View Full Details of The HolliesThe staff here at The Hollies are amazing. It literally has quickly become home from home. With nurture and the right amount of assistance they have brought my grandad on leaps and bounds. He has settled in wonderfully because the staff have all gone above and beyond. The meals are sufficient and well portioned, snacks and drinks are permanently available. There's entertainment on a regular basis and the co-ordinator is brilliant at her job. It really is a lovely environment and credit to every staff member because they are all doing a remarkable job. Thank you for all you are doing, without you he wouldn't be where he is today.
The home and all the staff went above and beyond for my aunt. She was cared for with kindness and compassion during her last days. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for her and us.
I’m currently still in the Hollies rest home in Wakefield, Eastmoor. Hopefully, I will be leaving tomorrow. I have been here for 2 weeks, and the care is diabolical. The carers are so stressed they are not treating me well. I am kept in a room for over 24 hours a day, despite requesting on many occasions to be helped into my wheelchair so I can sit outside, nothing is done. The district nurse that comes to take care of my personal needs has asked them to check my skin every few hours, but none of this is being done, she also asked them to get me in my wheelchair once a day for an hour, they just ignore her.
I think The Hollies care home is the best care home in Yorkshire. The manager and assistant manager are excellent and look after me really well. I love my room it is nice and spacious and I have a really nice view. The staff I really like and are my friends and make me feel at ease if I feel ill. The food is excellent and very modern, Fish is my favourite and the kitchen staff always ask me if I would like the fish dish on the menu but they are happy to give me another dish if I don't fancy it, like salmon or tuna salad. The home is cleaned every day and my room too. I like to join in with activities but I also like to read a lot. I love living at the Hollies and don't want to go anywhere else.
Deeply saddened about what my grandma endured whilst under the care of The Hollies. I would strongly recommend that if you want your loved one to be treated with dignity and respect, then you do not choose this home.
Our mum has been a resident at this Wonderful Care Home since November 2020. We cannot thank the outstanding staff enough for the love and care they give her. They go above and beyond our expectations, she is so happy there and has wonderful banter with all the staff, we get the feeling she loves them and they love her, which has given us so much peace of mind that she is so safe and happy. They have so many activities too eg The Virtual World Tour which they did during the height of the pandemic and is still going on, takeaway night, baking, gardening and bird watching, that's just naming a few. She is totally pampered with the weekly hairdresser, pedicures, manicures and even the odd facials, which she loves. Communication between the Care Home and us is Excellent too, always keeping us updated with Mum. We visit her regularly and her room is spotless, she looks so clean and fresh too. Mum calls this "Her Holiday Home". Thank you with All Our Hearts The Hollies.
I am more than happy with the standard of care my mum has received whilst she has been at The Hollies. they have gone above and beyond to accommodate my mum's needs particularly with regards to her food requirements and the language barrier. I was pleased to see how my mum was encouraged to join in with the activities provided. I appreciate all the help and support they have given me and my mum since she has been in there care.
The Hollies Wakefield is a lovely environment for the elderly. The staff are obviously there because they care about the residents. My mother has been there for the last 22 months and her general health and mental well-being has improved tremendously. She has her own private room which is kept spotlessly clean. Entertainment is always available and the staff put on themed events regularly. I feel completely satisfied that mum is receiving the best care possible.
The staff at The Hollies were amazing, they went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. My father-in-law was of Bajan origin, they even provide him with traditional West Indian food. When my father-in-law first arrived at The Hollies he was only there originally for respite care, (he could be quite difficult at times) the girls dealt with him in such a special, caring and compassionate way that he ended up staying until he passed away. The Hollies really is a special place the care, warmth, friendliness and welcome you receive truly is exceptional.
Mum had a dreadful time at The Hollies, mistakes and poor care. Very sorry but I could not recommend this home to anyone at the moment. My mum and her family have been left traumatised by the care given at The Hollies.
The most terrifying and traumatic ordeal my mother has been through in her 88 years. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. So glad my mum survived it and is now happy and safe every day is a bonus now and we appreciate every one of them.
My family member is currently residing at The Hollies and I must say how wonderful the staff are and how they care for all the other residents who are there too. There is such a warm, friendly, home from home feeling from the first minute you walk through the door until the minute you leave. You are made to feel welcome at all times and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff whether this is for a resident or yourself. A-star all round!
A very old friend of mine who suffers from anxiety and has mental health issues since having a breakdown is staying at The Hollies and her care from what I’ve witnessed is fantastic. The staff are aware of some of her previous issues and are careful to keep her on an even keel and happy. Always things to keep my friend busy, knitting or whatever. The staff make sure that everyone feels valued. I would not think twice in having either myself or a member of my family living at The Hollies.
I live around 200 miles, and I’m pleased to say I have peace of mind knowing my mother is in a safe and loving environment with genuinely caring staff. She’s happy and contented at The Hollies care home.
I am more than happy with my husband's care at The Hollies, all the staff are lovely and I know he's safe and well cared for.
