View Full Details of Walton ManorWalton Manor has provide the most excellent care to my mum. When she first moved in we had several incidents where she has struggled to settle into the new surroundings. The staff have all shown such patience and care to her, and assisted her in every way. The residents are all looked after with such care, and are helped to join in the many activities that are going on and are all kept very clean and tidy, and are happy. All of the rooms are also kept really clean and tidy, its a lovely place to be. The staff are very attentive, both to the residents and visitors alike. My parents have been in 4 different homes this year, and i would highly recommend Walton Manor.
Mum has been here since May 2025, and has been well looked after. She has regained her appetite and has become settled whilst she is here. The staff are always attentive, but I do feel that sometimes, they could probably do with a little more assistance.
My mum has lived at Walton Manor for 2.5 months now. It had become too difficult and unsafe for her to live at home alone any longer. We came for a look around and immediately felt a great atmosphere and knew it would be perfect for mum. She has settled quickly and well and loves the company and care she receives daily. I visit her 3 to 4 times a week, and everything is great. Mum loves the home-cooked food, & the company of both the lovely staff and other residents. Everyone works so hard to ensure the smooth running of the care home. The garden is huge, so mum gets her exercise daily, and it is heart-warming to see her so happy and laughing every time i visit. Thank you all so much for making mum so improved in her health & wellbeing.
Overall, I'm happy with my dad's care and the care home in general. The only criticism is that no one seems to take note of the fact that I have mentioned on numerous occasions that dad needs a urine bottle last thing at night and the first thing in the morning. After repeated requests, I am still coming in to see dad late morning and finding him in bed with wet bedding. I don't have an issue with him sleeping in, but I don't like the fact that he is lying in a mess. The majority of the carers are great with the residents.
Dad has been in Walton Manor for 9 months and has over the time there become more and more happy and settled. The staff know him very well and he responds really well to the staff. they care for Dad and all the Residents and that is evident from how the Residents respond to staff members. The food, bedroom, and activities are also all excellent and the staff always strive to do their best. The job is very hard and the staff are always encouraging even when they are tired. They are always welcoming to visitors and families as well. I am thankful to all the staff and the Walton Manor Team, for making Dad's time there to be really good. Thanks to each and every member of staff who are so lovely and caring to our Dad.
Our experience of the care provided is very good. Everyone is very helpful and friendly and all the carers work extremely hard to ensure the residents' needs are met. . The activities for the residents are plentiful and done with great enthusiasm by the activities co-ordinator. All in all, our experience is a very pleasant one.
My Mum has been a resident at Walton Manor for 2 years and I visit most days. There is a consistent commitment from the manager and the team to provide high standards throughout the home. Improvements and enhancements are always visible and in every area. They work so hard every day to deliver care that reassures families and friends that their loved ones are in a safe, comforting and caring environment. Each member of staff knows my Mum very well, no matter what area of the home they work in. They know her as a person. They also know her needs, likes and dislikes, without having to refer to the endless record keeping they also have to do. The relationship they have built with her is a very genuine one and it shows. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always have a welcoming smile. As hard as it is to have my Mum in care, I truly appreciate the team at Walton Manor. It's a homely home. Thankyou, each and every day.
My mum became a resident of Walton Manor on NYE 2024. I wanted to wait a period of time before leaving a review in order to gain a full understanding of the care she is receiving rather than make a snap judgement. What is heartwarming for myself is that the gut feeling I had about the home has not wavered from my first visit to look around the home until now. It is a feeling of genuine care, professionalism and compassion. The words care home are quite pertinent as that's exactly what I see on every visit - a caring home. All the staff work as a team, know one another and work together, creating a homely feel that ultimately benefits my mum. My mum was quite distressed on arrival, after spending 2 months in LGI but became settled and calm very quickly. She still is. She is treated with dignity, respect and kindness. All the staff are familiar to her as they don't change. The staff are all full time. Great facilities in a beautiful environment. Well done and thank you!
My dad went into Walton Manor when Mum had a fall. He has dementia and cannot cope on his own. The staff were amazing, helping him to settle in. He is now there permanently and is so much more content than when he lived at home. He has much more social contact as well as activities available. The staff pick up much quicker if he gets a water infection but he now drinks more so we have less issues. Overall Dad is in better health and more content now at Walton Manor. The staff are very friendly and caring. We are delighted with his care.
I visited Walton Manor last year with a friend to see her mother. On first impression was very good, felt warm, friendly with attentive caring staff. Most of the residents doing armchair exercises to music. The lady in charge was very attentive and extremely lovely with the residents and they were laughing and really enjoying it. As a visitor the staff were very welcoming and I felt my friend's mum was very well cared for.
My dad has received such lovely care over the years he has lived at Walton Manor but especially recently when he hasn't been in good health. The staff are caring, patient, understanding, and always find time for a chat with Dad which is really heartening as he spends a great deal of time by himself. He feels safe, cared for, and content in his home. Thank you to the wonderful Manor team.
All the staff have shown genuine care for my dad. They take time to build relationships and show concern for his wellbeing. The manager has always been happy to discuss any concerns we have had and worked in partnership to identify appropriate solutions. The home is well furnished and has a lovely garden where we can sit. Dad is very comfortable in his room. Dad enjoys the food. I have already recommended the home to other people.
My mum had a 3-week respite care at Walton Manor. She was apprehensive as all she could remember was her mum going in a home in the 1970s. How different was this going to be? Mum enjoyed her stay and was sad when it came to an end and would be very happy to revisit her friends occasionally, to revisit for more respite (when needed) and when living at home becomes too much, will be very happy to become a permanent resident in the future. She loved the carers, the residents, the social activities, and just the fact that she can talk all day long! A marvellous experience for her both now and hopefully in the future.
Dad was a resident at Walton Manor for 21 months. He was well cared for and well-fed. (He enjoyed his food). The management team and the staff knew him and our family well and he was treated as an individual and with respect at all times. The accommodation was upgraded with as little disruption to the residents as possible while he lived there and the garden is accessible and well-maintained. He loved that space. There are organised activities for the residents to join several times a week, but sometimes it's difficult for the staff to balance one resident's care requirements with another's need for support to access the activity. Where family members can visit regularly and support such things, they are welcomed and included as part of the Walton Manor community. Of course, there were hiccups, niggles and the occasional issue, but every member of staff was prepared to listen and work towards a mutually acceptable solution. In Dad's last few weeks at Walton Manor, care was exemplary.
The staff were very caring and helpful. Excellent staff just the home very busy with people with dementia. The home is lovely and very welcoming. The staff clearly care and are extremely helpful nothing is too much trouble for them.
My Mum has been a resident now at Walton Manor for almost 4 years and through that time we have seen lots of changes, the home has gone through a major refurbishment, with very little disruption for the residents, which is no mean feat! The management have rebuilt a lovely care team and very little agency have to be used. The carers, domestic and kitchen staff are always so cheerful and happy and literally nothing is too much trouble to ensure my Mum is well looked after and her needs are met. The management team are very hands-on and willing to listen, very approachable. It gives me great peace of mind to know Mum is here and as a family, we treat Walton Manor as home from home - just how it should be. Thank you to everyone at Walton Manor.
An excellent home for those who you love and want to be really cared for in their later years of life. Spotless, very comfortable, great friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, very easy to travel to. My mum is a resident here and although she has ongoing dementia she is very settled here. The suite she is in is excellent and reminds my mum of the caravan she used to have. The main care staff are very approachable and friendly. The management are also approachable and willing to discuss anything that is required. Yes, it is a little costly but seeing my mum settled and happy is worth it.
My lovely mum settled in quickly and made friends and experienced wonderful care. She particularly enjoyed the uplifting gardens and the fun and thoughtful activities from the staff and helpers alike. (Particularly during Covid). Towards the end, the staff offered both my mum and me wonderful support and care, which I will never forget. Thank you so much.
My dad had a great two weeks of respite care here at Walton Manor. All the staff are very pleasant and friendly. He enjoyed his time here. Thank you for looking after him so well. Would use again when my mum needs a break from his care at home.
Staff friendly. Disappointing that agency staff are used. The building needs decorating and carpets cleaned. Staff seemed stressed a lot of the time although tried their best. Appears to be a lack of management support. Covid guidelines not always followed whilst home in lockdown. Hot meals always cold although nicely presented. Care plans not always followed. Disappointing home for rating.
