View Full Details of SandygateMum has been a resident of Sandygate Care Home for around 6 months. On admission her behaviour could sometimes be quite challenging however Jodi and her team reassured me that they would work with the other medical health teams to balance mum's medication and things would settle down. To be honest I was sceptical as I felt dementia had taken mum away from myself and my family. However Jodi was right. They have a personal approach, tailoring treatment to the needs of each resident. I can't praise the team highly enough. There are times I can see my mum as I remember her and she remembers me as a loving daughter . We still have some challenging moments however these are now minimal. Mum enjoys the outings and is proving to be quite a character with her singing. Thank you to the everyone at Sandygate Care Home who are looking after mum so well.
Mum had to go into Sandygate due to having dementia. She has now been in approximately 5 years and looks so much better than when she first went in. She appears healthier and happier now. Really well looked after by an amazing team that work there.
Due to a culmination of circumstances my mom went into Sandygate Care Home in 2021 at short notice in that her dementia had progressed to the point whereby my father could not care for her and he had been admitted to hospital. From my very first conversation I had with staff at Sandygate they have been outstanding on all levels. Mom has remained there ever since. Being 2hrs drive away I needed to be sure mom was getting the very best of care. I can honestly say each time I have visited mom she has looked lovely. Her room has always been immaculate. Any incident involving mom has been reported to me immediately and I've been kept fully informed. Every time I've been there has been interactive entertainment. Overall I have to say a benchmark level of care.
Staff are very pleasant and when I visit my Mum they are always well informed on how her day has gone. I would recommend the Sandygate Carehome to anyone who is considering support for their loved one.
My Mum arrived at Sandygate, after a long spell in hospital. She is severely visually impaired and has Alzheimer's. She had had a few falls during her stay in hospital and had fractured her hip during a short stay at another care home, so I was extremely worried about her safety. The management at Sandygate listened to my concerns and made sure that all safety measures were in place when Mum arrived. All the staff have been vigilant about keeping Mum safe. Mum has improved since arriving at Sandygate, she is eating and drinking well, her mobility is improving and she seems happy. She is always clean with fresh clothes daily. Her bedroom and bathroom are always clean and tidy. The regular church services and singing activities are all nice for her to enjoy and take part in. All the staff are friendly and welcoming when I arrive which is nice, as visiting care homes is not something I'm used to doing. Overall I am very pleased with Sandygate- for Mum's new home.
All my experiences of Sandygate have been positive: My mum was made to feel welcome and at home immediately. The staff are fantastic, everyone from the admin who made all the paperwork as simple as possible, to the carers, who treat the residents like they are family. Would highly recommend. The rooms are pleasant and well-equipped and the overall atmosphere is friednly and homely.
My mum has been a resident since November 2024, it was a hard decision, but for my mum's safety she had to go into residential care, since being here at Sandygate the care mum has been given is outstanding the staff amazing, from management to the kitchen staff and so on. She's settled more than we thought which is a relief for myself, sister and 2 brothers. Once again knowing our mum is safe 24/7 we thank you once again, keep up the great work you all do.
Mum has been in Sandygate for 7 months and settled in immediately. She has a new lease of life and looks so much better than she did when living on her own. The staff are wonderful, extremely caring, and friendly. There are lots of activities and events and the residents can choose whether or not to be included. The food is very good and Mum has gone from eating almost nothing to having a very healthy appetite. Thank you for giving us all peace of mind.
Most satisfied with the care and attention my husband is receiving at Sandygate Care Home. Impressed with the staff routines. Both care staff and housekeeping staff. Thanking them for their efforts.
Since my Brother-in-law became a resident in February of this year he has been cared for with respect and professionalism that has been a pleasure to see. The way that the staff has encouraged him to take part in numerous activities has helped him to integrate into his new surroundings. His medical care has been exemplary as have his dietary needs, so much so that he has put on weight.
Having to care for my mum had become very hard. Then after a period in hospital. As a family, we finally agreed that Mum would live a better life by moving into Sandygate where she has the care and help that she needs.
Father-in-law's 98th birthday was celebrated with lots of family members in the downstairs family room- it could not have gone better and thanks to the staff who went the extra mile to make his day so special. Thank you
My mum has been at Sandygate for three years. Our family has been very happy with the care she has received. The staff are very caring and compassionate with the residents. Many staff will go above and beyond the call of duty. Staff are excellent at communicating with us regarding my mum's care.
Brillinat staff, care is very good. Always helpful and any enquiries always dealt with. Food good, no problems at all. Thanks.
Everything has been great, 5 stars! Many thanks to all.
Sandygate is a lovely home. The carers have been so good with Mum. I would recommend to anyone.
Our mother has settled in well after only a week. Today she has admitted she absolutely loves it here. She loves the staff, who are absolutely amazing with all the residents. It means the world to us knowing she is safe and cared for.
Mum seems very happy. She has a lovely room. She is always clean and smiling. She is happy, she has a friend, they are always together.
Dad came to live here due to his dementia, Mum moved in to be with him, due to Dad's dementia he had to move to nursing care. Staff cared and looked after Mum after and showed the same warmth, kindness and empathy. Also, made to feel welcome, as a family as it's my mum's home. Dad sadly passed away and the all the staff have been amazing with Mum and family, showing all the above and supported Mum and me through his very sad time. I have never felt any worries regarding the care my dad had and Mum is still receiving. Thank you all.
A warm and friendly place, staff and management always have time for a friendly word. Also have confidence in quality and ability of staff and management with regard to all matters vocational and medical. Always seem to have a variety of activities and visits by chaplain.
