View Full Details of Lochleven Care HomeOverall, very good experience. Nurse on Katrine Wing outstanding with personal care and extremely approachable. All other care staff very good. Mums health has improved since arriving. In terms of improvements two main ones would be repairing the lift and the stairway carpets is in need of being replaced on way to Katrine wing. This would really improve initial impression. In summary very happy.
The staff at Lochleven are hard working, kind and treat all the residents and relatives with care, support and dignity. The home is always clean and fresh I would highly recommend Lochleven care home.
My partner has had the best care possible so far. The staff I have come in contact with are very nice and helpful. My partner seems content and settled. He does relate to the staff. Unfortunately due to the lift not working in his unit he was unable to get out unless it was an appt. He was also unable to take part in a lot of the activities are they were held mostly in another unit. However he has now been moved to a room in another unit with a working lift.
My brother has now been in the care home just over six months. His quality of life has greatly improved all down to the care he has received. Mobility is back and he is walking better. Activities definitely encourage help slow down a decline and the staff are excellent joining in and promoting the best quality of life
Loch Leven looked after my mum for the last 6 months of her time. I found the staff very helpful careful, attentive and sympathetic. They really helped us cope with the difficult times. They do offer a range of activities for the residents, but my mum preferred a quiet time and was respected. I would recommend LL very highly, it was really reassuring to know that she was in good, caring hands.
Lochleven provided a caring and loving home for my mother in her last months. The staff were all kind and supportive and couldn't do enough to help. The home senior staff were attentive and always communicated well if there were any issues. The home also handled my mother's last days with great care and dignity. I would recommend the home with enthusiasm.
I can't praise the home enough since my mum became a resident in the home last year. She has dementia and was extremely anxious going in as we were. One of the members of staff was there when I arrived and made me feel confident that she will be taken care of. Since then she and her team have been great with my mum and now she feels at home there and happy. Her care has been first class and the staff member keeps me up to date with her ongoing care. Another carer I must mention is great with mum and very patient. Thank you to all for looking after her. I also have to add the home is very clean and very bright rooms for the residents to sit and relax.
My mother was admitted to Loch Leven in November of last year, with the understanding that she would receive end of life care. She was suffering a number of health issues, including cancer of the womb. She was 95 and had lived independently till then. She was alert, talkative, and sociable, and initially had difficulties adusting to institutional care. She was made very comfortable and fully engaged in the life of the home, with activities, personal care and support, and a genuinely cheerful relationship with the staff. She became much more comfortable and made good friends with other residents. The food, care, and attention was excellent. My mother in fact lived another 8 months. Our family was made to feel welcome at all times and we were fully and candidly briefed on the challenges that her changing condition presented. I am particularly grateful for the management of her final days and hours, where I was helped unreservedly by the excellent staff. I will always be grateful to them.
Excellent Care Home fantastic staff that gave amazing care to my mother for a great number of years. In her last days, the staff made sure that we were cared for while sitting sometimes all night next to my Mum. So nice to see my Mum still having her nail polish on and her lipstick close by. Everyday clean clothes. Our family is so grateful for everything you did for Mum.
Most of my concerns are dealt with at the time or are passed up the line to deal with. There's Staff available at the time of visiting are always friendly and helpful. There's the odd occasion where someone would say they'll log my concern and someone will get back to me then it doesn't happen, and when I revisit nobody knows anything about it. It seems to be if I speak to the right person it will be dealt with properly. It's great to see on social media all the activities that go on in the home.
My friend took up permanent residency in the top nursing unit at Lochleven, she receives nothing but the best care and nothing is ever too much for anyone. We are all made to feel like we are part of a big family which I find comforting, any time we have visited there is nothing but happy smiling faces and it is always clean and tidy. There are always activities going on and they really do go above and beyond for everyone to make sure they are looked after. I would definitely be recommending Lochleven. The staff there deserve a medal for what they do there.
All the staff at the home have been great with the family and always able to accommodate to anything we need. They look after my grandad extremely well and the staff are just amazing. We don't have anything negative to say about the facilities or the staff and would 100% recommend it to any family who are looking to find a home.
My great-great auntie was in Lochleven for a short time and received the best care we could have hoped for. The staff treated her with love and respect and as if she was part of their family. The staff were quick to resolve any problems that we had and we felt that we could easily come and talk to the management team. Thank you!
In the last few months, some changes have been made for the good. More staff and more activities. Grooming has improved. Management always ready to listen. Overall very happy with my husband's care. Lovely staff, who work really hard and need a thank you.
As a new service users relative, there were a few hiccups when residency commenced. These have now been resolved by unit staff. With the care and attention my husband is getting he has come on leaps and bounds. You, as a care home, are giving him so much more care than I was able to do at home. He has settled in so well and is able to partake in particular hobbies and interests he has. I can't praise the staff in the unit and the activities coordinators highly enough for enabling him to partake in these hobbies and activities. Thank you all so much.
Since moving into the home, my mother has had a new lease of life. The family is happy that she is well cared for and is enjoying life in the home. The staff are excellent, professional and caring, and there is a happy atmosphere in the home. In fact, after her first week in the home, my mother said "I've laughed more in the past week than I did in the previous two years".
Over the years I've visited a few care homes but if could say for sure that Lochleven is by far miles ahead as far as care standards go. The well-being of my gran is second to none she absolutely loves it here and is always treated with the utmost dignity and respect.
Utterly abysmal care home. The lack of staff enthusiasm and care is appalling. On the latest visit, there was a resident who became violent to another resident and myself. I found it extremely worrying when staff did not respond to the resident's emergency alarm and laughed off the behaviour when told. The staff made no effort to acknowledge the visitor's presence and I was laughed off by a member of staff when I complained that the resident I was visiting had 1 sock in her entire room. Organisation and management are unsatisfactory and I believe it is an accident waiting to happen.
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful with my mother throughout her 10-month stay at the Care Home. They always made an effort to comfort her as her health deteriorated. The nursing staff in particular were very supportive. The Care Home is in an easily accessible area and has adequate areas for Communal eating and relaxing.
The staff were compassionate and caring towards my relative at all times , nothing was toomuch trouble and management dealt with any concerns I may have had swiftly. I couldn't recommend this care home enough.
