities for those who are able to partake. Plenty of events planned, i.e. singers, animal visits, Easter eggs and loads more.

After a long stay in hospital, Mum was moved to Kingfisher Care Home. She was very poorly in the hospital, and her recovery since being at Kingfisher is remarkable. All staff are very caring and kind, and I am always greeted with a smile and an immediate update on how Mum is! The staff's care and compassion are special, given the sometimes challenging circumstances they have to deal with.

My mam had vascular dementia and was in Kingfisher for over 3.5 years, arriving during covid lockdown and resident until her passing in February 2024. She did not initially recognise that she needed to be in a home and was initially troubled, however was treated with kindness, patience and dignity by the staff throughout, and became accepting of care. The home kept her safe during covid and is well-managed and clean. The building is a light modern building with a central courtyard which seems fit for purpose for dementia sufferers, and I observed staff doing regular thorough cleaning. Mam received good in-house nursing care, who escalated promptly and appropriately to the Dr and hospital during some medical emergencies which she had. All the staff that I saw throughout were patient, kind and caring. They were very helpful to me after bereavement.

(My dad's room/bathroom was always clean, and we felt assured that his personal hygiene needs, incl. shaving, mouthcare and other things were being attended to; any issues with his medication was discussed with us and addressed).

My mother-in-law settled here very well and is very content. We are really pleased with the home and its staff. It is so much better than the last home she was in. There always seems to be plenty of activities for the residents and opportunities for families to be involved in certain events.

The staff were compassionate and caring about my husband's needs.
