Gleavewood

I've been in Gleavewood for about 6 months now and I have settled in quite well. I am enjoying the activities and the company and all the staff are helpful and lovely.

Helping me through severe grief and the effects of sepsis, I couldn't have been in a better place. The amount of love and care I received made me want to live again. The care, domestic, management and staff are the best!

Well looked after. All the staff, from managers, care assistants, kitchen staff and auxiliary, are friendly and always willing to help. Mum is always clean and well presented. Mum enjoys her meals and mixing with other residents.

I moved to Gleavewood on July 10th and since being here I have been made to feel welcome. The staff are very kind and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble, every problem is taken care of. I am happy to live here and I have recommended Gleavewood to my friends.

What makes Gleavewood so special are the managers and staff. Mum wasn’t here for a long stay but from the day she moved in she was made to feel welcome and cared for. You know that everyone at Gleavewood is doing their very best. Thank you to three staff members for all you did for Mum and for taking the time to talk to me. Thanks to all the staff too including the maintenance man who Mum had many laughs with. Mum didn’t make the rugby team!

We then went up to my auntie’s room who was happy to see us too. We had a lovely visit. A staff member also came and said hello to us and helped us to take my auntie outside. Every member of staff looked so happy and were very friendly. Even the kitchen staff said hello on our way past. What a lovely place my auntie is in which such wonderful care and caring staff.

Our dad, due to his frailty of his 90 years of age, moved into Gleavewood Care Home in March 2023, from the moment Dad met with senior management in his bungalow he was warmly invited to stay with them in Gleavewood. Dad has been amazing, settling into his new homely surroundings and could have not been made more welcome by all staff and residents and has expressed on numerous occasions that Gleavewood is his new home. As a family, we can not thank all the Gleavewood staff enough for making our dad so welcome and exceptionally cared for. Thank you.

Gleavewood Care Home has made my dad feel at home, safe and at ease. The staff are all lovely, very caring and helpful to both residents and visitors. The home is lovely and clean, warm and has a very calming atmosphere.

Our father received palliative care and it was excellent. His decline was rapid and the staff were warm, compassionate and always treated him with dignity. This was all tempered by the practicality needed to ensure he was comfortable at all times. For the family, this was incredibly reassuring. We are grateful for the hard work of the staff and their 100% dedication to care. Thank you.

My mum is going to be 100 this year in October, and she moved into Gleavewood just before her 98th birthday. We truly believe moving to Gleavewood has given my mum a new lease of life. Even though we looked after her at home, nothing can compare to the care and attention she gets at Gleavewood, which makes it such a pleasure to see as a family, knowing a loved one is taken care of so well.

My uncle is extremely well cared for, he has specific individual needs that are listened to and accommodated. He is always well-presented when we visit, his room is immaculate and he enjoys his meals.

All the staff work so hard to make sure residents are well looked after, and I'm so happy that we managed to get a place for Mum there.

The many times we have visited Gleavewood in the last 12 months we have found the staff very helpful to us if we need to talk to them over anything. As for the person we come to see, there is nothing more they can do. The person is very happy there, very clean and tidy room. The person does not need anything more than they have done for them.

My mum, 94, has benefitted greatly from being in this home's care, she is safe, happy and content. We don't worry knowing she is safe. I would like to say thank you.

When my mother first arrived at Gleavewood, she was treated with the greatest respect, and the staff did their utmost to help her settle in and to be as comfortable as possible. The same still applies 18 months on. There is a high standard of cleanliness, and the activities keep her occupied. The staff are courteous and friendly towards me and are always willing to listen and communicate with me whenever necessary. I am extremely grateful for their dedication to their work.

My sister-in-law resided at Gleavewood for three years before she died there. All the care staff showed her great dignity and respect. She was very well cared for and happy. Her death was calm and peaceful. We are very grateful for the care and compassion she was shown - thank you.

Mum has now settled in well. All staff seem to be very friendly, welcoming and caring people.

Excellent service from the managers, care staff, auxiliary and catering staff. My mum is looked after to the highest standards, everyone is welcoming when you step through the door. Work done in all areas to an excellent standard. I would recommend Gleavewood to others looking for a care home for their family members.

The care staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Every one of them goes the extra mile including management and office staff. My father is very happy to be a resident.

My sisters and I have always felt confident that our dear mother is well cared for and even loved by the staff at Gleavewood. She's always been treated with dignity. It gives us peace of mind. We feel that, under the current management, it is well run as the manager was there when Mum decided for herself to move in, we always trust her judgement.
