View Full Details of Omega Oak BarnMy Mother resides at Omega Oak Barn. During her time at the home Mums changing needs have been quickly addressed and managed with care and understanding from all the staff. There is a strong family feeling at Omega Oak Barn, all the residents are cared for with kindness and compassion. During my visits I am always made to feel welcome and never a nuisance. I receive regular updates and relevant information regarding Mums wellbeing and/or changes in her presentation. My Mum is always nicely dressed in clean and matching clothing. Staff actively encourage hairdressing if Mum will tolerate this activity. Mum is always invited to join in with the extensive activity programmes within the home, although may decline by choice to participate, but may observe from a distance. The food catering at Omega is excellent, offering fresh local ingredients to the residents each day. There is evidence during my visits that snacks, fresh fruit and extra fluids are on hand for those in need.
My Uncle is happy and relaxed in the care home. He is well cared for and likes to chat with the carers. He says himself they are very good to me here. He also enjoys dining with one of the other residents. Overall being in the home has had a positive effect on his life.
All staff at Omega have been immensely attentive to my mother and extraordinarily kind to me as she enters her last days. The manager has been amazingly kind and understanding at all times over the last three years. There is a peaceful atmosphere and no smell whatsoever in the building. The food also looks very good.
Overall the care my dads receives is second to none and the staff are very friendly and we know is in good hands.he has his problems and staff have dealt with this in a sympathetic way and he seems very comfortable in his surroundings and loves the food!
I have found the staff to be kind and caring. They are professional in their work and I am sure that they are looking after my parents in an exemplary manner. It is good to have this opportunity to express my appreciation of all they do. Thank you.
My mother often shows anxiety & resistence whenever a task involving her personal care is involved. Eg, showering & hair washing, nail trimming, eye tests & hair cutting. The staff are very patient & understand her reluctance & explore ways to accommodate her. As visitors my family & I have always found the OOB staff to be welcoming & friendly. There is an openess & 'transparency' atmosphere within the home which is very reassuring .The ambience is relaxed & we feel able to converse with other residents & wander freely in the community areas. Due to the cleanliness & upkeep of the home it doesnt have that 'old people's home odour' when you enter the premises which is important. I havent answered the last question as I have no experiance of other facilities like OOB or the costings. However I am absolutely satisfied with the facilities & the care that my mother receives at OOB. It is first class & a huge relief to me to know that she is in 'safe hands'
my mum is so happy loves been at omega barn always smiling and laughing loves all the staff gets involved in the activities with help from the lovely staff her room is very clean and tidy clothes are always clean thank you for all you do
My mother joined the home as a resident in early March. We were impressed from the start with the care and attention to detail shown by all the staff, who quickly learned and used her name and helped her to settle in to her new home and routines. My mother who had been unsure of what to expect was made to feel welcome and comfortable from the start and now thoroughly enjoys living there. My brother and my wife who visit regularly endorse this view. We are all especially impressed with the level of individual care and attention shown, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and appearance of the home both indoors and out and the quality of catering which is excellent. There is plenty of visual stimulus for residents suffering from dementia and we like the frequency and variety of the activities on offer (as does my mother). Posting photos of residents taking part is a nice touch and helps us to visualise what she is doing. Really pleased we made this choice.
On arrival the staff are friendly and very helpful, they ask who you are here to see and they always seem to know where everyone is. You can see how much the staff care about the residents, how they make the effort to get to know them, creating a warm, friendly and safe environment. It's a very friendly, happy home and I'm so glad we found Omega Barn.
Over the past 4 years, the team at Omega Oak Barn have cared for my mother, who suffers from advanced Vascular Dementia . All team members that I have encountered are polite, helpful , caring and supportive. Care Manager and Assistant Manager are dedicated , professional and committed to ensuring quality care for residents .They ensure relatives are kept up to date with any changes in resident's condition , or developments within the home. . My Mum is able to participate if wishes in a variety of activities , has regular access to services such as hairdresser, dentist and medical care if needed. The care home feels like a home, rather than an " institution" . Food is excellent!.
In my experience omega oak Barn is a professional and caring place. Residents are clearly well looked after and cared for. The staff and management are always helpful and kind. I really cannot fault the home in any way.
