View Full Details of Barchester Washington Grange Care HomeThe staff at Washington Care Home are exemplary in the care they give to their residents. My sister-in-law passed away on 15th July after 5 1/2 yrs in their care. Could not have asked for better care. They were by her side until the end. Thank you all. My brother is also in the same home receiving all the care and attention he needs as my sister-in-law did. I visit every week. He is always clean and well dressed. He loves to flurt with the girls! It makes his day! Thank you for all you do for him. xx
First time I came she was asleep but people we left her with were taking and cheerful, even cuddled me before I left. Home looks lovely, tidy, nice and clean. Staff are so friendly and made us welcome. She was asleep at first but woke up and we got on great, first time for a long time. Second visit she was so different, much more talkative.
I first visited Washington Grange to 'suss' it out, a couple of months ago. All staff took time to show me around and explain everything. During that visit I knew it was the right place for my step-mum to be. Now that she is here, the whole family is very happy with everything at the Grange. Very friendly and caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Great attention to every detail and people treated as individuals.
My dad was a resident from November 24 until his death on 23/4/25. Right from the start he was treated like a family member by the staff, so caring, friendly, kind and professional. The care home public areas and his bedroom were always clean and warm. The home cooked meals and snacks were delicious and plentiful. There was entertainment for the residents, visiting singers, local school children and trips out. His clothes were regularly laundered. We could not have asked for a better. Home from home for our beloved dad.
My dad came in 6 weeks ago. I am very impressed with the place. It is like a hotel. The staff are very friendly and I have no fear of him receiving any abuse. My dad seems very settled. I wish the car park was bigger with many more spaces, otherwise it is very good.
Like so many of his generation my 96 year old father has a fierce independent streak. Some months ago, when he was first admitted, he was extremely uncooperative and confrontational. The wonderful staff insisted that they wouldn't give up on him and would persevere with him. I was doubtful. I shouldn't have been. They have completely turned things around. Dad is settled, eating better and participates in the activities. The care given is on show every time we visit. A massive thank you to all the staff.
My dad lives here now he's happy clean comfortable and well fed looked after brilliantly the staff adore him. This home is well maintained the staff are fabulous they always make you feel welcome. The place is spotless and the food looks so yummy all homemade and plenty to choose from. Leaving my dad there I know he's in good safe hands.
After a week resident very settled & interacted with carers who were very patient and warm towards him, Food very good and plenty of liquid through out the day. The resident has dementia, very confused and little speech. He is kept spotlessly clean & presentable.
Visited Friday 17th and Saturday 18th January 2025. I was impressed by the care staff who were engaging and interactive with all residents present. My aunt looked well cared for, hair and nails are done weekly. She was happy and comfortable. She gets on with all the care staff. The food was of good quality and I was asked if I would like to join her for lunch. Her daughter-in-law visits regularly with my aunt's dog, who she misses greatly. The afternoon entertainment was provided by a young singer. He had a fabulous voice, sang a variety of styles. All throughout, he was encouraging the residents to join in, dance and sat with them if they were unable to get up. The residents appeared to really enjoy themselves, singing, dancing, clapping and generally joining in. The manager was present both days and very interactive with her residents and staff. The home was clean, tidy and well cared for. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to this home.
My grandmother transferred from another home to Barchester Washington Grange Care Home due to lack of care. She did not speak at all. Since being at Washington Grange, she has spoke to us, looks happy, we can't thank staff enough.
My mam stayed at Barchester Washington Grange Care Home for one week of respite in October 2024. She had a very pleasant and happy week with all of the staff being very caring and friendly. The care home itself has a very homely, warm and comforting atmosphere and I knew instantly my mam was going to be cared for at the highest of standards. All of Mam's needs were catered for. She enjoyed all the meals, from breakfast to evening meal. She enjoyed the entertainment and mixing with other residents. Our family want to thank all of the staff for taking such great care of our mam's needs. We want Mam to stay with you again.
My mam has been in Barchester Washington Grange Care Home around sixteen months. She settled well nad this was due to the lovely team of carers. Mam was very poorly again end of June and the team was very good and reacted very quickly. She ended up in hospital for a week and just wasn't herself when she returned to the Grange. The staff kept a close eye on her and she's getting better with their help. I couldn't ask for a better team of carers.
I visit my friend every week. She is well looked after. We are all made to feel welcome at all times. There is a very pleasant atmosphere in the home.
I visit weekly staff are lovely and friendly, I always get a cup of tea and made to feel welcome.
My mam is happy and well cared for in this lovely, homely environment. Without the care and support she has received she would not still be here. I will be eternally grateful for all they do for her.
Very grateful for all her care and support.
Mother-in-law has been a resident for one year. Very well looked after. Personal needs are very well met. Excellent relationship with local GP practice. Carers are very involved and attentive. Good could be better but that is being addressed. Generally, a very good service and a well-delivered experience.
Both my parents reside at Barchester Washington Grange Care Home. My mam is in the advanced stages whilst my dad is less advanced. His needs are sometimes complex as he can become quite agitated and confused. The girls are fabulous, they always act with compassion and understanding. I feel content in the knowledge that they are both well looked after and cared for and loved.
Can't fault, staff are very caring and considerate. Mam was in and out of hospital prior to moving to Barchester Washington Grange Care Home. There have not been any admissions since, a testament to the excellent care. Food, however, is not great, not at all similar to what she is used to. Mam's worse, "It's food for children, not adults". My mam prided herself in a very healthy, low-fat diet with a great choice of vegetables, salad and fruit.
Dad has settled well, he still, from time to time, gets upset but the staff are fantastic and calm him down by talking to him. They are all very caring and cheerful which has helped my sister and I relax more and not worry. The atmosphere in the home is so lovely, it's like one big happy family. I would definitely recommend the home to others.
