View Full Details of Abbcross Nursing HomeMy dad came into this care home mid August 2025. He was very fretful and restless during his first few days and nights but the staff worked with him and constantly reassured him. He is now much more relaxed and settled in his new surroundings. We were able to bring furniture from home and was given a bigger bedroom to accommodate everything. The staff are kind, caring and compassionate. They listen to your concerns and act on them. I feel reassured that my dad is safe and being well cared for. The food is very nice and the variety is wide. I am very pleased with Abbcross Nursing Home
I am so impressed with Abbscross Romford. The standard of care given to my aunt went above and beyond what I expected. From the time she entered your care she became so up beat and enjoyed her life beyond what she was experiencing in her previous living arrangements. The staff are so attentive to the needs of the residents and interacted with them. The management is always on hand and supports the staff in every way.
Our aunt was a resident at Abbcross Nursing Home from June 2024 until her death on 25th August 2025. On her arrival at Abbcross, she was frail, with many medical conditions. The staff made her so welcome and comfortable and very soon she perked up and found a new lease of life. She soon became an extremely popular resident, helping others and taking part in so many activities. We cannot thank Abbcross enough for looking after her and giving her such wonderful care.
Mum came to stay at Abbscross after a 7 week stay in hosp. She has dementia and is unable to speak or feed herself etc. The transition.from living at home to residing full time in a nursing home was a big adjustment and abit of a shock. I can honestly say all the carers here have been so helpful and friendly and I cannot praise them.enough for the care they give to mum. They always speak to her and explain what they are doing even though she cannot answer my.mum always took pride in her appearance and they always have her hair looking nice and is always dressed. We had to look for.another home as this was initially a temp arrangement but after looking at so many other nursing homes none compared to Abbscross so when we heard that a room had become available and she was able to stay full time we were over the moon. I cannot praise the the staff enough and, am so relieved she is now able to stay here on a permanent basis.
I have nothing but good things to say about Abbcross Nursing Home. All the staff have been amazingly kind and caring to my Dad and supporting me when things have been extremely difficult due to Dad having dementia. The chef is an amazing cook who produces some fabulous meals for the residents and homemade cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls etc! Two iother members of staff are great at explaining procedures and supporting the families of their residents. All the carers (too many to mention) are so caring and kind and empathetic with the residents. They work hard to make sure they are all comfortable and all needs are met. My Dad has been happy here and that is all that matters. It has been an easy transition from hospital to Abbcross and he seems settled and happy. Thank you Abbcross for everything!
My dad is very happy in his care home. The staff are friendly and caring. They are always accommodating and let Dad treat it as his home. When we have had any questions or concerns they have dealt with them straight away.
I have been a resident of Abbcross care home for a year now and can confirm a welcoming atmosphere from all the staff here who are very efficient in their care of the residents and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a good menu choice and the food is plentiful and nutritious and various delicious desserts that are very popular. There are well thought out activities in the communal lounge and one or two parties a year which the staff make a huge effort to make enjoyable. The garden is well maintained and a welcome place for residents to make the most of the fresh air in the fine weather
The staff are all caring, friendly and supportive. The manager leads a professionally kind team who, make everyone feel welcome. The pretty garden can be used by anyone and offers a breath of fresh air. It is good to sit and listen to the birds and watch the fish. As the members of the staff team, are usually the same they become trusted friends to the residents. Therefore this results usually, in a happy, friendly environment for the residents to live in. The residents are encouraged to regard Abbcross as their home and feel free to have family and friends visit at a time convenient to them. Visitors feel welcomed by the manager and staff at all times.
My mum came to Abbcross nursing home beginning of march in 2025, she came from the hospital, the care she gets is fantastic, mum is very happy loves the carers who will do anything you ask them to do. I can't recommend another home for her. Like to give a big thank you to all the staff for her care.
My Father has been cared for and treated like he is surrounded by friends and not in a care home. I personally feel like we are home from home when I visit. I have attended activities at the home and they are full of laughter and enjoyed by everyone. It is such a difficult time when you have to move from your home into care but this was not the case here.
Very caring staff who don't find anything to much trouble. Always a happy atmosphere when impacts on the patients. Cannot praise them enough. The staff always seem to be on point when it comes to the patients wellbeing. Always tell us if our father is not himself. My sister and I feel our father is safe in their care.
My mum loves the family feel of the Home all staff are very kind and friendly and food is very good and her room is lovely clean and bright. The garden is well maintained they have a greenhouse and most of the residents are encouraged in the planting and growing of the plants and vegetables
Abbcross Nursing Home in my eyes are the Gold standard in nursing care with compassion and kindness. My dear beloved mum spent her final 6 months here, she was safe secure, loved, clean, happy socialised and cared for, and we as a wider family could sleep at night knowing mum/nanny was safe. Her final weeks days and hours were handled with compassion, dignity, and great medical care and we were able to stay as much as we wanted and were looked after so kindly. Every member of staff care, I cannot champion this nursing home enough to anyone. I have great lasting memories of my mum's happy safe days here and am forever grateful.
My Mum has been so happy since being here. It's been a long time since we've seen her smile. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is great. I personally will be popping in to visit a few residents.
Mum spent her final days here. Thank goodness, such respect dignity and care, not only to Mum but the whole family. We cannot thank this home and the staff enough. Thank you.
My mum has Alzheimer's and was treated like family from the moment she went to Abbcross until the moment she left six weeks later. The large lounge with nearby food area is particularly welcoming for both residents and visitors. It is also where the nursing point is located. Family can visit any time which was very helpful indeed. Particularly impressive is the fun way that all different staff get involved in celebrating events. Thankfully, the manager patiently and regularly explained the discharge to assessment process, which as a family we really appreciated. All nursing, healthcare, housekeeping, catering, estates and work experience students were open to any questions I had. Nothing was too much trouble. Abbcross staff and management are open, friendly, professional and caring doing an invaluable job in an underappreciated sector. Well done, keep up the good work.
Absolutely amazing Nan was only there for a week before passing but the home and staff were absolutely incredible. She was treated with compassion and dignity right until the end. They are angels that work in there.
No complaints at all, very helpful, staff would recommend without a doubt.
The care has been amazing, the carers go above and beyond, always greeted with a smile. My mum was very happy and relaxed. The manager was very approachable, never too much trouble if you needed anything. The food was freshly cooked on the premises and a different option every week but always fish and chips on a Friday which my mum loved. All in all, I would definitely recommend this care home.
Abbcross may not be the fanciest nursing home in England, but it is quite likely the most friendly family run of its kind. All the staff are welcoming to residents and family alike. They treat residents as if they are their own parent of grandparents. The management seems to be always striving to improve their methods and facilities beyond the already high standards they offer. My mum's and my experience of the management and staff was a wonderful combination of compassion, professionalism and understanding from the moment we got there. The first thing Mum said when we'd settled in her room was 'I feel safe here, can I stay?' Sadly, they have a waiting list, so Mum can't stay beyond the assessment she was sent there for. All I can say is, if you can get your loved on in there, you will be delighted to know how well cared for they are.
