Reviews

7.7 The Chiswick Nursing Centre has a Review Score of 7.7 (7.659)

The Review Score of 7.7 (maximum of 10) for The Chiswick Nursing Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 2 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for The Chiswick Nursing Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.0 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.625 for The Chiswick Nursing Centre is calculated as follows: ( (15 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.625

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.034 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Chiswick Nursing Centre is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 = 3

    2. Target of 29.2 positive Reviews (146 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 1 Reviews ÷ 29.2 Target = 0.034

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Came to Chiswick to continue healing of L4/5 spinal joints. Physiotherapy everyday was excellent and I'm now able to walk again with crutches and after 11 weeks I'm able to go home go the first time since June.

Steve Winter, Director at The Chiswick Nursing Centre responded to this review on 13 Jan 2017:

We are pleased to hear that your time spent at The Chiswick was productive. Thank you for your kind review.

My cousin was a resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre from January 2014 until his death in October 2014. It was not easy to persuade the authorities at that time to allow me to place him at The Chiswick due to a previous, negative report by the CQC dating back a couple of years. However with the help of various individuals it was made possible.

I am so glad we fought as hard as we did to have him placed at The Chiswick because the staff there more than lived up to my expectations of how one should care for the elderly; he certainly never had cause for complaint.

During his stay, I visited him on a weekly basis and always found him to be in good spirits - he seemed very content with his new home and with those helping him at the Centre. In September 2014, my cousin's health deteriorated markedly and it became clear that his life was coming to an end. During that time the care and devotion that was shown towards him by all of the staff at The Chiswick was a great comfort to all his family and friends and for which I give my wholehearted thanks.
