My uncle has been cared for in Leeming Bar Grange since Sept 25 when he was discharged from hospital. My auntie his wife of 66 years, is also a resident now.
Kathryn the Manager facilitated an expedited admission for my auntie to enable them to be together at the end of my uncles life. My uncle
passed away peacefully in the home, cared for, warm and safe. With my auntie by his side surrounded by attentive and caring staff.
From the supporting GP practice, management team /administration team all the fantastic carers, cleaning and catering staff, I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism, compassion and care.
They take their time to get to know the residents as people and respect their individuality.
When you need extra support particularly when my uncle was end of life they could not have been more supportive and concerned for the families wellbeing as well as for the resident.
If you need anything at all, you only have ask. Thank you for being so amazing.

From initial engagement and assessment I found the manager approachable, knowledgeable and respectful. This gave me confidence about my mum going into the home. She supported my views and when there were challenges she rang me and communicated her thoughts. The staff are wonderfully, calm and
respectful. The activities coordinators provide 7 days of activities, unlike other homes my family have experienced in the past. Rooms are homely, clean and practical. More importantly my mum is clean, well fed, entertained, safe and happy. The nurse comes in once a week and addresses any health matters. All staff and carers, housekeeping staff, catering etc do a great job at keeping the residents happy and I can sleep knowing she is in good hands.

Our brother had already had a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease which we were managing at his flat in Northallerton. When he had his stroke in June 2024 the dementia became significantly worse and home care became impractical. Leeming Bar Grange provided him with a safe and caring environment and
gave us peace of mind that he was being looked after and respected there. The staff are very conscientious in their duties towards him and the other residents providing caring support and a lots of stimulation. We see this all the time as we or other family visit him about 3 to 4 times a week.

As a family we are very happy with mums care. Overall the facilities are very good and the residents are well looked after. A few more activities/outings would be good.

My mom has been a resident of LBG Care Home for almost three years now. In that time, she has been showered with support, laughter, endless cups of tea, lovely meals, fun activities, enjoyable trips and out, and most importantly, love. It is never an easy decision to place your loved one in a care
home, but from the beginning, we knew that she was safe, well looked after by wonderful staff and above all genuinely cared for. I cannot recommend this home highly enough.

Leeming Bar Grange provides both good care and a welcoming, homely feel. Staff are genuinely caring and look after my mum with compassion and care. Any queries or concerns are taken on board and listened to, which, as a son, is very important. Thank you to Leeming Bar Grange for looking after Mum as
well as you do.

We are very happy with the care my dad is getting at Leeming Grange, the staff have been helpful and caring with dad he has improved since been in the home health wise, he was unhappy about going in a care home, but has since settled very well.

My friend was admitted after 2 months of hospital admissions and 2 care homes, which he's had to leave because of his dementia, though they had been informed of this beforehand. The welcome you gave to him and us was most warm and continued to be so throughout his stay: from the excellent, always so
calm receptionists, through all the carers, housekeeping and maintenance staff and cleaners, he was met with dignity, respect, warmth and professionalism. Early on a maintenance man encouraged him so cleverly to walk (he's just stayed in bed or on a chair in other places); near the end one of the housekeeping staff sat with him voluntarily and all the staff showed compassion and professionalism. And behind them all was an excellent, very caring manager and her team delivering everything. But we must talk of my friend's end of life care, which couldn't have been better. We were constantly informed about what was happening and were able to spend many hours with him before he died, and when we were not there we knew his treatment could not be better. Because of you all he had a good, peaceful death, culminating in the beautiful way in which you arranged for his body to leave. Thank you to all of you for everything you've done for our friend during his last days.

In the 12 months since the new home manager was put in place Leeming Bar Grange has improved in many directions the whole team work very well as a unit.
General care is excellent, cleanliness is outstanding.
My mum has resided at Leeming for over 10 years which is testament to her care.

My Mum is so settled in this wonderful environment, the staff are all caring and attentive - some staff go above and beyond! The activities are well planned, varied and frequent, mum particularly likes the animals that visit the home and her trips out in the mini bus. Management always have time to
listen to us. Mum is staying here now for the rest of her life, she considers it home and is very happy.

My father spent a short spell of respite care at Barchester Leeming Bar Grange over Christmas. The whole experience was very positive with a personable and helpful team and excellent leadership from the Manager. The pre-assessment exemplified the approach here, with great understanding shown and a
very realistic 'can do' attitude. The home itself is quietly situated and well maintained with effective and diligent housekeeping, underpinned by a real sense of pride. Whilst not actually sampling any food myself, the Christmas dinner looked and smelt delicious! Many thanks to all the team for their hard work, sense of humour and dedication, very much appreciated.

My sister has been a resident for about eighteen months. When she arrived, she'd had a number of health problems, largely from Covid complications. When she arrived, she was made to feel welcome. Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home was her home and that people were there to help her enjoy it.
When she arrived, she had severe mobility difficulties. She couldn't get out of her chair without a great deal of help. She now can stand without assistance and walks with her 'walker' (and sometimes without).
She is happy and engaged in activities. She knows she is well cared for and that Leeming Bar Grange cares about her as a person.
I live almost 300 miles away and so don't see her as often as I might like. Leeming Bar Grange have been fantastic in keeping me involved through telephone calls and emails. All staff are approachable and welcoming and make time to discuss concerns or developments. Having been at Leeming Bar Grange yesterday I was again struck by how brilliant they are and how they are committed to making my sister's life as good as it can be.
Thank you.

My mum has been with Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for over two years. Since day one, she has been showered with care, concern and support. The care has been excellent. She seems to be very happy here and at ease. The staff go out of their way to help her and make sure she is safe and
listened to.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leeming to anyone.

I recently visited the home for their summer fair and what a wonderful occasion it was! It was very clear that a lot of hard work had gone into the day and that staff very much care about giving residents full and happy lives. This has been clear to see each time I visit the home. Something else
that stands out is how welcome I am always made to feel, nothing is ever too much trouble. And it doesn't go unnoticed!

I visit each week with one of my registered therapy dogs. We are also made to feel welcome and valued during our visits to the residents.
The staff are kind and caring and know the residents well. They provide a range of activities for the residents to stimulate and engage them.
I would highly
recommend Leeming Bar Grange as a first-class care provider.

My dad was a resident here from April to November 2023. His overall experience, and that of his family as regular visitors, is negative. I've gone through the process of the complaints procedure recently and I am not satisfied with the explanations given regarding his care and the lack of
communication from management in addressing important issues with us during his time there.
I must stress there were some very positive experiences in the home and some of the carers were caring and did all they could. On some of our many visits there, we witnessed staff doing a fantastic job providing care/activities for residents.
However, for my dad, on many occasions, it was not the case but I believe I cannot discuss details here. We found that the care described in Barchester publicity did definitely not match what my dad received. They couldn't meet his needs but no one from management spoke to us at any time to tell us. Communication didn't take place.
Overall experience - awful.

My husband was at Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for two and a half years before he died. His last years were made very comfortable by the very caring and capable staff, several of whom he came to trust, like and respect, as I did. It was an attractive place to live with lovely gardens. The
support I received during his last illness and after his death was second to none and very touching. I find it comforting eight months on to return to Leeming Bar now and then and am always welcomed warmly. The staff are like family.

Excellent afternoon in the garden weather was good. Staff took lots of care of residents applying hats and sunscreen, everything was presented very nicely and enough food for all. A most enjoyable afternoon.

Leeming Bar Grange put on a lovely teddy bears picnic, the weather was lovely, Mum really enjoyed it. Mum especially enjoyed the cake and Buck's Fizz.

Teddy bears' picnic.
A delightful afternoon for residents and families having a lovely picnic in the sunshine to celebrate dementia awareness week. Sandwiches, cakes, bucks fizz and a great atmosphere. What more could peoole ask for?
Staff, residents and families mixing and enjoying themselves.
My mum loved it.
Just one of the many things this fantastic care home offers it's residents.
