My wife Valerie (Val) is a long term sufferer with Parkinsons Disease - it was becoming difficult to cope at home and a bad fall in June 2024 resulting in a broken femur and other falls following resulted in an agreed decision to seek care. We have been very pleased and this has resulted in a degree
of independence and mutual benefit.

After a fall at home we needed to find emergency care for my 95 year old aunt. It needed to be close to her home so family and friends could call in to see her.
Cookridge Court ticked all the boxes, and were very prompt when I contacted them. My aunt only stayed 4 weeks, but I now know how great
the stay was incase she needs to return in the future.

My mum became a resident of Cookridge Court in 2019. From that day to her sad passing yesterday the staff at the home have all been amazing. The home is always kept immaculate and mums room clean and well kept. The group activities, including singing, dancing and painting, were the highlight of
everybodies week. We as a family cannot thank Cookridge Court and all the staff for their help and support.

My wife has just returned home after her third respite stay at Cookridge Court.
She has previously spent time at several other care homes, and respite care is something she tolerates rather than enjoys.
However, following her two previous stays she was more tolerant of going in.
Once again,
all of the staff were welcoming and pleased to see her. Her room was immaculate, clean and inviting. A proper home from home.
The meals were delicious, and the care she received friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and it made her stay so enjoyable that she is actually looking forward to her next "holiday" in 2 month's time.
I can't say enough how much more relaxing it has made my break, knowing that my wife is happy and content whilst I am away.
My thanks to everyone at Cookridge Court for taking such loving care of my wife.

I have just returned home from my third respite stay at Cookridge Court Care Home. The care I receive is so good. I got such a warm welcome from all members of staff when I arrived. My room was spotlessly clean, light and airy. The meals were delicious and varied - I even had a visit from the chef!
The house keepers who kept my room so clean always made time for a chat as they went about their work, whilst the care staff really "do care" .
As I find sleeping in a single bed rather difficult, a reclining chair was provided by the home for me - I even met the handy man who checked everything was okay for my sleeping arrangements.
I am unable to comment on the activities run at the home. Despite being invited to join in on several occasions, I was happy to stay in my room and catch up with my reading.
I now can look forward to my next "holiday" there, it's so nice to know that my husband can enjoy his breaks, knowing I am so well looked after and happy.

The staff that we see are lovely, however I feel that they need more staff - there are a lot of residents in the home. Washing does go missing- however again a lot of residents to look after. Some toilets do not work properly - or the residents cannot push handle down - too hard for them - the
shower floors are uneven so residents fall sometimes.

My wife suffers from Alzheimer's disease and was admitted for respite initially but it became apparent that permanent care was needed. All the staff were welcoming, professional and supportive throughout. However, my wife presented many challenges and management with my agreement, invited a
specialist NHS team to review her care and this resulted in a recommendation that she be moved to a more intense nursing dementia care. Throughout this difficult time, the management and staff were very supportive and caring both for myself and my wife. I appreciate the efforts of all concerned and would wish to place on record my sincere thanks and appreciation.

We can not thank all the staff at cookridge court care home enough. From the admin team, finance team, support staff and all in-between for the great support/care provided to my grandfather during his respite. They not only cared for my grandad but they supported me and my mum and helped us feel at
ease leaving him for the first time. We would definitely recommend them and will certainly be using their service in the future. They are all simply amazing.

I visited my mum's best friend. I met her in the main entrance where we sat and chatted for an hour. My mum's friend was waiting for me in the warm entrance, we were greeted by friendly staff and offered and given drinks (including soya milk) and cake. The hall was light with huge windows looking on
a busy court yard so lots to see. At one point my mum's friend said, she'd like to go out with us and staff said she'd need staff with her for safety. She also said the food was generally good and she liked her room. Staff seemed lovely and supportive. The gorgeous trees at the front were beautiful. Car parking was plentiful. The hall was clean and nicely decorated. Toilets were clean and spacious.
