My wife's Mum has been in the Hawthorns for over 6 months now and we can honestly say that she has received excellent care from the lovely, friendly staff and management team. My wife visits virtually every day and always looks forward to chatting with the carers and her mums friends. Can't recommend the Hawthorns highly enough. Thank you everyone!

My uncle has been in Gleavewood care home for over 12 months now and has really enjoyed his stay there, he loves his room but more than anything he loves the staff all of them treat him with care and respect and always with a smile, nothing is ever to much trouble for them. His room is kept lovely and clean and he enjoys his meals, as well as his constant supply of tea.

My partner and I have both worked in different care homes ourselves over the years and have both agreed that if the time came for one of us to go into care Gleavewood would be our first chose.

My mum has been a resident of Three Elms since April 2024. The staff are friendly, helpful and kind both to my mum and to me. From my point of view it is such a relief to know my mum is settled and looked after - she has dementia which is worsening but she is being looked after by kind people who can meet her day to day needs.

My Brother and I would have been happy for my Sister to remain at The Elms but unfortunately her needs could not be managed. All the Staff were very kind and caring and my Sister appeared to enjoy the food. We feel it is sad that the building exterior is in such a poor state of repair which does not reflect well for the Home.

Can not praise the staff highly enough, very caring and professional. My dad has been very poorly but with the support of the staff he is much better and has a lovely bond with them.

My only criticism would be that there are several items of clothing that are clearly not his in the wardrobe, t-shirts look like they have been boiled wash and shrunk. That aside my dad receives good care and that is what is important.

Whenever I visit my sister I am always struck by what a great atmosphere pervades throughout the care home. Both the residents and staff all come over as being very happy to be there.

My sister was welcomed into Florence Grogan House last year after a very upsetting year both physically and mentally. The staff have been wonderful in that she is now able to function in a way which she finds quite acceptable.

My father has been a resident of The Hawthorns for almost 2 years. During that time he has been treated with great dignity and care. The staff are excellent in so many ways the high standards of care, kindness, understanding and no job too menial or trivial to warrant their attention. I have built a good relationship with the management team. Tess and Caroline are both excellent - professional + kind. Dawn works so hard at providing appropriate + varied activities. Si is so considerate + respectful. Every single member of staff is so good. Also, I would like to mention the chef + kitchen staff - also excellent.

In my opinion, the home is understaffed, there are too many residents who require one-to-one care, leaving too many residents to look after themselves. Because of, in my opinion, this level of staff, too many residents are left to walk around, waiting for an accident to happen.

Overall Experience
Amazing caring staff, nothing is too much trouble, my dad is well loved and cared for.
I like the fact I can turn up at any time.

Carers are very approachable and are happy to discuss any concerns I may have.
