My wife's Mum has been in the Hawthorns for over 6 months now and we can honestly say that she has received excellent care from the lovely, friendly staff and management team. My wife visits virtually every day and always looks forward to chatting with the carers and her mums friends. Can't recommend the Hawthorns highly enough. Thank you everyone!
My father has been a resident of The Hawthorns for almost 2 years. During that time he has been treated with great dignity and care. The staff are excellent in so many ways the high standards of care, kindness, understanding and no job too menial or trivial to warrant their attention. I have built a good relationship with the management team. Tess and Caroline are both excellent - professional + kind. Dawn works so hard at providing appropriate + varied activities. Si is so considerate + respectful. Every single member of staff is so good. Also, I would like to mention the chef + kitchen staff - also excellent.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to know that you are happy with the personalised care approach for your father at The Hawthorns. We will surely pass on your review onto the team.
Wonderful welcoming staff + amazing activities - love keeping up on social media!!

My Mum, who suffers from Dementia, has been staying at the Hawthorns since leaving hospital in August. During her stay the Staff have been quite magnificent from the top management team down through to the all the lovely staff. Her room is large and kept extremely clean and she has a choice of different lounges to go to and meet with other residents, all of which have a TV or radio. Meal times are frequent and varied with cups of tea (a must!) available at all times of the day! The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for her to keep her happy and occupied. Friday hair salon days are a special treat! I can visit her every day and I am kept up to date with any issues, however minor, and the management and staff couldn't be more helpful. Themed days (Halloween etc) are enthusiastically delivered and we can't wait to see the visiting reindeer at Christmas! I am so pleased that my Mum is being looked after so well and that she is so happy with her new friends and "permanent home".
Thank you for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that your mum is happy with the tailored care at The Hawthorns. Providing a clean, welcoming care home with engaging activities, social spaces and regular family communication is very important to us.
He was admitted to The Hawthorns for some well needed respite and it was instantly clear that it was something he desperately needed more than we thought.
He was welcomed into his private, bright and airy room and it immediately felt like home. The décor was clean yet cosy, he had a hospital bed with fresh linen, the room was well furnished with a large wardrobe, chest of drawers and basin.
Our father-in-law and our family were only ever met by friendly, engaging and obliging staff, nothing was ever a chore or a problem. Smiling faces greeted my father-in-law daily met with pleasant conversation and cheery repartee!
We were all very content knowing our father-in-law was being cared for 24/7 safely, yet still being allowed his independence when he was able.
I would love to think that he will one day return to The Hawthorns as a permanent resident.
Thank you.

We were recommended this care home by a work colleague and we have not been disappointed. Father-in-law is cared for in a calm, friendly and dignified manner. All his needs are met, he is always clean and neatly dressed. He himself says he enjoys the food, feels safe, likes all the staff and is very comfortable. Lots of activities to choose from. Bedroom is comfortable and clean. Building needs some refurbishment but staff are amazing and approachable.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're pleased to hear that your father-in-law is well-cared for and feels safe and comfortable at The Hawthorns. We acknowledge the concern raised by you in terms of refurbishment, which will be considered for further review and make the necessary changes if required. Kind regards.

Mum has only been at The Hawthorns for 2 weeks but she has settled in so well. She loves her room and all the staff are so friendly towards her and me She is joining in activities which I never thought she would do and the overall change in her in such a short period is wonderful. Thank you everyone!

My mum has been here since April this year until October when she sadly passed away. I cannot express how much myself and my family were welcomed and supported by the staff from a first look around before Mum took residence until she passed away. As a family we were constantly informed of Mum's health and welfare, and whenever we phoned them to check up on how Mum was they were always able to inform me and not ask me to wait till they found someone who knew about my mum. The care Mum got was first class and she loved all the staff (her eyes lit up when they entered the room). Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Kind regards.
The staff were incredibly helpful and caring. They made my grandmother feel very welcome. She was very well looked after and I cannot fault the service given.

Since moving into the Hawthorns in 2020 my mother-in-law has been well cared for and has thrived due to the care and considerate nature of all the staff (domestics, care staff and management). It is our extended family and we feel so lucky that she lives there. Recently she has deteriorated and the staff have been marvellous and looked after her with dignity and love. We can't rate the staff any higher they are all angels.
Kind regards.
On entry, The Hawthorns feels welcoming, notably no smells! The manager and all the staff are kind and work hard to make everyone feel at home. They are endlessly helpful and supportive. I can't imagine a more special place for my father where he is safe among lovely people.
