View Full Details of Barchester Spen Court Care HomeMum has poor mobility and depends on carers to take her to the toilet. She asked two carers the other day in the lounge to take her to the toilet. Both ignored her so she consequently wet herself. Same on nights.. carers do not answer the call bell when mum needs the toilet.. so she ends up wetting the bed. Staff can't be bothered dressing her properly. Found her today in a thin jumper. No underwear underneath. Pay £1,320 a week for this treatment.
The staff very helpful and friendly
Find my entire visits to the home to be very pleasant. Staff have always been professional and polite to me at all times - also very happy and fun. When the situation arises - (eases & relaxes) Everytime I visit I help myself to a coffee and cake - no complaints about either.
I went into Spen Court Care Home in Heckmondwike for respite care as my family went on holiday. I really enjoyed my stay the staff & food were lovely & made me feel very welcome. I would definitely stay there again for respite if the need arises.
My mother and all my family, think Spen Court, and all the staff are first class. We can all see a big improvement in our mother.
In the many years my mum has lived here she has always been treated with dignity & respect from all members of staff whatever their position. This has continued as her condition has deteriated. I have nothing but admiration for the staff at Spen Court & see on a regular basis how they continually go above & beyond often in challenging circumstances. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spen Court to family & friends.
I find the home well managed. Always clean and tidy Pleasant staff. Plenty things to occupy residents.
My husband came in for respite whilst renovations were done on our house and he is so happy and says it's like staying in a hotel! This gives me so much relief knowing I can leave him happy.
Greeted at reception with a smile, all staff were very pleasant. Overall appearance of rooms were clean & bright. Help provided when needed.
My mum has been a resident of Spen Court for 12 months. She is now happy and settled. The staff have been fantastic and have looked after her every need from day to day requirements to medical situations. They all treat mum with respect and give her what she wants. The rooms, facilities and food are all top notch. What more could she need? Thanks to all at Spen Court for letting oking after mum.
The staff are always helpful, courteous and compassionate. This fills me with confidence as I am unable to visit my mother often as I do not live in England. When I am able to visit the care home my mum is treated well, is attended to well and is happy.
Excellent service, polite staff and very clean and tidy.
I can't thank everyone enough for looking after my dad for 2 weeks respite. He loved staying there and he will definitely be returning. We knew he was safe and cared for whilst mum was having a break from caring for dad. The home and the people caring for him are fantastic and it really felt like a home from home for dad. Would very highly recomemend.
My mum came for a weeks respite, will I went on holiday. Although she has severe dementia, she could recall the home, which indicates that she felt happy and secure. From my point of view I found the staff very friendly and helpful, which was reassuring as it was the first time putting my mum in respite. I can't praise everyone enough.
My mother in law moved into Barchester's Spen Court Care Home about 3 weeks ago. In that time we've seen a real improvement in her. She's been diagnosed with dementia but has had to move into care permanently now. All the staff have been so kind and helpful and the level of care is amazing. Thanks to the care staff she's settled in very quickly and it's been a weight off our mind to know she's in such a great place. The facilities and staff are all brilliant.
Mum was really going down hill fast and needed extra care which we couldn't provide at home , after five weeks at Spen Court she is blooming Up & dressed eating regular beautifully cooked meals she has a new interest in life & what is going on around her The staff are marvellous & can't do enough for her As a family we would recommend Spen Court to anyone with an elderly relative who needs extra care
Mum had become uninterested and lost her appetite and was visibly going down hill. No energy and generally couldn't be bothered. Within the first week she had perked up and was eating again, not much at a time, but always made from fresh ingredients. She was also given her tablet at the right time and encouraged to take them
Visiting a dear friend that went into Barchester Spen Court Care Home. Since my last visit, I have seen a large difference in her, she seems much happier and healthier, it's a bit of weight off my mind that she is being cared for and getting back to her old self and I am sure she will go from strength to strength from now on.
All staff are very welcoming, efficient and pleasant. Mum's room was nice and had en-suite facilities, Barchester Spen Court Care Home is a nice place to walk into. Mum said the food was very good. She wants to return when we need care services again and we will arrange it. Nothing is too much for the staff when you ask them questions. A very good care home.
Barchester Spen Court Care Home was excellent in every respect. Standards are very high in all areas and we were particularly touched by the great kindness shown not only to my mother but to our whole family. Thank you very much.
