View Full Details of Glenburnie Care HomeMy mother was a resident of Glenburnie for 10 years, and I am glad to have chosen this carehome for her. The staff were great. Always friendly and always willing to give information about mum on request. Mum settled in nicely at Glenburnie and the staff warmed to mum. The staff spoke well of mum. I would always get a prompt telephone call if anything had happened to her and they would explain the circumstance. She was always well presented when I visited her. Her room was always clean as well as her clothes and bedclothes. All in all, her last years, although blighted by dementia, were comforting because of the support she received from Glenburnie. And for that I am truly grateful to Glenburnie. I would definitely recommend Glenburnie as a care home for someone with dementia.
If I could give 10stars I would. I am more than happy with the care my dad receives since he moved into Glenburnie after a period in hospital and unable to live alone anymore. Dad is treated with respect and I feel he has settled well to his lovely new surroundings. His room is always clean and tidy as are all the communal areas. The home has a lovely homely feel and was my first choice for dad when I was looking for somewhere for him to stay. All the staff are brilliant and very caring towards the residents. If I have any queries I know that I will be happy with the outcome. There is always something going on for the residents to take part in if they so wish. I feel so happy that I chose Glenburnie as dad's new home.
Staff are respectful polite and kind to my mother in law. Home is clean and well maintained. The staff entertain the residents and involve them in regular events. Most residents seem happy and content.
My Mother-In-Law has been a resident of Glenburnie for many years, she suffered with dementia when she first arrived and has always been treated with great respect and all her complex needs have never seemed like too much troubled. In more recent years she has became bed bound, all the staff do their very best to make her as comfortable as she can possibly be. Family visit regularly but if there is any health issue the staff inform us straight away. The whole family have nothing but praise for the staff and we wouldn't want her to be any place else. The Home is kept very clean and is always welcoming. Lots of activities going on and lots of smiling faces.
All staff are extremely attentive and very friendly, they make you feel welcome and makes living in Glenburnie as if your all the same family. Visitors from family and friends get to know staff and residents which is nice helps everyone.
My uncle has lived at Glenburnie for almost ten years and, throughout that time, he has been well cared for in a fairly spacious room overlooking the golf course where he used to work as starter. The home is well located within the community of Leven, convenient for public transport. The home and grounds are well-maintained, with regular redecoration of rooms. Meals are served either in residents' rooms or in a very pleasant communal dining area (with adjoining TV lounge) where entertainments are sometimes provided. By all accounts, the food is good, and my uncle has been thriving on it. The staff are very kind and patient, and are quick to summon medical assistance when required. The home has a real 'family-run' feel, much better than more impersonal, larger establishments.
Overall Glenburnie is a fantastic home, staff and management are very attentive, nothing is ever a problem. My aunt is very happy with the care she receives which as a family member makes me equally happy. On occasion I feel the home is relatively short staffed but this is a nationwide problem not just Glenburnie.
My mother has only been at Glenburie for a short time. In that time I cannot fault the management and staff. They look after my mother very well and with respect They are able to find out quickly if she is not feeling right and resolve the matter. The care home is very homely and friendly. You are made welcome when you visit. They are always available if you have any questions.
I have nothing but praise for care that my mother has received during her years' stay at Glenburnie. She had her own comfortable room with an adjustable bed, tv, en-suite etc. Her increasing frailty and subsequent palliative care was no problem for the staff to deal with. She loved the attention of the able and cheery staff who were regularly in her room helping with meals and making her comfortable. She never once had a complaint. Visiting was easy at any time and staff regularly liaised with family on the phone.
A good experience, friendly and hard-working staff. Always there to help you and explain anything that has happened. My mum's room is always clean.

I would pop in now and again to see a friend and always made welcome. I have been in when a singer has been in and what a great atmosphere, nice to see the staff up dancing with the residents. The therapy pets are a favourite of my friends.
The level of care is so personnel, the home has adapted quickly to my mum's ever-changing condition. They are so quick to identify when something isn’t right and act on it. She is well cared for, and she, in turn, loves the staff.

My parents have resided in the care home for a couple of months. My mum has dementia but seems very happy and content. She enjoys various activities and likes to join in. My father is always praising staff on the way they are with mum and his self. He is starting to enjoy activities also. The food is amazing. Dad is always saying how much he enjoys the meals. Mum always finishes her meals too. Their rooms are also lovely with everything they need in them. Very clean and comfortable.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident in Glenburnie for over two years. She is content and happy in her surroundings. The staff are caring and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of her individual needs. Any change in her condition is quickly identified and appropriate action taken with the family being included in the process. Glenburnie has a very welcoming atmosphere. It is clean and homely. The food is tasty, freshly prepared on the premises and much enjoyed. Visitors are always offered tea, and it is lovely to be able to share this sociable experience with my mum. My father visits daily; very much enjoys his tea and cake (and special meals at Christmas). We also celebrated his 90th birthday in the home, and cook even made him a cake! These important details all contribute to Mum feeling Glenburnie is her home. Regular meetings for residents and relatives promote shared decision making, and there is clear evidence of the important management place on staff training.
I am so happy with how my aunt and uncle are both being looked after in the care home, due to my aunts health deteriorating, and not being so able - her and her husband have adapted well to the change.
