My dad is a resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre and needs 24-hour care after suffering a life-changing stroke. This nursing home has all the capabilities and facilities to deal with his complex nursing needs. They have been most helpful, supportive and understanding. The staff are kind and care for the residents. I would recommend this nursing home to others and thank them for the work they do.

Overall Experience

All the staff seemed very caring, competent and friendly. They would occasionally forget to carry out requests but this seemed to be when staff were very busy, or there was not enough staff on duty. Physiotherapy very good and was really beneficial. The room was bland a bit poky (not very much room to operate in with medical equipment or more than one person). It felt like being in a 3-star hotel. Lighting was inadequate (an anglepoise lamp was brought in after the complaint). Food was mostly good but often tasteless. Having 2 menus was confusing. But the chef was willing to adapt meals at my mother's request. The client liaison person and Activities Coordinator helpful (although my mother did not wish to participate in any activities). A garden was advertised but no visits were ever offered. Management invisible and contract lengthy and difficult for my mother to read through. The drama of de-registering from her GP and registering with the resident GP nerve-wracking, but not the Centre's fault.

Review from Denise T (Friend of Resident) published on 31 July 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My friend is very happy and settled at Chiswick Nursing Centre.
I visit regularly and have been very impressed with all the interactions I have had with doctors, nurses and the care staff.
Everyone has been pleasant and welcoming to visitors and gentle and all the staff are equally pleasant and caring in their dealings with my friend and other residents. My friend enjoys all his meals - he definitely did not do so when he was in hospital! I have seen for myself how appetisingly they are presented, both on trays when residents are in bed and at the table in the day room.

It is also very nice to be offered tea and biscuits when I visit my friend at tea time! I was very surprised at the amount of activities that are organised for residents. There is something going on each month. I was present when two alpacas visited, and saw for myself how much everyone enjoyed interacting with these gentle animals. My friend still talks about that visit.

I have been a temporary resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre for nearly five weeks and have found it a most pleasant experience. The staff are very kind and caring. I would highly recommend the Chiswick Nursing Centre from my first telephone call etc. I had a total hip replacement and wanted somewhere physio was included. I definitely was not disappointed. I stayed for one week and all the nurses, carers and the physiotherapy department were excellent. I stayed at the Balmoral suite.

Thank you to everyone!

The Chiswick Nursing Centre has provided exceptional service for my sister in the Balmoral suite. The staff of Chiswick Nursing Center are extraordinary from the welcoming front desk person to the nurses, the carers, and all of the staff who support the residents. They are helpful, patient people who always have a kind word and a smile for residents and visitors alike.

Food services and cleanliness are excellent.

Without exception every member of staff has been professional. Booking the room, receptionists, manager, nurses, catering staff, accounts, cleaners - all kind, helpful and welcoming. I feel my mum has people who connect with her and are proud of their work to help her as well as reassuring and communicating well with me so I get some support. When you promise to never put your parents in a home and then circumstances change you feel very apprehensive. The Chiswick Nursing Centre has offered the very best solution for us and is actively working to improve a difficult situation. It is a lot of money but when you realise the quality of care and provision it is understandable. It is tucked away in a peaceful but very handy location and feels like a hidden gem. As a daughter I believe that my mum is safe, respected, comfortable and improving with their care.

Overall Experience
We had a very good experience with The Chiswick Nursing Centre.
The staff who looked after my mother were wonderful and looked after her very well with great patience and sympathy. This applied not only to the carers and nurses but also to all the staff at different levels and in different jobs that we engaged with (including the people on the ground floor reception). We never met anyone at The Chiswick who was not very kind and cheerful and wonderful and patient with the residents.
The arrangements for medical care with the local GP's practice were also first-class and my mother saw the GP more in three weeks than she had seen her previous GP in the last three years!

We very much appreciated everything that was done for my mother in the time she was at The Chiswick.

I have always found all of the staff polite and friendly. I have also liaised with the management and office and have always had a prompt and timely response to my queries. I feel that my father is in safe hands and I know that the doctors are visiting him regularly and reporting to me. The nurses on his ward also seem to have a good knowledge of my father. The Chiswick has gone above and beyond in organising dentists and opticians. I am so grateful for the activities that are organised and try to participate with my father as it makes a difference to the visit. Very pleased with the service provided.

We have had a very positive experience at Chiswick Nursing Centre. The staff have been unhesitatingly kind, helpful and responsive. They have made sure my husband has had his needs regarding personal care and toileting handled sensitively and with dignity. The food and the catering have been of a high standard. We would highly recommend it as an excellent nursing centre.

Do not go here, from my experience you will be putting your loved ones in danger! Incompetent leads the incompetent!
The care staff lie a lot and the nursing staff believe them!
I have had to call an ambulance several times just to pee or they leave you long enough in a wet bed to get sores!
Be warned and watch out!

This is true to my personal experience.

As discussed when your mother moved into our care, it is understandable that she would have wanted care from female care staff and that was easily resolved as soon as we understood her wishes in that respect.

A very good experience. I was so very well cared for with every member of the staff being lost kind and helpful. A new boiler has now apparently been installed but prior to that I was without hot water in my bathroom for a time, but the staff coped admirably bringing in hot water from elsewhere.

Our loved one has been a resident at The Chiswick Nursing Centre since November 2022. Contrary to our concerns and expectations, she settled immediately because of the truly warm welcome the staff gave her and us. My dad is a resident at this care home. He is quite young for his age but has been very ill and needed to be in a home like this for his own good.
I think that this home is brilliant.
The staff are so kind and caring and not I nor my dad has ever had a problem. They cannot do enough for him.

The management is brilliant also, always answers my phone call and always helps in any way they can. My dad would send a review himself but can no longer use a computer. He has physio from the home and cannot thank the staff there enough for his care. I know you cannot please everyone, but our experience has been brilliant.
