View Full Details of The Chiswick Nursing CentreI attended The Chiswick Nursing Centre from June to mid-August 2025, for convalescent care and physiotherapy following a spell in hospital. The care and facilities were outstanding and the physiotherapy has been transformative, enabling me to go home in good shape to face the next phase of my recovery. The staff have been, without exception, excellent and sympathetic in caring for me, and for the other residents. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone looking for short-term convalescent or for long-term care.
This nursing home delivers efficient, compassionate care with exceptional attention to wound management. Meals are nutritious and well-prepared, and the facility maintains high compliance with care standards. Highly recommended.
We had our mother who is 94 transferred to the Chiswick Nursing Hone after recovering from a broken femur operation. She arrived in a lot of pain, relying on the wonderful nursing staff for everything. She was still taken painkillers at least 4 times a day. The next day she started physiotherapy and given daily exercises to do . At first she found it hard work and very tiring . After 3 weeks she could feel the pain was not so severe and her painkillers was reduced. The food provided was very plentiful, a good variety and freshly cooked everyday. As she wanted to get back her independence she decided to stay another month and by the end she was able to walk by herself with the aid of a frame or walking stick and pain free. I can honestly say if you need some care and physio this is the place to come for however long you require. It also gives your loved ones peace of mind knowing that you are well taken care of.
I arrived from hospital on 12/5/25 having had knee surgery. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable adjustable bed. Bathroom also plenty of room for crutches with raised toilet seat and chair for washing provided. The care staff were all extremely helpful and a nurse on duty at night very reassuring Food also good with a wide choice and tea coffee and biscuits always available. The physiotherapy worked well with use of a small gym. My only reservation as I discussed with the office was the difficulty of obtaining enough ice for reducing inflammation in my knee, and although there was some made available it was not always enough. I suggested a Cryo cuff would be a good addition to the treatment available. All in all I was extremely happy with my rehabilitation at the Centre and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for this kind of facility in the future.
I spent a week in the rehabilitation/convalescent Balmoral Suite following a hip replacement op. All the staff were reassuring (especially in the few days after I arrived), friendly, helpful and caring and nothing was too much trouble. The daily physio was gentle but challenging.and beneficial. A really positive experience - I would recommend to anyone in a similar position.
I was delighted when I learnt that the nursing home had a vacancy in December 2024 and that my partner would leave hospital and become a resident. The nursing home was chosen, by recommendation, for its level of nursing care and support, as well as its physiotherapy. It is above all the physiotherapy which has ensured excellent progress towards my partner's complete mobility. For that reason I have awarded the nursing home 'good' for value for money, although I am aware of an imminent increase in the residential fee by 8.5%. The food needs to improve.
I spent nearly 3 months in Chiswick Nursing Centre. I was there due to having major surgery on my foot which meant I could not weight bear n my right foot for 9 weeks then had to start partial weight bearing. The care was excellent, any issues were quickly responded to generally and they adapted to what I needed as I improved. It was a godsend having access to physiotherapy as this meant I was able to maintain my muscle mass and I am sure was the reason I am now able to be at home and caring for myself. The only reason I gave activites a don't know was because I was much younger than other residents (by around 30 years!) so did not engage in them.
I recently spent two weeks at Chiswick Nursing Centre following a knee replacement operation, and I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. The nursing staff were amazing and professional, ensuring I was comfortable throughout my stay. The help from the care team was equally fantastic, always positive and encouraging, which made a real difference to my recovery. A special mention goes to the physiotherapist whose expertise and encouragement played a huge role in helping me get back on my feet. Overall, the support I received was second to none, and I'm very grateful for the outstanding care provided by everyone at the centre.
My mother needed temporary, respite care while her home was undergoing building works. She is 91, had had a recent hip operation and has dementia. The care home were wonderful in looking after her, providing regular physio sessions, and support when required. The standard of food, both for her and her visitors, was excellent, and varied as required. All the nursing and support staff were very friendly and attentive. There were regular events and entertainment organised, which my mother much enjoyed, and was an added bonus for us. She made a number of friends there, whom she will miss. Overall, we were delighted with the service from The Chiswick Nursing Centre and would both recommend it, and return if needed.
Sympathetic and careful care from nurses and carers, with excellent physiotherapy in attractive surroundings.
My dad is a resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre and needs 24-hour care after suffering a life-changing stroke. This nursing home has all the capabilities and facilities to deal with his complex nursing needs. They have been most helpful, supportive and understanding. The staff are kind and care for the residents. I would recommend this nursing home to others and thank them for the work they do.
The Chiswick Nursing Centre is excellent. Very kind and helpful nurses and staff. The care is first-class and much appreciated. I enjoyed my stay very much.
I have been very efficiently and politely served in all spheres while I have been here.
Very good service and attention to detail. The only criticism I have is the lateness of my completion of preparation in the morning.
All the staff seemed very caring, competent and friendly. They would occasionally forget to carry out requests but this seemed to be when staff were very busy, or there was not enough staff on duty. Physiotherapy very good and was really beneficial. The room was bland a bit poky (not very much room to operate in with medical equipment or more than one person). It felt like being in a 3-star hotel. Lighting was inadequate (an anglepoise lamp was brought in after the complaint). Food was mostly good but often tasteless. Having 2 menus was confusing. But the chef was willing to adapt meals at my mother's request. The client liaison person and Activities Coordinator helpful (although my mother did not wish to participate in any activities). A garden was advertised but no visits were ever offered. Management invisible and contract lengthy and difficult for my mother to read through. The drama of de-registering from her GP and registering with the resident GP nerve-wracking, but not the Centre's fault.
My friend is very happy and settled at Chiswick Nursing Centre. I visit regularly and have been very impressed with all the interactions I have had with doctors, nurses and the care staff. Everyone has been pleasant and welcoming to visitors and gentle and all the staff are equally pleasant and caring in their dealings with my friend and other residents. My friend enjoys all his meals - he definitely did not do so when he was in hospital! I have seen for myself how appetisingly they are presented, both on trays when residents are in bed and at the table in the day room. It is also very nice to be offered tea and biscuits when I visit my friend at tea time! I was very surprised at the amount of activities that are organised for residents. There is something going on each month. I was present when two alpacas visited, and saw for myself how much everyone enjoyed interacting with these gentle animals. My friend still talks about that visit.
I have been a temporary resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre for nearly five weeks and have found it a most pleasant experience. The staff are very kind and caring. The food is good, the premises are clean and the whole atmosphere is calm and peaceful. My thanks to all involved in the running of this centre.
I would highly recommend the Chiswick Nursing Centre from my first telephone call etc. I had a total hip replacement and wanted somewhere physio was included. I definitely was not disappointed. I stayed for one week and all the nurses, carers and the physiotherapy department were excellent. I stayed at the Balmoral suite. Thank you to everyone!
The Chiswick Nursing Centre has provided exceptional service for my sister in the Balmoral suite. The staff of Chiswick Nursing Center are extraordinary from the welcoming front desk person to the nurses, the carers, and all of the staff who support the residents. They are helpful, patient people who always have a kind word and a smile for residents and visitors alike. Food services and cleanliness are excellent.
Without exception every member of staff has been professional. Booking the room, receptionists, manager, nurses, catering staff, accounts, cleaners - all kind, helpful and welcoming. I feel my mum has people who connect with her and are proud of their work to help her as well as reassuring and communicating well with me so I get some support. When you promise to never put your parents in a home and then circumstances change you feel very apprehensive. The Chiswick Nursing Centre has offered the very best solution for us and is actively working to improve a difficult situation. It is a lot of money but when you realise the quality of care and provision it is understandable. It is tucked away in a peaceful but very handy location and feels like a hidden gem. As a daughter I believe that my mum is safe, respected, comfortable and improving with their care.
