Restacks is a small home in the conservation area of Hessle, with beautiful gardens and views from every room. The home never smells and is carpeted. Staff are well trained, hardworking, are inclusive and nothing is too much trouble. There are always 2 carers, one cook, housekeeping and office staff for approx 14 residents. Food is home cooked, my Mum has a purified diet and is specially catered for. She is offered food throughout the day and night. I have heard the manager offering to make an omelette or anything a resident fancies. No one will ever be given a meal or drink and not offered help. My Mum was mobile when she became a resident 12 years ago, she has been bedbound now for a number of yrs. She is turned hourly, always clean and well hydrated and does not have any bed sores. I have never had to raise a complaint in 12 yrs. I am well informed and included in decisions regarding my mum's care, I never have to worry about my mum's welfare, she is happy and well cared for.
My dad moved into Redstacks early March 2024. He was very taken with the home when we first looked around as it has a small amount of residents and has very peaceful environment. To start with dad only needed a small amount of assistance with his care. He was diagnosed with Heart failure and dementia and declined quite rapidly over a short period of time. His additional care needs and personal wellbeing were met without hesitation. All staff that interacted with my dad and our family were very caring and he/we were supported all the way through to his passing late May 2025. I am eternally grateful to the personal support I received at such a stressful time. I would definitely recommend Redstacks to anyone looking for a quiet, safe place of care for their elderly relative.
My Mum moved into Redstacks in August in 2018 following a Stroke. I looked at many Residential Homes but as soon as I visited Redstacks I knew it would be the right home for her. The staff were instantly welcoming to Mum and me and have not only cared for my Mum for the last six years until she sadly passed away in January this year but they treated her and me like family. I feel so lucky that she was always shown dignity and respect and looked after so well by all the amazing staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they always took the time to talk to her and make her smile and laugh. I am so grateful and would highly recommend Redstacks to anyone, who for whatever reason, has to decide that residential care is the best place for their loved one. The care they would receive from all the lovely management and staff is second to none.
My mother moved into Redstacks when she was 100 years old. She felt very comfortable there and enjoyed talking with the carers. The staff would always dress her nicely and do her hair so she felt at home. I found that the Home being small meant that I soon got to know the staff and it felt very welcoming. I could visit when I wanted and I always found it very clean and tidy. My mother enjoyed the meals, which were cooked on the premises. The staff always kept me informed and there were regular newsletters. When the time came for End of Life care , the staff really made my mother as comfortable as possible until she passed away at 105. I couldn't have wished for a better place for my mother to live her final years , cared for, safe and with dignity.
My dad spent 16 months in Redstacks and thoroughly enjoyed his time as a member of this unique extended family. On arrival, he was advised that everyone called it home and this was quickly evident as the staff were fantastic towards him and other residents. Being in Redstacks gave him a new lease of life and he said he wished he had gone in there years earlier. Completely changed my perception of care homes.
My father spent the last few years of life as a resident of Redstacks in Hessle before his demise at the age of 95. As with many families we had mixed feelings about him going into care but, once settled, our reservations were removed completely. Redstacks staff treated Dad with dignity and warmth and really could not do enough for him. He always stated it was a home not a hospital and felt that he was part of the family. The staff were always willing to sit and chat and cater to his needs. As a family we were always made welcome and telephone calls were encouraged when we could not visit. The home encouraged open dialogue and were available to answer questions and give advice. Dad was happy at Redstacks due to the staff for which we will always be grateful.
Dad joined Redstacks in October 2022, he chose Redstacks himself after viewing a few in the area and was welcomed warmly from the beginning. The home is beautiful, spotless and run very efficiently by the management team, communication is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are so caring and always treat Dad with the utmost respect. Dad says he feels part of the Redstacks family which is very reassuring to us as a family. Overall, I'd have no hesitation in recommending Redstacks and we are grateful for everything they do.
My dad has been in Redstacks for just over 2 years and is now 97. It is a cosy and comfortable environment where he is cared for so well, nothing is too much trouble for the staff for him or for us as a family. The staff are very well led by the manager and they all go above and beyond for their residents, if you ask for something to be done, it is without delay. We can visit anytime and stay as long as is needed. The environment is light and airy and immaculately clean. They have helped him to settle, as he did not want to leave his home and they have done everything in their power to help with this difficult time in his life. I would not hesitate to recommend Redstacks to anyone who is looking for care for a loved one.
This is a small family run place and beautiful, the service users are immaculate well kept, have a hairdresser in, and the place is spotless. The staff are fantastic, as well as management. And the management are really involved with the service users too and care about their staff. Highly recommend.
My aunt is currently living in Redstacks, we were worried about her safety but now we know that she is safe. The house is spotless their standard of cleanliness is excellent. The people that work there are friendly and we can visit her whenever we like we don't need an appointment that in itself is very reassuring. She is very happy living there she was afraid during the night but there she is checked on every hour. The home has everything that she needs all the staff I have met are so lovely to her and to us. They are mostly family that work there and they know the real meaning of care. I would highly recommend anyone to not hesitate if one of their family needs care to let their relative live there they are all in very safe hands. The house itself is lovely and the gardens around the back are beautiful. Nothing is too much trouble they are very well trained but it's the feeling you get when you walk in it's a family run home and you know that they care about their residents.
