View Full Details of Simon Marks CourtMy mother-in-law is loving life at Simon Marks Court, she is extremely well looked after and wants for nothing, the room is a great size, the staff are lovely and the food is fab she hasnt eaten that much in years, she is encouraged to join in with the daily activities but also left in peace when she wants to be, we only wish she had gone in the home sooner.
Before mum stayed at Simon Marks we were offered a tour of the facilities. The moment we walked through the door we both felt at ease. Everyone from office to kitchen staff greeted us with a big smile and a welcome, which was really settling. The home was spotlessly clean and smelt as fresh as a daisy. All this made the home an obvious choice. When she moved they took note of her hospital appointment, meds and explained meal times, entertainment etc. She was even escorted to her hospital appointment and now speaks about one staff member, who took her, as a real friend. Mum's only complaint about the catering was how often she was offered meals, cups of tea and cakes! (A lady has to watch her figure). The care staff encouraged her to take part in the daily activities and she danced for the first time in years. Unfortunately mum had an incident where she needed to be taken to hospital but was cared for so well that she even stated she was lucky to be there because of the help she received.
Mum's been in Simon Marks for just over a year now she has settled there immediately and has been very happy the last year. Care and support and staff have been excellent, staff turnover has been frequent so sometimes impacts on care delivery as not familiar with residents but always obliging and friendly. Management always friendly and helpful with any concerns or issues. As a family we have peace of mind mum is happy and well looked after.
Simon Marks Court is a very friendly caring home, staff are always on hand if we have any queries and all seem very helpful and quickly sort out any problems. The home is very clean and Mum gets very good personal care. On occasions, Mum says she rings her buzzer but it can take a while, if staff are attending to other residents, nut overall the care is very good. As a family we are all pleased with this home and how open and friendly everyone is.
I would like to thank all the staff involved with the care of Mum during her short stay at Simon Mark's Court. Mum said the carers were lovely and took good care of her. She also said the food was very good too. The staff were very efficient when dealing with any requests.
Home-from-home, staff are wonderful, my sister got the greatest care I could have wished for during her 2-year stay at the home. The staff became her second family during that time and were willing to sit with her when she got upset or angry. They provided lovely entertainment which my sister loved to join in with and she loved the beagle dog who came in to visit. They always made me her sisters feel welcome when I visited her and gave me wonderful cups of tea and cake. For anyone wanting a care home I would recommend Simon Marks Court.
My sister really didn't want to go into respite care and was adamant that she would be okay staying at home. When I left her she was near to tears. When I went to collect her she was full of praise for the staff and the home. I couldn't have been happier with the care she received. I even asked if I could book her for another stay in September.
Staff are great.
My dad moved here as a permanent resident following a stay in hospital. He settled in quickly and is happy with his new home; the staff are absolutely lovely, and their care and kindness are outstanding. From my first enquiry, I felt management was prompt and efficient, and when I visited the care home, I was impressed with the fresh and clean decor, the rooms and public areas are spotless. Staff here are friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Simon Marks Court; it is by far the best care home I have visited.
My father had three weeks respite care. The manager understood the circumstances I needed for him. He liked the staff and food and his room. He was treated with respect and dignity. I cannot thank everyone involved in his short stay enough.
I was very pleased with the place my sister-in-law was staying. She seemed very settled for the time she was there. We had a walk around inside, and I really enjoyed my visit there.
Lovely accommodation, very caring staff. All residents are treated with sympathy and understanding regardless of their disabilities. The food is varied and excellent and I would happily recommend Simon Marks Court as a very superior care home and happy place to be. I should like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and management for looking after me so well and making my stay so enjoyable.
Mom came to the home at short notice in September 2022, and the staff were all welcoming in a difficult situation. She was allocated a lovely room and settled in well. The food was of a really good standard, and Mom stayed with Simon Marks for seven months. The home is well equipped with a bar and coffee area, which didn't always seem to be in use but was available when needed for visitors. There are also regular entertainment and GP visits to support residents.
The staff here are excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. My mother is well looked after and is happy here.
I would highly recommend Simon Marks to anyone. My mother has been there a few times now for respite to give me a break, and I truly do not have any complaints whatsoever. The rooms are fabulous, and the staff are very friendly and caring They go out of their way to make everyone feel wanted and safe. When we had a medical emergency, they dealt with it very quickly and efficiently. Thanks to all there.
Mum has been a resident at Simon Marks for three months now. From my first enquiry through admission and up to now, I have been delighted with the level of care provided.
Can't fault anything at Simon Marks. The staff have been incredible and so patient with my mum, who can often be very grumpy with them. They are always friendly, and helpful and feel like they genuinely care so much about the residents. They have also been very supportive of me since my mum went there and keep me informed of everything. The home is clean and welcoming whenever you visit and love the fact that they have visitors to the home to entertain the residents. Every staff member I've met has been excellent and I know my mum is receiving the best care she could get. Other family members have all said the same. So glad my mum was placed here.
One off the hardest things I have had to do was admit that I could no longer care for my mother-in-law. Even with the carers helping 2x daily, she wasn't eating, personal care was only when we reminded her and she was so lonely her dementia was getting worse and it was a constant worry when she was left alone. Then the best thing was finding Simon Marks Court, the staff are always friendly, smiling and treat residents with dignity and respect. There is laughter and that patient listening ear when needed. My mother-in-law has now new friends (staff members), she laughs and jokes with them, she is eating, helped with personal care, safe, so well cared for and not lonely anymore. Yes she has her off days, don't we all, but it's soon forgotten and yes, her dementia is getting worse but she is in the best place and I am so grateful for all they do and also for making me so welcome on my visits.
Dad went into respite, the second day he had a fall, followed by nightly falls, I had to get a flight home early. He became a resident, Dad deteriorated quickly, followed by a traumatic and upsetting death on 29th October at 3 am. Following Dad's death, we have had no contact from the home to offer condolences which I would have thought would be a matter of courtesy from management following the death of a resident. The care team, including agency staff, were very caring, as was the admin lady. Happy to discuss.
My uncle went for a week of respite care - he absolutely loved the staff and residents and all the wonderful things that they did. One lady has been so wonderful at organizing everything for him and paying such detailed attention to his needs and wants. I think he just loved that people were happy to talk to him and were so attentive. Thank you!
