My mum is going to be 100 this year in October, and she moved into Gleavewood just before her 98th birthday. We truly believe moving to Gleavewood has given my mum a new lease of life. Even though we looked after her at home, nothing can compare to the care and attention she gets at Gleavewood, which

The many times we have visited Gleavewood in the last 12 months we have found the staff very helpful to us if we need to talk to them over anything. As for the person we come to see, there is nothing more they can do. The person is very happy there, very clean and tidy room. The person does not need
anything more than they have done for them.

My mother has been a resident in Gleavewood Care Home now for approximately 12 months. I have found the management/office staff to be excellent, nothing is too much trouble. Any request is dealt with promptly and the home is very well run.
The staff are cheerful, very hard working and try to make the
residents happy by finding a few minutes to chat whilst carrying out their duties.
My mum, 94, has benefitted greatly from being in this home's care, she is safe, happy and content. We don't worry knowing she is safe. I would like to say thank you.

When my mother first arrived at Gleavewood, she was treated with the greatest respect, and the staff did their utmost to help her settle in and to be as comfortable as possible. The same still applies 18 months on. There is a high standard of cleanliness, and the activities keep her occupied. The staff
are courteous and friendly towards me and are always willing to listen and communicate with me whenever necessary. I am extremely grateful for their dedication to their work.

My sister-in-law resided at Gleavewood for three years before she died there. All the care staff showed her great dignity and respect. She was very well cared for and happy. Her death was calm and peaceful. We are very grateful for the care and compassion she was shown - thank you.

Excellent service from the managers, care staff, auxiliary and catering staff. My mum is looked after to the highest standards, everyone is welcoming when you step through the door. My sisters and I have always felt confident that our dear mother is well cared for and even loved by the staff at Gleavewood. She's always been treated with dignity. It gives us peace of mind. We feel that, under the current management, it is well run as the manager was there when Mum decided for herself

Mum has lived at Gleavewood for the past three years. In that time she has thrived on the care that she receives 24/7 from the dedicated staff who all care for her like family.
With freshly prepared, home-cooked meals every day we know that Mum is eating wholesome, nutritious and healthy food for
every meal.
With the proactive approach of all members of staff, our mum gets the best of care regarding GP, podiatrist, hairdresser and even has her nails painted by members of staff.
The weekly bingo sessions are always popular and prior to the pandemic entertainers were a regular feature, let’s hope that that can continue in the near future.
When visiting Mum we are treated with the utmost courtesy and nothing is too much trouble be it in person or by phone.
As a family, we are so grateful to have our mum residing at Gleavewood.

Since my mum became a resident here her quality of life has improved overwhelmingly, living on her own in a flat was becoming extremely difficult after a couple of serious health issues.
As her only son, it was difficult for me and my wife to take proper care of her due to our full-time jobs and unsociable
working hours. She now receives quality, round the clock care from a team of dedicated carers, has access to nursing and medical care should she need it and eats proper fresh cooked meals which all have added to her quality of life.
She has a great rapport with the staff and has a great relationship with all of them. It has put our minds at ease knowing mum is getting looked after properly, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at a time in her life when she needs it most
We can't thank the staff enough for all they do for her.

Since our Mother became a resident at Gleavewood we as a family have been extremely impressed with the level of care that she has received. The staff at the home quickly became familiar with her care needs and cognition, and have ensured that her personal care is of the highest level. Our mother's nutrition
and mobility have greatly improved since she joined the home, due in no small part to the efforts of the care staff and management. Communication with the family has been second to none, and when visiting our Mother or enquiring after her by telephone we have always been greeted with warmth and courtesy. The feeling of myself and my family is that she has been extremely lucky to have become a resident at Gleavewood, and we are extremely grateful for everything that the staff provide for her every day.

I have visited my father again today and as usual, found the home to be friendly and welcoming. The staff are lovely and genuinely interested in my father and his story. They are attentive and caring and constantly check on residents in their rooms or day room. I know my dad feels safe and cared for
at the home. He is offered plenty of warm or cold drinks throughout the day and the food is homecooked and varied. If he does not want his tea, he does not go hungry as supper is always offered and available.
If I need to speak to a member of staff, either caring or office staff, they are on hand and my questions answered and my dad's needs met. There are varied activities planned which residents are actively encouraged to join in with. A monthly newsletter is produced which is informative for both residents and visitors. The home is lovely and clean. It is not easy moving a family member into permanent residential care but Gleavewood makes the transition easier and smoother. Well done all.

Mam was taken ill very rapidly she was in a trance-like state from the Tuesday to Thursday night. The care and love they gave her were marvellous. They are brilliant.
