Mum came into Garswood House, despite us not knowing if we were doing the right things. Our worries were deeply unfounded. The first 2 weeks were the most difficult due to mums change of environment. However after the 2 weeks mum is for happier + far more settled than she has been for the last couple
of years. The staff are brilliant and always pleased to see you and are very informant of doctors visits, illness etc. The staff have definitely made mums transition into a care home far easier that possibly expected.

Extremely happy with the care provided for my dad whilst in temporary respite. Staff are extremely caring and helpful in regards to the care they provide and communication. Personally, I don't think we could have found a better place for dad's recuperation. Heart felt thanks to all, from all the family.

My mum has just returned home from enjoying a respite visit. It was wonderful in every way. The home is immaculate and every member of staff so friendly and caring. Noting was too much trouble. She ate well and enjoyed making friends. She even went out on a boat trip. Everyone made my mum feel so welcome.
Her room was beautifully prepared, and she just relaxed from the very start. Before booking respite, we had visited around a dozen local homes, and this was her standout favourite. It lived up to all our expectations and she is looking forward to staying again.

My Mum has been in the care home for over 12 months now, she does seem to have settled but, I'm not happy with the activities, there is not enough going on for the residents. My Mum is constantly complaining that there aren't enough meal options, this has been addressed numerous times. My other concern
is staffing, I, as a visitor, have noticed very minimum staff on shift.

This is a fabulous place to live. The manager, the deputy, and the rest of the wonderful team make this home an actual true home. The care team are always so happy and smiley. Nothing is too much trouble. The team adore my mum. There is so much stimulation due to the events lady. Whenever I visit the
residents and care assistants are together in the lovely lounges. There is a quiet space for those who prefer and the garden is beautiful.
The health and wellbeing of every person is at the top of everyone's agenda.
My mum has dementia and the wonderful team are so kind and patient. I left mum yesterday laughing and singing. I couldn't ask for more.
You are the best Thorley House.

I highly recommend this care home.
My mum meant the world to me and I needed that reassurance that she was going to get looked after, cared for in a way that she so much deserved and that is exactly what she received. We always found the staff very friendly, polite, helpful and supportive. The manager
was very professional and compassionate as were all of her team, the carers, cleaners, cooks, entertainment staff, they saw to my mums every need, were there at the press of a button, they would look in on her just to ask if she needed anything, a bit of company, nothing was to much trouble for them. Mum very sadly passed away in here and there was no better place that I would have preferred her to be, she was treated with respect and dignity they were amazing.

After a difficult period of decline in health and memory, my mum made her own decision to give it a go in Thorley house .
She moved in at the end of September 2024 , initially for respite and now remains as a resident.
It's so reassuring to know that your relative is not only being cared for , but
treated with respect and dignity.
It's clear to see that each resident is treated as an individual with differing wants and needs, and the activities coordinated by a lovely
member of staff, are fully inclusive, offering the residents choices to participate or not.
The rooms and communal areas are spotless, and all levels of staff are ready to stop and chat with the residents, and visitors alike.
A big thank you to all the senior care staff (in particular a few specific members of staff) who are so proactive in trying to manage mums health condition, as are all other members of staff far too many to mention individually.
You all do a wonderful job, and make a difficult decision much easier

All the staff have made mum feel welcome and cared for. She tells all of her visitors how lovely the staff are, how she enjoys the company and the food and that she couldn't be anywhere better. The home provides a warm, welcoming and clean environment. It is reassuring to see how the caring and hardworking
staff look after and interact with the residents. I feel that the home would benefit from a dropped kerb/ramp at the front of the building which would be helpful when taking residents out in a wheelchair. I believe this is being discussed with the landlord.
