Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum went into the home in February for initial respite with a view to a permanent placement. As a family it had been such a hard decision but the move to Lakelands has been so easy for us with the help from Jill and Sam and all the wonderful care staff . My mum loves her new home and she has been
involved in activities that she has never done before. Charlotte who does the activities has even taken her out into Wigan which she loved . I cannot praise the kindness shown to my mum and my family during what was such a hard time for us. Highly recommend this home as it is exactly that....a home x

My mum has been a resident for just over a year now. The staff are very caring and professional. They really know her and pay attention to her particular needs. The lounge looks into a a small well maintained garden which is easily accessible. There are many and varied events to entertain the residents.
These include musicians, games, crafts, historical items and animal visits. There are frequent updates on Facebook where I can see my mum is involved and stimulated. Thank you!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum is currently at Grenville court on a two week respite with view to stay permanently. (Fingers crossed)
They have welcomed my mum in like a family member.
The staff are all friendly and caring and go above and beyond for all the residents, this is clear to see even in just two weeks.
It is
very daunting and stressful choosing a care home for your parent, I can honestly say I am no longer stressed as I know my mum is in the best hands at Grenville court.
The activities the staff put on for the residents is amazing and well thought out for all the residents.
I went to a bingo night with my mum which the activities team put on one evening.
It didn't feel like a care home environment it felt like a family / community.
Thank you to all the staff at Grenville you are amazing!

My mum has been at Eagle View since January 2025 and we are more than happy with everything. The care she receives is amazing. The staff always go the extra mile with everything. Her room flooded after a neighbour blocked the sink a few weeks ago.The management have always kept me informed of what they
were doing to rectify the problem. They still weren't happy with her room weeks after the incident happened so.they have advised they have put some new flooring down. They are always doing plenty of activities and have regular singers etc coming in to keep.them entertained. Thank you all at Eagle View.
Reply from Emine Tekis, Registered home manager at Eagle View Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. It truly means a lot to us to hear how happy you and your mum have been since she joined Eagle View.

We're delighted that you're pleased with the care she receives and that our team's efforts to go the extra mile have made a difference. I'm especially glad we were able to keep you informed every steps and respond quickly following the flooding incident, ensuring your mum's comfort and safety is always our top priority.

I'm incredibly proud of the whole team and the dedication they show every day, and it's lovely to hear that the activities and entertainment we provide are making her experience enjoyable and engaging.

My friend is 92 years and I can honestly say that in the 25+ years that I've known her, I have never seen her as happy and content as she is since she moved into The Cedars three months ago. She likes it so much that she refused to come out for an afternoon to see a live performance of 'songs from the
shows'! She tells me how good the food is, how helpful the staff are to her and how calm + organised everything is.

Rydal Care Home

Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I thought Mum would hate being in a home. How wrong I was. She really appreciated being looked after so well. Staff were all exceptionally caring - which is the most important thing. Mum always appreciated how well she was treated. Mum (Dorothy) was a resident for over a year until her peaceful death
in January 2026.
Reply from Natalie Young, Home Manager at Rydal Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review.

It truly means a great deal to us to hear that your initial worries were eased and that Dorothy settled so well into life at Rydal. Supporting residents and their families through what can be a very difficult transition is something we are deeply committed to, and it's incredibly reassuring to know that Dorothy felt cared for, valued, and comfortable with us.

Your kind words about our team being exceptionally caring are sincerely appreciated. We will make sure this feedback is shared with all staff, as it reflects exactly the standard of care we strive to provide every day.

It was a privilege to care for Dorothy . We are so pleased that she felt well looked after and supported, and we hope that brings you some comfort. Please accept our condolences once again for your loss-she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her here.

Living nearby, I'd heard some negative remarks about Grenville over the years, but all of those were when the home was under the previous ownership/management. After meeting the lovely manager (Abby) though, I felt much happier as she showed me around and allayed any concerns. Mum settled in well and
I quickly realised I had made the right decision. From day one she seemed so much more happy than she had been living on her own. An amazing range of activities are put on for the residents which Mum regularly got involved with. I think she really enjoyed meeting all the animal visitors and the children from the local nursery and school. All the staff were so friendly and treated Mum with such kindness. She was always clean and well presented, and smiling when I went to visit her. I always left knowing she was safe and well looked after. I sincerely thank the entire team for the care and love you gave to Mum during her time as part of the Grenville 'family'. Highly recommended.
Reply from Abby Thornhill, Home Manager at Grenville CourtJames...thank you for such kind words. We miss mum very much and I am so pleased we could bring ease at such a hard time in both yours and her life.

Mum has settled into eagle view really well and I deffinatly have to credit that to the staff and management of eagle view. The care offered to mum is amazing, the staff are absolutely wonderful and don't just provide care...they actually show they care and I cannot thank them enough. The management

I can't fault the service of care given to Mary who has been a resident for nearly three years. At every stage of her care any changes or health issues have been quickly communicated to me or her husband and actions taken. All staff, without exception, are pleasant and treat us as if we were family.
Mary has always been shown clean and nicely dressed in her room.
Reply from Dulcie Turner, Home Manager at Red HillThank you for your review - we are so pleased you were happy with the care delivered and shown to you all as a family
this will be passed on to the teams that cared for your relative.

My mum was moved into Lyndhurst originally for respite but was struggling with mobility and General care after a stroke. We found it to be both efficient and accommodating . Carol and the staff always happy to help with any concerns and worries we had & always go above and beyond to help mum settle
in to a new environment. Anything she needs is assessed quickly and we are more comfortable knowing she has the care she now needs and is being provided with a lovely safe place in which to call home. Thankyou for your support & helping us as a family to make sure our mum is content & happy x

Brilliant place. Very caring. My friend has made new and wonderful friends with both staff and other residents. She extremely well cared for. She is happy and settled. They do good activities. The carehome staff took her to feed the ducks at the local canal for example. She was delighted.

My auntie is so happy at Ancliffe Care Home, and that means everything to me. From the very beginning the staff have been amazing, welcoming and incredibly supportive. They treat her with real dignity and care. It's clear they genuinely look after all the residents. The home is always clean, and has
such a friendly, homely atmosphere. She enjoys the activities and the company. It is such a comfort knowing she feels safe and settled. I am truly grateful to the whole team at Ancliffe for the amazing job they do. Anyone looking to put a family member into care. Ancliffe is the best.
