The staff are friendly and helpful, their care for the residents is good. The food offered is really good and plenty of it. Activities arranged for the residents is amazing and the organiser excels all expectations. The rooms are cleaned regularly, which is important. Manager, listen to you. I have no doubt this is one of the best care homes in the country.
The staff at this care home are polite, knowledgeable and compassionate about their work. They always have a smile and nothing is too much trouble for them, any concerns are dealt with swiftly. They went above and beyond when auntie was on end of life and shed tears with the family members. The room was prepared very respectfully and peacefully for end of life, and a member of staff was there when family wasn't. I cannot express enough gratitude to the staff there.
Took excellent care of my great aunty. She was very particular about her likes and dislikes at home, and they tried to accommodate her as best they could, which we are aware was out of their way, and we really appreciate it. My aunty came to like her time spent there doing various activities and making a few close new friends. Forever appreciative.Thank you.
My aunt was a resident in Moorgate Croft for just over 2 years until she passed away in March 2025. We were very happy with the care provided. My aunt was so happy living here, the manager and her staff were so kind and caring and were a credit to the organisation. During the time my aunt was a resident, we never had any worries or concerns. Thank you on behalf of our family for taking such good care of her.
Mum has moved into Moorgate Croft in the past 3 weeks and has settled really well. This is down to the excellent welcome she has received. The staff are very caring, kind and positive. There are lots of activities which mum has joined in, and her room is spacious and nicely decorated. We are very pleased overall.
Although my father has only been a resident of Moorgate Croft a few weeks, I know he's getting well looked after. From the moment you enter MC, the staff are very welcoming. The home is clean, no urine smell like some other care homes. Nice wide corridors and the bedrooms are a good size with large ensuite. The staff are approachable, caring and considerate towards the residents. I am informed of any issues or changes in my father's health. I am highly satisfied with care my father receives.
My mum has been a resident at Moorgate Croft for over a year now. I can honestly say that she feels safe and well looked after. She sometimes states she now as an extended family, by that I mean the staff treat her like one of their own. There are plenty of outings and activities organised by the staff. Every member of the team are approachable and caring nothings too much trouble. I remember first visiting Moorgate Croft with my mum over a year ago and a family of one of the residents said to me you will not go wrong here for the care of your mum. That says it all for me.
In the 4 1/2 years my mother was in Moorgate Croft she was given the best possible care on all levels and staff coped admirably as her dementia progressed. Leaving her totally dependent on them for all her needs. We her family were truly appreciative of the care and attention given to her and we were content to know that at all times she was in a safe and secure environment with round the clock care.
My mum has been a resident of Moorgate Court for nearly one year. The care she has received has been outstanding. Cast staff are attentive and always make sure residents have a drink. Staff all and treat residents with respect. Mum has had a couple of medical issues recently. She got seen and treated quickly due to the diligence of the staff and management. I know Mum is looked after very well and she appears to be happy.
My auntie came into the home in April and has made massive improvements physically and mentally. The home is so welcoming the staff are lovely and very professional at all times. The manager is amazing, she has supported and made the transition for my aunty so much easier to stay in the home and be happier.
My mum-in-law has settled into her new life at Moorgate Croft lovely. The staff are so caring and considerate of her needs. A lot of activities are organised which I know she enjoys very much. She also enjoys occasional outings. She tells us that meals are very good and I can see that her health and well-being have improved. Family visits are welcomed at any time and all staff are very friendly. Lovely atmosphere throughout the home.
After brief spells of respite, my sister made Moorgate Croft her permanent home in 2020. It was all due to her father's illness and shortly after the pandemic in 2020 that it became clear that my sister needed 24/7 care! She is very happy here, adores all the staff who under the expert management of the manager show my sister the love that she deserves.
Overall I think that Moorgate Croft is a caring and welcoming home. My relative appears comfortable and happy. I am always informed of anything untoward that happens and am involved in her care. I have one concern regarding my relatives' clothing. I understand that there must be mounds of laundry from the residents but despite putting names on absolutely everything, clothes seem to go missing. This is very frustrating when I find her in clothes that are not hers, of course, there is the money that I have spent. Other than that I am happy with her care.
I find my daughter has come on fantastic since she has been here. They have done so many things now that she wasn't able to do before. She loves it in the home. She loves all the staff.
Brilliant management and staff. Always friendly and caring.
My mum has been living at Moorgate Croft for 4 weeks. My mum has Alzheimer's. I went to visit the home and a week later my mum had moved in. Myself and family are very impressed and satisfied with the home and the care my mum is receiving. The manager is so kind, friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I can't thank them enough. To know that my mum is safe and cared for takes an enormous amount of pressure off us as a family. I would just like to see more of an activity programme taking place.
My uncle has lived in Moorgate Croft for 8 years now and we have had a few issues in this time. He has changed rooms now to a more suitable one which meets his needs much better having a bigger ensuite able to accommodate his wheelchair. The home in general is well-maintained but from time to time due to wear things have to be replaced. The staff are friendly and helpful but more staff on duty at weekends would help a lot more with making the home feel safe and supportive.
My mum looked at a number of residential care homes before settling for Moorgate Croft. Which was head and shoulders better than any of the others she had viewed. The home manager is very professional and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The home is spacious and the facilities are second to none. My mum is very settled at Moorgate Croft and is very satisfied with the accommodation, level of care and professionalism of staff. Also worthy of mention are the levels of cleanliness which are definitely much higher than any other home we viewed.
Cleanliness could be more thorough i.e dusting. Staffing seems to be an issue, not always available when required. Poor meal choices, not everyone can chew the meat due to ill-fitting dentures etc. Activities quite inadequate, would be prefer them to be available throughout the day rather than almost always in the afternoon. My visitors tend to visit me after lunch. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay here.
