View Full Details of Galsworthy House Nursing HomeMy husband recently stayed at the home on respite and we was very pleased with the care. The home itself is very homely in comparison to some of the others in the area and you get the feeling it's a home not a facility.
We placed our mother into Galsworthy House Kingston for a weeks respite. We phoned nearly everyday to check on her welfare and the staff were pleasant and updated us on our mother's health and the activities she had participated in. On collecting her from Galsworthy House Kingston, she looked happy and stated that everyone (staff and residents) were in her own words; 'lovely'. I would recommend labelling personal items or taking images, as on leaving we found clothing packed into our mother's suitcase that did not belong to her.
My grandfather has just moved in and my family just loved the community. It was so clean but also really friendly and all the staff were just so nice and welcoming. We just love the care home and everything that comes with it.
My father broke his leg and we needed to find respite care for him quickly. Having visited another care home we found the team at Galsworthy to be very kind, helpful and responsive, giving him a choice of rooms and accommodating his needs as quickly as they could. I have so much respect for the entire team at Galsworthy, for their warmth, patience and humour in what is clearly a complex and demanding job. I was very moved that so many of the team came to wish my Dad a happy birthday and presented him with a beautiful cake before he left. We always felt welcome and they have been a big support to my sister and I in what has been a difficult time.
After a bad experience in another care home, Galsworthy has been a breath of fresh air. The staff treat mum & dad as the individuals they are even though they both have dementia. The carers are kind & engage with mum dad and the entertainment team always keep them involved in the activities. It's a relief to see mum & dad settled and happy.
My mother stayed in the home for 4 months but was an unwilling resident. My mother was complimentary about her room, the food and especially the staff. My mother would have liked to have more freedom and regular opportunities to spend time outside. Overall, she was well looked after .
My mother arrived at Galsworthy House at the end of January. My sister and I have been amazed at how easily my mother has settled in and adapted to the routine. The staff, especially the carers have been fantastic at putting up with the rudeness of my mother and ensuring she is content. My appreciation goes out to those who work with the residents with dementia and admiration.
My wife stayed at Galsworthy House for two months while I was recovering from an operation. She thoroughly enjoyed all the care and attention she received, and even said she was quite happy to stay there. Since returning home, she has been much easier to look after, presumably due to the regular habits that the staff instilled during her stay. I was very happy with the whole affair, and would certainly recommend Galsworthy House to anyone that needs care for their loved ones. A big thank you to all the staff.
My husband was having a month of respite care The staff were polite and caring I do think he was left too much on his own in his room and was not stimulated enough I therefore had to take up this job which didn't give Me the respite I needed
My mother initially stayed at Galsworthy House for respite and was very happy there. She returned home, but when her health deteriorated and needed 24-hour care, I had no hesitation in her returning to Galsworthy House on a permanent basis to be cared for by professional medical staff and carers. I felt rest assured that Mum would be looked after. The staff and management are so caring and Mum has been made to feel at home. Mum has a good rapport with the carers, nurses and hospitality team and nothing is ever too much trouble to ensure mum is happy and comfortable. There are daily activities available and Mum enjoys playing Bingo, which is something she looks forward to twice a week. It's lovely to have the coffee lounge where we can sit with Mum during our visits, have a cup of tea and spend quality time with her. The care home is kept very clean. Overall I am very pleased with the standard of care Mum is receiving.
My mum originally came to Galsworthy House for respite after an illness. She settled well and was cared for by all the staff. Since October 2024 Mum returned and became a resident, I feel fortunate to have found her a care home within a caring environment. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help in any way they can. Some even say "It's like being with my grandparents". I feel happy leaving my mum in such a warm and caring place. There is a lovely coffee lounge where you can help yourself to coffee, pastries, biscuits and fruit. We use these facilities often as Mum loves to come down and chat and enjoy a cup of tea with her family. She enjoys many activities especially playing bingo with the other residents and loves joining in with singing. Overall, I and my mum are very happy. Thank you.
The care at Galsworthy is excellent, all the staff are so kind and genuinely look after residents like they are at home. I feel so reassured knowing that my beloved Mum is safe, well fed and properly cared for. When you can no longer care for a parent yourself as their needs increase and they need 24-hour care in a warm and loving environment, Galsworthy is second to none. You couldn't find a kinder more hard-working team of nurses, carers and overall team.
My mother stayed at Galsworthy House for respite after a hip operation. The staff who cared for her went above and beyond to make sure she was well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. Her room was clean, spacious with a lovely view over Richmond Park. On a few occasions, we went down to the coffee lounge where you can have tea, coffee or hot chocolate. There is also a selection of cakes. Thank you so much for making my mother so comfortable during her recovery. Kind regards.
I recently stayed at Galsworthy House after a minor operation for convalescence. I knew from the moment I met the manager that it would be the ideal place for me. She was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff were most friendly and efficient. The care and facilities were excellent. The food was great and the chef willingly prepared alternatives for me due to my food intolerances. There were various daily activities. The icing on the cake for me was the 'cafe' where I could help myself to a latte ' from the machine and a biscuit or some fruit and curl up in a very comfortable armchair with a book.
My mother is visiting The UK. She tripped and fell and was rushed to the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital she was admitted for respite care to Galworthy House for three weeks. The care is exemplary! There is kindness and empathy and my mother is being looked after by caring and professional staff. They are helpful and always there to help when needed. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone who wants their loved ones looked after with the same compassion and care you would give them!
My 95-year-old mother has been a resident at Galsworthy House since February 2024. She has been provided excellent care at Galsworthy. The staff are caring, friendly and cheerful. Her room is always kept very clean. It is never an easy decision to move a loved one but Galsworthy has surpassed our expectations.
My mother has been in the nursing home for six weeks and has settled in well. The staff are all very nice and helpful. There are activities and entertainment daily.
My mother spent the last two weeks of her life here and I was very happy with the way the nurses and carers looked after and respected her. Her room was bright and airy and had patio doors leading onto a terrace area. (It would have been nicer if the pots had been planted out.) I arrived a few minutes after my mother died, but two carers with there holding her hand and reading to her which was a comfort to both her and me. The staff are all very kind.
Friendly and comfortable. Homely.
Our family could not be happier with the wonderful care provided to our mother who has significant medical needs. The home is very clean, and comfortable with great facilities for residents and family members. My young daughter was unwilling to visit Mum in hospital, but loves it at the home and is very happy that her grandma is being so well cared for. The staff are meticulous in their attention to Mum’s personal and medical needs. They seem to have endless patience when feeding her, and administering personal care. The team members we deal with have been warm and empathetic, providing support to Mum and emotional support and guidance to us. They keep us up to date, and tell us what to expect, which reaffirms our impression that they are well experienced and very skilled. The atmosphere is warm, and I can see every effort is made to treat the residents with care, dignity and respect. I will always be grateful for the way the home has looked after us all at this important time.
