I visited my friend without an appointment, along with another friend. The staff were very pleasant with us. Although she was in the lounge with other residents we took her back to her bedroom for a personal conversation. The bedroom was very clean and tidy our friend was brought mid morning coffee
and biscuits. We were offered a drink when we were leaving an activities member of staff came to speak with our friend. Lovely experience.

Hello, my auntie is a residence at Thornley house we've had nothing more than five star treatment. All the staff are very friendly and very welcoming. We feel like we are entering her home every time we go and visit her
she is having a lovely time there lots of activities and stuff to do every day
we have never seen her smile and laugh so much, she's more active and so happy. Can't recommend Thornley House and all the staff anymore. They have changed my auntie's life and can't thank them enough.

After much consideration mum, and the rest of the family, decided that a Care Home was the best way forward for her future care needs.
When a room became available at Greenacres we jumped at the opportunity.
This was based on testimonials from friends and relatives with previous experience.
Mum has
settled in incredibly well and is much more like her old self. Levels of interaction between staff and residents is very high.
Furthermore the staff are great and appear invested not only in the residents welfare but the Home itself.
Communication all round is excellent and every time I visit I get a good feeling from the place.

My great auntie used to live 200 miles away and spent most of her days in bed in her own flat, we could only visit a few times a year due to distance so she had no one really only carers who went in for half hour 3 times a day, she had a fall a few months ago and we was told she hadn't long left and
needed round the clock care especially with being late 90s, we decided to move her to Thorley House which is local for family and wow what a difference, she is living again and is very happy, I can't recommend this care home enough and all the staff are doing a great job they have activities in the day and trips out and my great auntie is more mobile and happier than ever which is a massive relief to the small family she has, we are kept updated with photos and videos on social media which is great to see so thank you very much Thorley House and keep doing what you're doing

After being slightly unsettled for the first couple of weeks my Mum began to love being there.. All the staff from domestics, carers, kitchen staff, maintenance men and the managers, and activities ladies were absolutely fabulous and so caring.
She had her own little room with everything she needed,
the bathroom was just across the corridor from her room.
There was activities most weeks which she enjoyed joining in, something she has never bothered with before. The food is fabulous and Mum has never eaten so well. You can visit any time that you want to and always made to feel welcome.
If she wanted a chat there was always someone there for her.
Mum was in there for approximately 19 months, she had her 94th birthday in there 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately Mum passed away last week unexpectedly, she wasn't poorly it was just old age. We were treated with compassion by all the staff.
I wouldn't hesitate to put any relative in Lakeland care home, they are so caring.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad has been a resident at Ancliffe for over 2 years, and is extremely happy and settled. Dad has Parkinson's, but is mentally in excellent condition. The staff are amazing, caring and lovely people. They spend time chatting with dad and are also welcoming on our frequent visits. Dad has been very
ill this summer, after a fall and fractured femur. The staff have gone out of their way to care for him and support him. He calls it home. Ancliffe might not have the best kerb appeal, and the rooms may be small, but it is a home filled with love and care - it is brilliant, and we as a family love it and the staff.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Very pleased with the care Golborne House provides to my Mum. The staff are absolutely amazing. They can't do enough for the residents. So friendly, caring and really look after my Mum. Whenever we go (which is several times a week) the staff are always smiling and welcoming. There are plenty of activities
for the residents which is great to see and the staff really seem to enjoy putting them on. My Mum loves the food and she is certainly eating more than she did when she was at home which is good for her. All the staff know my Mum well and have taken the time to understand what she's like and what she wants. The home always seems clean and smells fresh and Mum's room is always clean and tidy whenever we go. We know my Mum is safe there and we know she is well looked after. Mum herself says she is glad she is there now, which is a comfort to use as it's not an easy decision to put a loved one in care, but it's a decision we are now happy with thanks to Golborne House.

Mum came into Garswood House, despite us not knowing if we were doing the right things. Our worries were deeply unfounded. The first 2 weeks were the most difficult due to mums change of environment. However after the 2 weeks mum is for happier + far more settled than she has been for the last couple
