You know when you walk into somewhere and you know you're in the right place? That's how we felt the first time we visited Burn Brae!
Burn Brae is a lovely, friendly, homely place where residents are encouraged to use their independence and make decisions for themselves with expert, kind and caring
support.
The staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and our questions were always answered with sensitivity, a smile and a joke. I can't praise them enough for the care and dignity they gave mam, despite some challenges! They did what our family couldn't do for the last three years of her life and we will always be very grateful to them.
I honestly feel she felt at home there, enjoying the activities, the delicious food and the "banter"! When we visited we were always made to feel part of the Burn Brae family.
The Burn Brae team are very special people who do amazing work, I would definitely recommend this care home.

My Mother was 94 years old and suffering from Alzeheimers when she went to live at Burnbrae Lodge. She lived there for over 3 years before she died in November 2025 aged 97. She was cared for with patience, dignity and love and could not have been made more comfortable. The Burnbrae Team were the
most wonderful carers who never let her down, were always there as she needed them. They protected her and loved her and my family will always be grateful for their dedication. She did not live "in" a Home, she was "at" Home with her Burnbrae family. Thank you Burnbrae Lodge Care Home. Outstanding care, understanding and empathy for my Mother throughout her residency with you. Thank you for always making my family welcome on visits to Mum and for your support of us as well as your care of Mum.

My mother had advanced dementia and when we could no longer manage her needs, she moved to Burn Brae Lodge in Corbridge where she lived for 4 years.
There may be plusher homes locally but, to us, they are style over substance. When you must move a loved one into a residential home, the most
important consideration is the level of care given; my mother's care was exceptional. The team at Burn Brae treated her like a member of their own family.
Burn Brae Lodge is privately run by a local family and management ensures facilities are up-to-date and conducive to residents' needs, not easy in our uncertain financial, economic and political environments.
We can never forget the annual barbecue, nor the support received at 1 am from a member of staff, ensuring my mother did not spend her last few days in hospital. We were given 24-hour access and she passed away in a serene, comfortable and familiar environment. The care shown to our family at that sad time was so thoughtful. We have no hesitation in recommending Burn Brae Lodge.

My father was a resident for almost two years until his death in March 2016.
Dad had suffered from Alzheimer's for several years and had been looked after by my mother before he came to live at Burn Brae as his condition deteriorated.

and provides a caring and homely environment for all residents.
They treat all residents with respect and dignity and provide all the support and care needed, always treating each resident as a individual with specific needs, within a "home from home" environment.
