My dad has a good relationship with the staff & other residents and I feel that all his wants & needs are taken care of. His room is always clean & tidy. He has enjoyed quite a few trips out lately.

Mum was a residents at Ancliffe for 3yrs until she passed away recently, the staff are the most amazing carers who go above and beyond for their residents and families, the manager is one of the nicest people who I know, I can't put into words how us as a family feel about everyone who works their. Thank you all so much for your care, love and understanding.

Dad had a 12 day stay for respite care.
He really enjoyed sitting in the garden. He'd had his haircut and joined in the activities.
He said his room had been comfortable and on the whole had enjoyed his meals.

My nan moved in last month and we are very happy with the care she is receiving. She is encouraged by the carers daily to partake in activities and she only has positive things to say about 'the girls'.

Lorraine has settled into Lyndhurst very well, prior to her going in she was very addgitated and nervous but the staff have been brilliant talking to her and reassuring her everything will be ok, on my resent visit she told me she was happy and felt better than she as for a long time. I have no concerns that she is being looked after, it really is a lovely place to visit and staff are amazing.

I have had a good experience here at Lyndhurst. The staff has been wonderful caring and extremely helpful. They have helped me to adjust to my surroundings.

The food is great ... just have to adjust to 'Lobbay'

I believe the home is the best home my mum should live. It is clean and the staff give the care my mum needs. I feel comfortable my mum living there. I have no concerns or complaints at all. I know i can speak to a member of staff at anytime.

My husband went into respite at thorley house for a week, , when we picked him today he was extremely happy, he was very clean well kept and shaved, he was chatty, as much as Fred can, his mobility was better which was lovely to see. Mel and her team are brilliant, very friendly, always available and willing to help, which is a godsend for myself and my family who know that he is safe and well cared for why we have a break, i would definitely 100% recommend thorley house to anyone who is thinking of using a care home , many thanks mel and Co x

My dad went into respite at Thorley house on the 20th June 2026 until th 2nd July.
The staff where excellent from dropping him off, showing us his room etc to when we picked him up.
He was very happy when we picked him up and said he would definitely stay again, which make us as a family happy because we can go away knowing he is in very safe hands and hes happy to be there.
I would definitely recommend Thorley house to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one.

Mel and her team are brilliant, very friendly and happy to help in anyway they can.

Both mum and myself were apprehensive about mum going into a residential care home for respite. However, she soon settled in and was made to feel very welcome and cared for by the staff and soon made friends with the other residents

I must admit I was a little apprehensive at the thought of my friend having to move into a care home. I need not have worried, the care she is receiving, and the kindness and affection with which she is given in lovely to see. I cannot pick one single individual out, they are all wonderful.

I have had issues with missing things, easter egg, socks new top and wedding ring. All reported to management. The activities are good with excellent staff leading. What I find off putting is the smell of urine in the corridors, especially in the morning. The staff are excellent and very caring. Overall my wife is happy here she gets on very well with the staff. Obviously she would rather be at home but unfortunately I am unable to look after her. I would recommend this care home because of the staff.

Overall Experience

Initially I spent two periods of respite at Lyndhurst were I was treated extremely well by the staff. When it became necessary to become a full time resident I had no reservations returning to Lyndhurst. They continued to provide excellent care, and ensuring my everyday needs are met. My wishes regarding privacy have been met at all times. I am able to interact with all staff members which greatly reacts to my daily routine and overall well being.

My mum add come into Lakelands in April 2026, she was in for 1 month but wanted to go home. She went back home in May, but after 2 weeks of being at home her health had gone down hill, she decided she wanted to go back to stay there permanent, I can't thank the staff the manager Gill enough.
