I am not happy with my loved one's care. He is always wet whenever I visit and I have to change his underwear and trousers. He always needs a shave. He has had a rash on his genitals for quite some time due to sitting in wet pants. His room is always in a poor state. He wees on the floor accidentally
and then walks in it which leads to a bad smell. He has dementia and I think the "stimulation" is absent. More often than not only one toilet is available due to the others being blocked. I realise the staff are under pressure due to staff shortages and the current CQC situation but I really hope things can be 'turned' around for everyone sake as it used to be such a happy place.

On behalf of my parish society of St Vincent de Paul (S.V.P) I have for several years visited a gentleman at Broadgate Nursing Home. He died last month. Throughout my time of visiting all the staff, from the receptionist, the managers, the nurses, the care assistants and the laundry staff demonstrated
to the gentleman in question deep care, concern and attention. He was after unable to speak or communicate but still have him time and clearly knew him as an individual. He was given his dignity as a human being at a time when he was in need of others for his most basic needs. His Christian beliefs were shown great respect. I was always made to feel very welcome. The home and the staff were family to him and I was made to feel part of this. Thank you and god bless.

My dad has been at Falcon House for nearly 2 years now. He is quite settled there and appears to be happy in spite of his advancing Alzheimer's. The home is warm and friendly, clean and welcoming and the food is excellent. Fun activities are arranged, for example, therapy dogs, singing, quizzes, exercises
and locally based outings plus seasonal events. Even more important is that all the staff are wonderful whatever their role. They are hardworking, friendly, professional and inclusive but most of all they care.

As a visitor seeing my husband, I am always made welcome from all members of staff. The care and dignity of all residents are appreciated, they do their very best to accommodate the needs of the residents. I've been visiting the home for over two years, I do get involved with fundraising, of which I
enjoy, it's just like having extra family members.

I am very pleased with the care provided for my mother at Broadgate Nursing Home where she has been for nearly two years.
I liked the reception I got when I first visited. Although furnishings etc. are not luxurious, there is a great atmosphere of calm and kindness. One of the things that struck me
straight away was the way the staff behaved to each other, with respect and friendliness and without sense of hierarchy. They are nice to me, to my mother and other residents and communicate well with each other.
They don't impose unnecessary rules and always make me feel welcome.
They strike me as patient, intelligent and skilled. They always try to deal with things that crop up. I know that many of them are overqualified for the work they do.
I don't know all the ins and outs of running this home but I am impressed with the efficiency of all, laundry, catering, cleaning, house-keeping, medical, caring and management all seem to be working in amazing harmony to keep my mother happy and safe.

My father receives extremely good care from all the carers and the staff in Falcon House. They show care and understanding for all his needs. All the staff are friendly and helpful to me.The home is well cleaned and looked after.

Visited here every day whilst my mum was there for respite care. The home was always clean, warm and inviting. My mum's room was spotless. The staff are all fantastic and do a great job. I found them all very approachable, and helpful.
I was always offered a cup of tea whilst visiting. They have entertainment
on some afternoons. My mum said she enjoyed her stay there and always seemed happy enough. I wouldn't hesitate to use the home again for her.

Extremely warm and welcoming staff.
Excellent respect shown for residents and visitors.
Strong efforts to deliver individualised care within the inevitable limitations of staff-to-resident ratio.
Brilliant to have an on-site handyperson.
The corridors of the building feel institutionalised rather
than homely.
At times, a chaotic sensory environment. Recommend sensory support training for staff.
Overall, a family-feel to Broadgate Nursing Home.

From the very outset the manager and her team of staff gave valued advice and guidance, proactively liaising with and supporting our father's transfer from hospital for a period of palliative care. From the moment our dad arrived at Broadgate, he was welcomed and treated with dignity and kindness throughout
his stay. The staff were always cheerful, caring and encouraging, not only the nurses and carers, but also all the additional roles needed to make all the residents' stay comfortable and homely. Although only at Broadgate for a few weeks, we were able to set up Dad's room so it felt like his with his personal belongings and television, and there were no structured visiting hours - we loved that we could come and go throughout the day and evening. We were never made to feel that we were in the way, and we too felt part of the Broadgate family for the duration of his stay. We will always be grateful for the kindness, compassion and care shown to my dad when he needed it most.

My father spent time at Broadgate Care Home recently. I wanted to write this review because they made a difficult time so much easier to bear. The support the staff gave us as a family, and my father, was incredible. Broadgate gives a warm welcome to everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They
treated Dad with dignity and respect throughout his stay. I highly recommend this wonderful care home.

My husband went into the nursing home in need of full nursing care, he was also registered blind. He was so warmly welcomed and cared for all the time he lived there. The staff were always available and able to meet his needs especially as these increased as he deteriorated in his health. We became
known by name as we came to visit and visiting could be at any time. If ever we had any questions about his care or needs staff were always available to answer us. His room was kept clean and tidy and there was always a chair on which a visitor could sit. The staff were always respectful and gentle in their care of my husband and diligent in the repeated caring tasks that were needed.

My mother was under total nursing care. The staff were so friendly, helpful and treated her with the utmost respect, kindness and total all-round care. The management was so helpful and caring. I cannot recommend the place highly enough.

It was during the lockdown of 2020 that my wife had to go into a care home, so there was no opportunity of “shopping around”. I chose Falcon House on the basis of recommendations and convenience of location, and have been very satisfied indeed with the choice. The facilities are good, the bedrooms are
pleasant and of a decent size, and the common rooms have an excellent atmosphere, all the staff and genuinely friendly and caring. My wife, very far gone with dementia, and totally incapable of looking after herself, seems to be as content as she is able to be. I couldn’t have made a better choice. Any concerns that I have are dealt with promptly and efficiently.


In rating the various facilities, I have not marked activities and have rated food and drink as satisfactory as I have no experience of these and my wife is not of course able to comment on them.
