We want to thank you all for looking after my Dad for just over a year and for the endless cups of tea he was provided with ! Even when he said he didn't get any, we know he could be difficult sometimes, but we miss him so much, even though it has only been a couple of days I miss coming in to see
you all and make coffee/ tea and miss my Dads complaning, but that was his way and I loved him, so thanks again for everything x

I'm happy with the care my sister is receiving it's not an easy job but she seems happy enough.The staff are very helpful and nothing is a problem to them I would recommend Sycamore to everyone who is looking for a place for a loved one .

All members of staff go out of their way to answer queries. Responses are prompt and supportive grounded in a good understanding of how the care sector works. We really feel staff (includes cleaners, laundry staff, kitchen staff and the activity co-ordinator) are invested in giving our Dad the best
possible care. They delight in what makes him happy and know how to interact positively with him. He feels safe and secure at Sycamore Boldon and was desperate to get home after a stay in hospital. Staff visited him in hospital, sent their well wishes and were a welcome committee on his return - he was thrilled. There was much support to help get him back home and my sister and I were very grateful for this.

Sycamore has been looking after my dad for 6 months so far and the care he has is outstanding. The entire team are outstanding. Laundry and cleaning team keep clothes and rooms (shared and individual) in a1 condition all with a friendly smile. Cooks do wonderful home cooked food and also take into
account any dietary preferences. Activities are well thought out and inclusive to all. Care staff on all levels are caring, attentive, genuine and deliver the most outstanding care at all times. I can't express the gratitude and reassurance that my dad is well looked after and genuinely highly thought of. All staff give time and all with a smile it's a wonderful family feel.

Having recently having my mother move into your care, I can't thank your lovely, professional and friendly staff enough. It's never easy to make the decision to have a loved one enter full time care, however, you have all made this process so comfortable and we are completely at ease and confident

My mam has been in Sycamore Care Centre Boldon for 6 months, my reason for waiting to write a review is I wanted to wait, see how she settled before I gave an honest review of her care.
Firstly staff : Every member of staff, nurses, carers, domestics, kitchen, activity coordinator and not
forgetting management as it all starts from the top! Makes this place shine, always a smile on their faces and nothing seems too much trouble even though we know how hard they work they always seem to go above and beyond for my mam and I cannot fault her care.
Food : My mam always enjoys all her meals, she has also gained weight which is brilliant as it shows she is getting all the nutrition she needs.
Cleanliness : Sycamore is always spotless! smells clean and fresh, my mams room along with all the other areas is cleaned daily and is comfortably furnished, bright and homely looking.
Finally : As a family we are thankful for the brilliant care my mam receives, our mam is safe, well cared for and happy

The care and professionalism shown to mam and to us at this difficult time was excellent.
After mams passing we received a call from the home asking after our welfare and we received a beautiful
bouquet of flowers.

I would like to thank you on behalf of myself and my brother. I have already submitted a review earlier in the year but wanted to thank you for your support after our mum passed. I had a call asking how we were coping and a lovely gift of flowers plus staff representing the care home attended her
funeral. At a time of great sorrow you helped alleviate some of the grief with your thoughtfulness. The kindness and support you show the residents and relatives is something very special.

A warm, welcoming, and vibrant home with a genuine heart where loved ones are cared for and nurtured!
Nobody relishes the thought of a loved one requiring residential care. Faced with this issue we looked at almost 20 provisions before choosing Sycamore Care Centre Boldon. This proved an excellent
choice, one that I can fully recommend. Mum resided at Sycamore for 22 months during which Sycamore enriched her life due to positive care and regular, meaningful activities.
The staff at Sycamore proved second to none, demonstrating care, smiles, compassion, and genuine empathy for residents. This was combined with skill and resilience in day-to-day care. Mum developed positive relationships with fellow residents and staff alike as we as family members were also able to do. When issues arose, we could discuss them openly with staff and approachable management, enabling positive outcomes. When Mum unexpectedly passed away recently the kindness and support were simply overwhelming.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. My mother had extremely complex medical needs. The staff were exceptional in providing nursing care and compassion. The decor in the home is beautiful. The food was excellent (and she was very fussy). Nothing was a problem or too much trouble for the
staff. When my mother passed away, the kindness and support shown to us was exemplary. Thank you to you all.

My partner's stay at Sycamore Care Centre was first class. All staff are fantastic, professional and very hard working, demonstrating lots of empathy and an abundance of social skills dealing with inpatients with very varying complex needs. They made my experience as a daily visitor much nicer
knowing everyone was so helpful, supportive, maintaining their focus on their job at hand whilst building a great rapport with me. The home itself is a lovely modern environment with plenty of lounges and large corridors. Daily entertainment was great too.

My dad had a short stay in the Sycamore Care Centre - Boldon before he passed away. The staff treated my dad with great dignity and respect while he was receiving end-of-life care.
The staff were always there with support and assistance at a very difficult time for my family.

Poor atmosphere. The food is very poor, cheap and bland and very small portions, not balanced and no fresh fruit.
Some carers are very good but some have no training. Would not recommend.

My mam was fast tracked to this care home from hospital in January 2023. The food they serve is really bad, very small portions and poor quality food. Very rarely any decent fruit or vegetables, older people need nutritional food and nice quality food with plenty of choice. My mam will hardly ever
eat the food, it causes her distress it is so bad. Older people should be given the best food.

I cannot praise the staff and management of Sycamore Care Centre - Boldon highly enough. They are an unselfish team of dedicated individuals who have one of the toughest roles in caring for aged guests - many at end of life. My mum has received 24-hour attention, and no matter what the call - it is
carried out with great consideration and respect. They seem to cope with every challenge with a smile and grace, from the manager all the way to the cleaning and maintenance personnel. I am totally impressed. The facility is more like a 4-star hotel than for care!

From the management to the staff, my mother has been welcomed into the care home. Everyone has been so caring and approachable, and my mother seems so happy and content. She always has company and activities going on to keep her engaged, and I know she is safe and warm.

Everyone at the Care Centre went above and beyond what was needed. The care and compassion shown to my late Father were humbling. I am glad he managed his last few weeks here as he was a person and not just a room number.

In my experience, Sycamore Care Centre has everything that a family could wish for in relation to care for a loved one. All the necessary components, such as efficiency, cleanliness, dedication, attentiveness and compassion, are all of the highest standards. The Centre is managed in a way that has
exceeded all expectations, and the staff are all highly trained and present as genuine, caring and devoted people. As a family, we are so happy and relieved that Mam has agreed to spend her final years at Sycamore.

I have found Sycamore Care Centre - Boldon to be a very good standard of care. Since my dad became an occupant of the home, I have found he is included with other residents in activities and is included with staff. His room is clean and tidy, he is fed well, and his general well-being is good. He is
kept clean and fresh.
