As is the case for all families, placing your beloved Mum into the care of strangers is an extremely worrying experience. However, we quickly knew that Gleavewood is absolutely the right place for Mum; she has been shown such kindness and care since moving here in April 2025, and she can't speak highly
enough of the staff and what they do for her.
Mum enjoys the activities that are available to her during the week, and the food is really good with lots of variety. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure she is happy and comfortable, and for that we are so grateful.
As Mum isn't very mobile at the moment, it has been lovely to be able to sit outside in the garden with her on sunny days.
From entering the building, you know immediately that this is a warm and happy place, and the staff really do care about the residents.
We can't recommend Gleavewood and the team here highly enough.

My mum moved into Gleavewood in March, which was an anxious time/change for us all, as mum is 98 years old and very independent. The management and staff have made mum's transition seamless, showing her care, compassion and understanding. Nothing is too much at Gleavewood who I can't thank enough as
the previous 4 months have been extremely stressful. I can finally sleep at night and rest knowing mum is being looked after with compassion and respect. Thank you so much for everything you have done and do for mum.

Following a fall that hospitalised my Dad, he was eventually moved to Gleavewood for respite care. He has been in Gleavewood for almost 6 weeks and the standard of care has been excellent which is helping Dad so much to get back to normal. It has taken a weight of our families mind knowing that he is

I have always found the staff really helpful and always ready to find time to explain about any situations that may arise. All the staff are very professional in everything they do, and this give you reassurance that the residents are being well looked after. Gleavewood Care home itself always seems
clean and tidy and always seems to have a good atmosphere. I would highly recommend Gleavewood Care Home, it provides peace of mind that your loved one is being well looked after and cared for.

I chose Gleavewood for my sister because it is small, friendly and calm. 3 staff members in particular were down to earth and helpful. Move from CareHome on South Coast was a worry. We needed staff who understood and would cater to my Sister's particular needs. So far I am pleased. One member of staff
is very involved and deals with any problems. One thing, perhaps big TV could be tuned to suitable i.e Nature/Sport programmes.

My Mother and I moved from the south coast just before Christmas. Mum has Dementia so the move was something I faced with trepidation. The Staff have all been so kind and welcoming and made the transition as smooth as possible. All queries and issues are handled efficiently and nothing is too much trouble.
I cannot thank the team enough for helping to settle Mum into her new home.

My uncle has been in the home for about 3 months after slowly getting worse living with dementia. It's been a difficult time for all involved but he's happy and he's getting the best care possible. Thank you to the staff who are all lovely.

Dad has been with them for a couple of weeks and they are just so so kind with him. The nurses are terribly patient, they've even got him smiling, not an easy task. I would thoroughly recommend Gleavewood, the nurse is outstanding with Dad. The place could do with a lick of paint, but never have I visited
a care home where they genuinely care about their clients and treat them in a friendly manner but are very professional.
10 out of 10 and if I could vote more I would.

My father has been based at Gleavewood for 3.5 months now. He has been made to feel at home. The staff have built a fantastic rapport with him and I'm truly grateful for this. They are friendly and do such a wonderful job. They even make my mother feel at home when she visits every day. Thank you for

My mum moved into Gleavewood in August 2024 having lived in the same hour for 72 years. This was very upsetting for us all. However, everyone at Gleavewood made this trauma as painless as possible. The care my mum receives is 5-star. The staff cannot do enough for my mum and she has settled really well.

Mum went into Gleavewood after living independently, unfortunately, she lost her independence and needed 24-hour care. Gleavewood has been marvellous, very compassionate and caring. We are delighted at how she has settled, nothing is too much trouble for the staff at what was an extremely difficult

Always a warm and homely welcome when we visit. The standard of care is excellent and everyone is always chatting and engaging with the residents. A nice atmosphere with always something to watch or listen to and everyone seems to acknowledge all the residents and say hello when passing by. We know
our mum enjoys the food and she has just what she likes and needs, the staff understand the different needs and where they can cater for them. The attention to her cleanliness and appearance and helping her to dress is fantastic. Just the small things like knowing her favourite pyjamas, that can really make a big difference. Thank you!

My brother was placed in Gleavewood for a period of respite having suffered a stroke. The care he received was excellent.
The home has a very friendly atmosphere, all the staff are cheerful, kind and helpful and the manager was exceptionally understanding and supportive of his needs. Thank you.

I visit the care home quite regularly to visit my auntie. I always feel welcome and there is a lovely atmosphere throughout the home. My auntie has settled in well and is very happy it feels like home for her and like a family. Well done to all the staff for making this home special! The home is clean,

The staff are lovely warm and welcoming at Gleavewood, the residents look so comfortable and happy. Some were knitting and having tea and biscuits when I visited.
The food that I saw being prepared looked delicious too.
The building inside looks clean and safe.

My dad came to Gleavewood in May 2024 and absolutely loves it. The staff are really caring and very approachable. The manager runs a well-organised home and there is a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere there. I have no concerns that my dad is getting the best possible care there.
