View Full Details of Birchlands Care HomeMum arrived at Birchlands on 31st May 2024 and from the beginning was treated with kindness and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers and Mum settled in nicely. All the carers and staff have a lovely caring nature and both my sister and I were confident that Mum would be very well looked after. The only concern I did have was that Mum wasn't taken out side enough in her wheelchair. She would have benefitted from the fresh air and she loved having coffees in the local cafes.
Dear Reader's of this page Well I love they exterior of they property or they outside of they Nursing home in photos and in real life it really does show real splendour and I am been real honest here and real true facts. I will not mention they exteror garden front so much that I will give a miss nor they back for that matter so much as all feedback has to be really really positive on here these particular pages so hush hush. love there flowers in fact got a photo of these nor they car park as a skip is present and on they premises so hush hush again. As for They actual downstairs lounge well there's work that gets carried out what do you expect it to look like at this moment and I am can be really confident that this particular lounge for they residents downstairs can look as impressive as outside of this rather wonderful looking property. I love they reception of this old persons property in pictures and inreal life the Manager's office they water dispenser all get great score.
I'm thoroughly satisfied with how the manager addressed my concerns regarding my brothers' care. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. However, I'm a bit disappointed with the recent activities. Nevertheless, I believe this is something the care home can improve upon.
Mum has been a resident at Birchlands since December 2024. The care and support she has received has been fantastic and it has been a huge comfort to know she is local to us and so well cared for 24 hours a day. The nursing staff have always kept us upto date with mum's health etc and it's been very reassuring. The home has been undergoing renovations and it's great to see reinvestment in the home and facilities. I've had absolutely no doubt that mum has been absolutely in the best hands throughout her stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone considering it for a family member.
Very clean rooms. Lovely staff. Mum is clearly very well cared for.
Birchlands staff look after my wife and keep me informed. We have both had experience of other care homes as both a resident and visitors. This is the best one we have experienced. My wife, now 76 and was diagnosed with early onset dementia when she was 61. It has now progressed to Alzheimers and Bichlands can still provide excellent care for her.
My mother in law came in on EOL care and the care she received was exceptional. The staff were always happy to help, friendly and always made us feel welcome. In my mother in law's final hours we couldn't ask for better.
We, as a family, are so very lucky to have the peace of mind that Mum is here, being cared for by a team that has real compassion for all the residents and relatives. No concern or worry about my mum and her health is ever too much, the manager is always on hand to talk about Mum for which is am grateful and last week put things in place instantly after a conversation concerning Mum's dementia. This works really well being able to pop in and see the manager, it puts my mind at rest. I have confidence in her and her team when it's the care of my mum, then it's priceless.
I visit my nana roughly once per month, the facilities are always clean and welcoming, and the staff are kind, approachable and informative with updates about nana's condition and also what activities have been going on. The staff are smiley and able to keep the atmosphere light, which I feel is a necessary skill when my nana's mood can shift so suddenly with her dementia. My nana is on the nursing floor, the nurses in particular are very knowledgeable with her conditions.
My husband was on the nursing floor for 10 months until his death, looked after mainly by the same staff. The care and housekeeping staff gave exceptional service always with a smile. The nursing team were excellent. I felt consulted and listened to throughout. When my husband was on end-of-life care I couldn't have asked for more support. I am so glad I chose Birchlands. Thank you all.
My mum, when she passed away, had been in Birchlands Care Home nearly two years. The care she had was excellent. I can not fault it. It felt like a home. She was 98 years old.
From the day Dad came, the nursing staff have been amazing. They are both professional and have been a fantastic support not only to Dad but the whole family. His care has been amazing. All staff including carers, cook, cleaning, laundry etc are amazing, so glad we chose Birchlands.
Always a warm welcome from the whole team of staff. Exceptional level of care. Specifically want to mention one member of staff who has been nothing but supportive since day one. Thank you!
Some nurses are excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful. A huge thank you. One member of staff, in particular, is outstanding. Goes above and beyond for his patients, being firm and honest when needed. Connected well with my grandfather. A true hero. Has made some dark days manageable. This member of staff should be extremely proud. Thank you.
A caring facility with lovely, kind staff.
During my husband's stay, he was treated with respect by all the staff and during visits, all staff were polite and caring, even my dog was welcome to visit.
Welcoming and very friendly. Always feel comfortable when visiting and the care provided to my dad has been excellent. Staff are attentive and Dad's respite, post-discharge from hospital, and improvement in his condition improved enormously over the last few weeks. Thank you all.
Nothing is too much trouble. The peace of mind that Mum is in a wonderful environment, being cared for by lovely staff is welcome. The nursing staff, in particular, on the nursing floor provide care and compassion to my mum who has complex health needs. I know when I leave that Mum is in safe hands with a team of people that go above and beyond for her and that's all that matters.
Very good home, looked after my wife, doing a marvellous job. Everyone is so welcoming, what more can we ask for? The best place, always a smile and a laugh and such kindness.
My husband was transferred to Birchlands Care Home for end-of-life care. The team were amazing. Treated him and family/visitors with utmost respect and dignity. Fantastic care. Can't speak highly enough of all the staff caring for him, including nurses, care assistants, domestic and administration. My husband was very calm and peaceful, thanks to the environment and their care.
