View Full Details of Rickeston Mill Nursing HomeCarers very helpful and pleasant. Overall the atmosphere is good, visitors treated well.
Just joining the team at the nursing home, I am surprised at the care given to residents. Their dignity is protected, the staff work very hard, and have welcomed me into the team. Their food is always healthy, cooked in the home, and the fluids are frequently given to the residents. All in all, a well run nursing home. Congratulations to all staff.
My husband has been a resident at Rickeston Mill Nursing Home for 2 1/2 years. The standard of nursing is excellent and all his social and physical needs are met. He is happy and content there because the staff make it such a happy place, always smiling, friendly and cannot do enough for each resident. Abundant drinks are supplied, choices of meals, freedom to choose activities, walk around or take a rest in beautiful bedrooms. Wonderful place!
Would not recommend since new management. Neglectful care led to my mother falling from a high bed. Unsafe medication administration where meds were kept by my mother and she was unable to take but other mobile patients walking around could have taken. The manager has no nursing experience which is obvious. No compassion. No contact since Mother died. Turnover of staff is quick and good carers leave. The standard of care is poor. Dirty nails, late wash. Left in bed. Not given food which was brought in for Mother.
Very friendly, welcoming, helpful and approachable. The home is undergoing renovation/refurbishment and we've seen a huge improvement in the six weeks we've been visiting.
Highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly, lovely location. They looked after my father during his last 12 months with great care and dignity. A++
Having to place your much-loved spouse, of many years, in a nursing home is not something anyone wishes to do. But I must say Rickeston Mill is proving to be a very homely environment, albeit second best to having her at home. Although the premises may be rather old and a little tired, it is the staff that makes it what it is. They are caring, attentive, helpful and cheerful and seem to enjoy what cannot be an easy task. They all know each resident well and consequently are responsive and sensitive to their individual characteristics, behaviour and needs. There are regular activities to help provide stimulation and the food appears plentiful and wholesome.
One of the most upsetting things I've ever had to do is make the decision to place my Dad in a care home. Dad has severe dementia. After a tricky start, we found Rickeston Mill. Upon entering the jolly atmosphere was immediate! I knew Dad would be happy here from the smiling faces and the obvious effort by staff to create a homely environment. Every month they have a schedule of activities for the residents to enjoy. Last year is the first year Dad couldn't join us for Christmas. It was heartbreaking, but we left Rickeston Mill smiling on Christmas Day. Christmas tunes, Santa, gifts, dinner, drinks, buffet, wonderful tree! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Rickeston Mill. They always provide entertainment, arts and crafts, games, invite choirs and musicians, always stimulate with decorations and films and appropriate music. The level of care is 100% and it's always spotless. The staff are wonderful. Thank you, Rickeston Mill, for providing Dad with a wonderful home.
