Mum spent 6 happy years at Turnpike Court. The staff were always helpful. They provided care with dignity. At the end of life they were truly helpful. The young lady made us to feel that everything was being the best for my mum.

Rydal Care Home

My dad was placed in Rydal following a double hip replacement, for 6 weeks rehabilitation. The lack of care was shocking. On one occasion he badly cut his arm on a cable tie which was left on the bedframe they put on for him (he was on blood thinners). I believe the sheer lack of care he received resulted
in his gradual decline. He was given physio and following this he had terrible pain in his abdomen. He lost his appetite completely and nothing was done about it. He had to be rushed into hospital with pneumonia. My dad very sadly lost his life to a perforation to the bowel.

Grenville Court

from Sarah C (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 24 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Grenville Court provides fantastic care in a loving and supportive environment for my father in law. We chose it because they also provided outstanding care for my mother in law 2 years ago. The manager and the team have the very best interests of all the care users, the range of activities is fabulous,
the recent 'virtual' trips abroad is creative and inspiring. The restaurant is great. Most of all the staff make this home exceptional ..you couldn't ask for more caring, nurturing and supportive staff.

Reply from Abby Thornhill, Home Manager at Grenville Court

Sarah, these words are so beautiful. We absolutely adore both your father in law and still think about your mother in law always. Thank you, I will share this with the team as they will be chuffed to read this!

Experience from arrival to departure was excellent. We were introduced to the staff on arrival and made my husband feel very welcome. High standards were maintained during the whole of the stay. They identified my husbands needs before the stay and made any necessary adjustments without delay. My husband
was treated with respect by all staff so much so he is looking forward to any future visits, giving me assurance that he will be well cared for in the respite care.

All the staff have made mum feel welcome and cared for. She tells all of her visitors how lovely the staff are, how she enjoys the company and the food and that she couldn't be anywhere better. The home provides a warm, welcoming and clean environment. It is reassuring to see how the caring and hardworking
staff look after and interact with the residents. I feel that the home would benefit from a dropped kerb/ramp at the front of the building which would be helpful when taking residents out in a wheelchair. I believe this is being discussed with the landlord.

My mum moved into Gleavewood in March, which was an anxious time/change for us all, as mum is 98 years old and very independent. The management and staff have made mum's transition seamless, showing her care, compassion and understanding. Nothing is too much at Gleavewood who I can't thank enough as
the previous 4 months have been extremely stressful. I can finally sleep at night and rest knowing mum is being looked after with compassion and respect. Thank you so much for everything you have done and do for mum.

from Stephen G (Nephew of Resident) published on 14 April 2025

I am the attorney for my uncle, who has been a Craigend Gardens resident for nearly two years now. My aunt was also a resident but sadly died last year. Another review talks of the difference between the level of care provided in hospital and that at Craigend. I couldn't agree more. My uncle - who has
vascular dementia - had to be admitted to hospital and regressed considerably when there. Craigend manager and deputy visited him, saw this, berated the staff there, insisted on bringing him back to Craigend (with my full support) and within two weeks he was transformed. He is happy and I can't ask for more. May aunt chose to die at Craigend - and I witnessed an outstanding level of personal care and support which went far beyond the job. Genuinely caring and decent people. It is not the plushest place - but who cares when they are happy and so well supported.

My mum is looked after with the best care from all the staff. Her room is immaculate, and we as a family are very happy with the care she receives. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and very professional at all times. We even get a lovely cuppa when we visit.

Nursing staff were attentive to mums changing health needs. The staff were willing to discuss mums needs with me. Listened to my views and concerns.
A good range of activities for residents to join in with.

Grays Court

My mother has been here a year now. She arrived in a poor state from the Hospital, she now has no bed sores, due to the excellent care given. She is content here and the staff are very attentive, Grays Court is very forthcoming with information and has an open door policy. Communication is good in all
aspects.

Karam Court Care Home

from M A (Sister of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My sister has been a resident of Karam Care Home for over 4 years. In that time I have observed first hand the level of care and attention that she has received from the entire team. The staff are excellent and have provided faultless care. They are very friendly and approachable and have always willingly
assisted with any queries on concerns I have had regarding my sisters health. The management team lead extremely well and have assisted me every step of the way in navigating through paperwork and care plans. The care home is very homely and kept to the highest level of cleanliness. I have always felt my sister is being looked after well in the best possible hands. For all you do - and the kind thoughtful way you do it - thank you!
