Review of The Elms from Barbara E (Sister of Resident) published on 24 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My Brother and I would have been happy for my Sister to remain at The Elms but unfortunately her needs could not be managed. All the Staff were very kind and caring and my Sister appeared to enjoy the food. We feel it is sad that the building exterior is in such a poor state of repair which does not reflect well for the Home.

Review of Parklands from Sarah H (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Can not praise the staff highly enough, very caring and professional. My dad has been very poorly but with the support of the staff he is much better and has a lovely bond with them.

My only criticism would be that there are several items of clothing that are clearly not his in the wardrobe, t-shirts look like they have been boiled wash and shrunk. That aside my dad receives good care and that is what is important.

Review of The Hawthorns from Caroline C (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My father has been a resident of The Hawthorns for almost 2 years. During that time he has been treated with great dignity and care. The staff are excellent in so many ways the high standards of care, kindness, understanding and no job too menial or trivial to warrant their attention. I have built a good relationship with the management team. Tess and Caroline are both excellent - professional + kind. Dawn works so hard at providing appropriate + varied activities. Si is so considerate + respectful. Every single member of staff is so good. Also, I would like to mention the chef + kitchen staff - also excellent.

In my opinion, the home is understaffed, there are too many residents who require one-to-one care, leaving too many residents to look after themselves. Because of, in my opinion, this level of staff, too many residents are left to walk around, waiting for an accident to happen.

My mum who is 92 years old, moved here from another care home in Northwich. What a difference, the saying goes,as different as,chalk and cheese. From the very moment mum moved in the staff were unbelievable and attentive. Every member of staff at Gleavewood is amazing as is the home itself, the level of care is exceptional by any one's standards,to which I must add is way above anything seen before,it's very, very clean thanks to the cleaning staff, who really do an amazing job, plus mum says the meals are lovely and very filling, kind of says a lot doesn't it. There is a very homely and very friendly feel to the home and I myself feel so much more happier and relieved mum is being cared for in the way she should be in her time of life.

Please, having seen and visiting other "care" homes,Gleavewood is way way above any out there. Truly it's an amazing and brilliant care HOME.Chapeau to all that make Gleavewood the best out there. THANK YOU. (a very happy son)

I have found the staff very approachable, and very caring with all the residents, nothing is to much trouble, they take care in the cleaning, and with the laundry, the main thing is the residents are all happy.

Review of Parklands from Trevor T (Son of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum was cared for at Parklands from Sept 2025 until passing away at the end of June 2026. Mum had dementia and the issues which stem from that, and she was a frail old lady when she became a resident.
Despite being defensive, aggressive, and moody woman the staff at Parklands cared for my mum as if she were a member of their own families. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, and within a few days my mum became really quite contented with life there. Three good meals a day, including an enviable cooked breakfast, lots of snacks & treats, tea, coffee, and soft drinks were relished by my mum, and she quickly overcame any conditions of frailty thanks to quite a healthy gain in weight.
Parklands was also able to administer my mum's medication without causing any anxiety to a woman who was very incapable of looking after her own health & welfare.

During the last few weeks my mum entered end of life care, and Parklands coped with this with true empathy, care, and love.

Review of Westy Hall from Sharon T (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My dad has been a resident since December 2025 and from the first day we went to look around we felt so welcome by everyone. Since dad has been a resident he has gradually gained confidence to participate in a majority of activities and trips that are on offer.
Nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff and they always greet you with a smile and make you feel included and part an extended family.
I can't recommend Westy Hall enough due to the level of care and compassion that is shown not just to my dad but what I see towards other residents on a daily basis.
There is a real community within Westy with a number of families raising money for the new summerhouse that is nearly complete and families are involved in maintaining the garden by donating plants to make it an extension to the home that is enjoyable to sit out in and catch up with other families and residents.

We are so happy we found Westy hall and feel blessed that dad has settled in so well.

Reply from Katya Lyon, Home manager at Westy Hall

Thank you for youre lovely review,, to know you are reassured with Dad being cared for and feeling safe lets us know we are doing our roles right, It feels like you have all been here forever the way Dad and yourselves have fitted and settled in, as you say we are one big community and we are so...
