Astbury Lodge

from Rob R (Son of Resident) published on 19 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Dad, stayed in Astbury Lodge .
The staff were friendly, local people who had been there a long time. They were all genuinely caring , open, professional and honest people.
There were no agency staff .
It felt like a real, warm community.
My family visited Dad daily, at all times of the day
and there were never any problems.
The food was always homemade, traditional tasty, nutritious food.
There was lots of entertainment and a lovely easily accessible garden.
The rooms were warm, bright and comfortable.
It's a difficult and stressful when you have put your parents in a care home. Dad living here made us feel like we had made the right decision.

from L W (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 July 2025

Mum came into Holcroft Grange for respite in mid June and is still there now. This is her first time in respite and it's fair to say that the staff have been caring, supportive, professional and friendly to mum and indeed our extended family during this time. We have found them responsive to queries,
patient and informative. The home is clean, calm and has a variety of facilities to cater for different needs. Mum settled in well and is enjoying the activities and is joining in but there is always a place you can find if you prefer a quieter environment.

Westy Hall

from E H (Niece of Resident) published on 9 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Where do I start , from beginning to end to moving my aunt it's was 110% care and so considerate.. A member of staff even went above and beyond to meet us on her day off when assessing her for a move to Westys. We left the meeting feeling so blessed we had finally found a carehome who 'care' and treat
the elderly with the respect they deserve and love and compassion.. my aunt has changed in one week to feeling content which has massively had a knock on effect of all the family and this is down to that member of staff and the team who are so dedicated and hard working and do everything with love , care and nothing is too much trouble. Thankyou from our hearts that you have allowed us to get a little back to normality and can go home after each visit feeling blessed, my aunt has been there a week and it's her birthday today and they have even had a cake baked for her which tells you how considerate they are..
so blessed there was a room for her

Reply from Katya Lyon, Home manager at Westy Hall

I really am proud to be part of a team that strive to go above and beyond daily in their roles. I'm also proud to say our staff believe that this isn't just our workplace its peoples home who deserve to be treated with the upmost respect and care. We hope the cake and celebrations Aunty had is the first of many to come with us.Best wishes Home Manager

When Dad died, we knew Mum would need a level of care. Social services were a great help, and we eventually determined that 24-hour care was required. Croftwood was chosen as the most appropriate for Mum's needs. She has been here for a year now and has settled nicely. The family visit regularly and
we have found the level of care to be excellent. We have a very good relationship with the staff and are contacted whenever Mum has a fall or needs anything.

Every time I go into Ingersley court, every member of staff I see and speak to, are very polite, courteous, and smiling. There are staff on all floors and in different areas. The Manager knows exactly what's happening in the home regarding all the residents, and what their needs are. From personal experience,
she has recognised where support and structure have improved my loved ones time at the home. I would have no hesitation recommending Ingersley Court to others.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, they regularly come round with drinks and biscuits, they also interact with residents and do things to keep residents stimulated, like gentle seat exercises, or catching a ball from a seated position, they encourage residents to participate but it is on the
residents terms. There is a lovely atmosphere in the building. All staff are approachable if there are any questions, there is plenty of room to wander around the building freely which I really like, the windows let in a lot of natural light, the location is lovely there are some amazing views & the setting feels semi rural. The building is very secure, you need a member of staff to let you in or out of the entrance. There is an outdoor area where residents and their loved ones can sit, it is enclosed, making it safe and secure. The rooms are kept clean, bedding is changed regularly, I feel good knowing that mum is safe, secure and surrounded by kind and caring staff.

Review of

Gleavewood

from Jayne D (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 June 2025

As is the case for all families, placing your beloved Mum into the care of strangers is an extremely worrying experience. However, we quickly knew that Gleavewood is absolutely the right place for Mum; she has been shown such kindness and care since moving here in April 2025, and she can't speak highly
enough of the staff and what they do for her.
Mum enjoys the activities that are available to her during the week, and the food is really good with lots of variety. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure she is happy and comfortable, and for that we are so grateful.
As Mum isn't very mobile at the moment, it has been lovely to be able to sit outside in the garden with her on sunny days.
From entering the building, you know immediately that this is a warm and happy place, and the staff really do care about the residents.
We can't recommend Gleavewood and the team here highly enough.

Astbury Lodge

I have been a resident at Astbury Lodge for almost a year. I must say how I feel. It is a wonderful place. The staff are friendly and helpful and couldn't be more caring of us. The whole place is spotlessly clean. The food is good. We have a good programme of entertainment and I feel safe and happy.
