View Full Details of Barleycroft Care HomeMy sister, Olive, has been in the Barleycroft Care Home from July 2024. During that time, as next of kin, I have been kept informed of Olive's state of health and treatments proscribed by the visiting G.P. I have had good contact wth the staff when visiting the home, finding them informative to questions asked and in all, generally helpful. My sister seems happy in her situation and does not complain about how she is treated.
There is always a friendly welcome in the care home from reception, to staff. The place always smells fresh and clean, and the grounds are well maintained. There always seems to be lots going on for the residents.
Mum was made very welcome from the 1st day. Many thanks to all the carers/nurses on the 2nd floor, and the chefs. All staff understanding residents needs and very patient.
Very exited visiting your facity, services are excellent please keep it up. My visits with the residents son was exceptional. Thank you very much and many blessings to you and the organisation.
I have trust in the manager who follows up on things, which we have not always had in the past with previous managers. The general atmosphere is good the manager is very positive with a can do attitude. There is a proactive attitude from the carers on the floor - that has improved under the current management. I feel that my wife is well looked after. We are awaiting for the GP to refer to physio.
Throughout the time my mum has been at Barleycroft I have observed her being well cared for and treated with dignity and respect by the day staff. They are to be commended for he work they do in sometimes very challenging circumstances and with regard to my mum I can only say that she is cared for with love and humour and made to feel very valued, which is so important
The team look after my dad very well. They genuinely care and he's very happy.
Staff are excellent, keep the best interests of residents in mind. They do a very difficult job really well Possibly need more staff. Only negatives, perhaps better maintenance of rooms missing clothes, belongings etc.
Staff are very friendly & helpful. Always putting themselves out.

I find all the staff very welcoming when you first walk in front door it all looks very clean, and dinnertime always smells lovely and looks very nice have been to functions and there fetes VE Day even singalong been most enjoyable on all times. Staff work hard but always have time when you need a word with them.

We all know it's difficult putting Parents in a home! A. Everything I asked for was done in record speed, staff so very polite. B. IT SMELLS BEAUTIFUL...not bolied cabbage and wee. So hat's off to All Staff. C. Parents can refuse being cared for, getting everyone on side can be tricky. D. For us as children it is a big sigh of relief. E. I visited today, I had issues and concerns as we worry! No more....little concerned about what we can supply and what they do, one telephone call will sort that tomorrow. F. Extremely amiable, kind staff
I am very pleased with the care my mother has had over the last 2 years, her general health and wellbeing has improved. The staff have been exceptionally helpful and I am indebted to them.
I've been here for seven months, I have found that I feel better in myself. Staff have helped me to bring my sanity back. I feel that once I have a prosthetic leg, I will be good to go home. The new manager is very understanding and helpful. She is one of the only people in charge I have found it's easy to talk to.
Overall, I find the care received has been fair to good. The management team find care easy to get on with, polite and helpful.
My amazing mum has been a resident here for the last 11 years. We have a great team of nurses, carers and managers. I visit Mum daily and participate in her care, and they work as a team with me! I have no issues with the home, and to be honest, some carers are incredible! Mum being here has enabled me to continue working and get quality time with Mum as well. Food is always good with great choices and when Mum was eating solid food, I used to join her for a lovely Sunday roast lunch! And for only £1.00! Mum is 97 now and on a puree diet, but they cater for her with no problem!
If you really care about your loved ones please do not send them here, my mum was a resident there for a few weeks and I can honestly say, that the home was filthy dirty, you wipe your feet on the way out. They had mice in residents' rooms, the food was like slop and the majority of the staff were rude, the residents were not properly cared for, minimal activities, residents spent most of the time in their rooms like prisoners. Even Social Services were aware of the mice being in the home back in October 2023. I am so glad I moved my mum out of here.
The staff were always helpful and friendly towards my father and family.
