My dad has been a resident at Ancliffe for over 2 years, and is extremely happy and settled. Dad has Parkinson's, but is mentally in excellent condition. The staff are amazing, caring and lovely people. They spend time chatting with dad and are also welcoming on our frequent visits. Dad has been very
ill this summer, after a fall and fractured femur. The staff have gone out of their way to care for him and support him. He calls it home. Ancliffe might not have the best kerb appeal, and the rooms may be small, but it is a home filled with love and care - it is brilliant, and we as a family love it and the staff.

My dad has been in Ancliffe for 2 and half years. The staff have cared for him with dignity and respect. My dad has always felt safe and enjoyed his in Ancliffe. Dad sadly became unwell and got poorly. The staff in Ancliffe care for dad throughout his short end of life journey. He had wanted to end
his days in Ancliffe and this was made possible. The staff also went above and beyond to make sure myself and extended family had everything we needed. I will never forget how lovely everyone was to my dad and myself. He received exceptional care.

The staff at Ancliffe are amazing, they go out of their way to help and care for residents. When my grandad was on end-of-life care, their compassion and empathy were outstanding. They supported us through a really difficult time and ensured our last days were pleasant and my grandad was comfortable
and well looked after. He was in Ancliffe for two and a half years and he really settled and enjoyed it. The staff make this place.

My Mum has been living here for several years and is very happy. In fact, it makes me smile and happy when I take her back to my house or out for the afternoon when she says I need to go back they will be worrying about where I am. Also when I go to her room she shows me how nice to is and how happy
she is in it. The staff are lovely and she never complains about them. I would be happy living in Ancliffe if I needed care.

I would like to thank all the staff at Ancliffe Care Home, without a doubt the whole team went above and beyond to ensure our dad's stay was a safe and enjoyable experience.
The whole of the staff made our dad's 1st stay there a very pleasant one. We as a family felt assured that he was in the best
and safe hands whilst our mum had a hip replacement. Amazing team and thank you.

Always feel Mum is safe when she's in there, and when I visit, the staff are all really lovely, and I feel that they genuinely love all the residents. Mum took a few months to settle when she went in, thankful, the Covid restrictions had lifted so we could visit anytime. Always activities going on,
and we try and support them whenever we can. We are so lucky she's in Ancliffe, now she's in a routine and has made friends with other residents and staff. I have great communication with the staff.

My Dad is a relatively recent resident at Ancliffe but I can say without hesitation that it is the best facility he has ever experienced. He is already saying that he is really enjoying living there and he has visibly improved in his appearance, his attitude, and his mood. What more could a family wish
for? The home is extremely well led and all staff go above and beyond to make sure residents are well cared for and valued. They take an interest in those they care for and are very attentive. They listen to relatives and are quick to respond to any queries by phone or email. They find solutions and get on with making things happen. Dad's room is clean and warm, as are all the communal areas. I have seen the food, it's all home-cooked and looks very appetising. I am so glad that I moved Dad from his previous place. When I leave Ancliffe I know that Dad is in the best hands possible. Thank you.

Excellent supportive and informative help always given. Ancliffe Care Home is always clean and all staff conduct themselves in a professional manner. In particular, the manager has always provided full support, particularly through the covid pandemic. Always something going on to keep the residents
engaged and participative. I would recommend Ancliffe to anybody looking for residential 'support'. A very friendly and reassuring environment.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.435)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.435) out of 10 for Ancliffe is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.635 for Ancliffe is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.635
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ancliffe is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
