The home provided excellent care to my father, he was anxious about going into care but Haylie House became his home very quickly. The staff were very attentive and treat residents like family. I cannot praise them highly enough.
My mum has dementia and moved into Haylie House recently when my dad and the family could no longer meet mum's needs. As a family, we have been very impressed by the quality of care, compassion and person centred approach mum has received. The activities and focus on wellbeing has been great- mum is enjoying life and loving her new home. We feel as a family that mum is happy, engaged and well cared for. The activity programme led by Linda is diverse, stimulating and focused on living well. The care team led by Irene are professional. We are welcome at anytime, as is mum's poodle Maggie. We feel very fortunate to have such great care. The charitable status of Haylie House means the focus is on care and not profit, values are demonstrated and families part of the care.
Our parents moved into Haylie House in February 2021. Sadly had vascular dementia and dad was caring for her. As COVID hit , mums condition worsened and dad's isolation also became an issue .I worked as a nurse and tried to visit daily from a safe distance, scared that I would pass on the COVID virus Eventually In march 2021 dad decided they were both moving into Haylie House. They went in together and settled very easily into the home setting . Staff cared for mums needs and dad gained the reassurance and care he was also needing . Mum sadly passed away in December 2023. The care that was given to my dad and our family was unsurpassed. They not only provide genuine care, but go beyond in providing daily activities in games ,cafes ,bridge group, home cooking & baking, a men's group and a safe environment for their residents. The homes is a clean, warm home from home for the residents, providing genuine care, family support and excellent facilities to all.
Excellent care home. Sadly Mum's dementia means she can't always appreciate all the activities, but it's always a busy lively place. It's a good size - staff know the residents and their families. Staff turnover appears to be low, which suggests a happy working environment. Families always welcome to join in with all that's going on.
My sister and I had a lovely afternoon at the Haylie House Cafe yesterday. The staff had set up one of the lounges as a cafe with specialty coffees, teas and soft drinks available. There was a lovely home baked Lemon cake and lots of tasty treats to sample. Our dad enjoyed just listening to the chat around him and the change of scenery. One resident said "it's nice to get out" which was lovely to hear. The staff at Haylie House are very welcoming and caring to not only their residents but to relatives and visitors too. They go above and beyond to ensure the residents are stimulated and included in various ways according to their individual abilities, likes and dislikes. It's nice knowing my dad is safe and having all of his needs met by a great team of hardworking and caring people. Haylie House is a not for profit care home and all charitable funds raised are used for the comfort of the residents and in my opinion that makes a huge difference.
My mother entered Haylie House Residential Care Home in October 2019, she was quite frail. In the last two years, she has settled really well looked after by carers. On every visit to the home, I am made to feel very welcome by all members of staff, cleaners, laundry, kitchen and carers. I feel they all know Mum and her habits. Management and staff have kept residents safe throughout Covid pandemic.
My aunt and uncle moved to Haylie House in November last year. This allowed them to stay together with the assistance of a great team of staff. They settled in quickly and enjoyed moments of privacy along with all the assistance they required. My aunt died in September, and the staff have supported my uncle through this very difficult time. The home is spotless and welcoming and never has any adverse aromas. If and when I require this care, I would choose Haylie House. There are always things going on for the residents and services are reviewed regularly.
My mother was transferred from another care home to Haylie House on 10/10/2019. From the moment she arrived, she has been welcomed and looked after excellently. Efficiency, cleanliness and attention to detail have to be praised, from cleaners, kitchen staff, cares, administrative and management, all are welcoming to relatives and make residents life a pleasure. It can only be described as a home from home. Well done!
