Galsworthy House has compassionate, kind, caring, patient and skilled carers and nurses. This was the most important criteria for me when I was looking for somewhere for my husband. I know he is safe in their hands. The whole team are excellent - including the domestic staff and activities team. I would
like to see the availability of more specialist equipment - there is only one Sara Stedy and this means it can delay transfer of my husband and other residents which is not ideal.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Galsworthy HouseThank you for taking the time to provide your wonderful feedback regarding Galsworthy House.
We are so pleased to hear that you know your husband is safe in the home and that you find the staff to be compassionate, kind, caring, patient and skilled. The team pride themselves on delivering compassionate and attentive care and this will mean a lot to them as they continue this work.
We are sorry to read of your concerns regarding the access to specialist equipment. Following discussion with the Home Manager, we understand that a new Sara Steady has now been purchased, and the home are awaiting it's delivery.
Thankyou again for your wonderful feedback.

My Mum has been at Galsworthy house since November 2024, and we could not be more delighted with the care and support she receives. Mum is known and valued as a person, and staff go out of the way to recognise Mum's preferences in her daily care. There is a lively and varied daily programme of activities
that help Mum feel engaged with staff and residents and with the local community. When Mum has needed nursing care, this has been attentive and thorough, whilst respecting Mum' s dignity. Mum considers Galsworthy House to be her home and is happy to invite family members to join her for a coffee, a meal or a stroll on the patio. As a family member, I am always kept well informed about Mum's health and day-to-day care. And I receive a warm welcome as part of the Galsworthy community. When little issues arise, I am particularly impressed that no matter who I approach, that member of staff will help - or find the person who can. I am delighted Mum is so happy and well-cared-for.

My mother joined Galsworthy Jan 25. Most of the regular staff definitely had the measure of her - not always the easiest guest! They treated her with dignity, kindness and patience, while respecting her quirks. All staff were very positive, encouraging and supportive.
Her medical needs were met and
feedback maintained. The carers always ensured she had her books during the day (her spectacles did go missing occasionally!) She was always warm, comfortable and well fed - particularly enjoying afternoon cakes. She chose not to partake in activities but there was always something on offer.
Sadly, my mother passed away Jan 26. It is with gratitude I can say that she died peacefully in Galsworthy and was looked after with exceptional compassion and genuine care by the staff, who really helped me and my family members to cope with the whole experience.
We feel fortunate that we selected Galsworthy as it provided a final year for her which was very much as she would have wanted. Thankyou.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Galsworthy HouseWe are so sorry for your loss. As a daughter of a resident, I can't praise Glasworthy Care Home highly enough. The staff are compassionate, respectful + truly care about residents as individuals. My mum is treated with dignity, warmth and kindness. The home is calm. clean + welcoming. Knowing my mum is so well cared for gives me
complete peace of mind. I would recommend Glasworthy to other families.

Mum has been at Galsworthy House for just over a year now. During this time the team have been amazing with her - she has good spells and some bad ones and they have looked after her through it all with so much care, compassion and kindness. The team (every single one of them) are an absolute delight,
nothing is too much trouble. The communication to me when mum had a fall (twice) from Robert and Linda was excellent and Andrea (Clinical lead) has been an absolute rock.
I looked at quite a few homes before settling on Galsworthy House for mum, but I am very happy with her being there and have full confidence in them taking care of my mum.
Reply from Nicole Howarth, on behalf of the team at Galsworthy HouseThank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! My aunt was transferred from a 7 week hospital stay for end of life care at Galsworthy House.
A beautiful building both inside & out, her room was calm, comfortable with lovely big windows letting the sunshine in. It was a fitting retreat for her to live out her final days.
The staff were so caring
& respectful for her yet made sure to engage myself & the family in more upbeat conversations. Just what was needed to buoy our spirits in a stressful situation.
We saw the home really well decorated for Halloween, the staff were in fancy dress which added to the fun. Poppy pride was displayed the following week, I'm sure the residents appreciated all the effort that was made.
The newsletter detailed many more daily events, interesting activities for the residents is obviously high on the list of priorities at Galsworthy.
I'm very pleased we had the opportunity for auntie to be looked after by people who go the extra mile. Well done & thank you to all the staff. :)))

This was my wife's second visit to Galsworthy House, and again, she loved it. She thinks all the staff are so lovely, all the tea and cakes are wonderfull, and would be quite happy to stay there for much longer. Since returning home, she likes to remind me how she used to get soup, and a main meal,
and pudding too! I can't compete !

We placed our mother into Galsworthy House Kingston for a weeks respite. We phoned nearly everyday to check on her welfare and the staff were pleasant and updated us on our mother's health and the activities she had participated in. On collecting her from Galsworthy House Kingston, she looked happy
and stated that everyone (staff and residents) were in her own words; 'lovely'. I would recommend labelling personal items or taking images, as on leaving we found clothing packed into our mother's suitcase that did not belong to her.

My father broke his leg and we needed to find respite care for him quickly. Having visited another care home we found the team at Galsworthy to be very kind, helpful and responsive, giving him a choice of rooms and accommodating his needs as quickly as they could.
I have so much respect for the entire
team at Galsworthy, for their warmth, patience and humour in what is clearly a complex and demanding job.
I was very moved that so many of the team came to wish my Dad a happy birthday and presented him with a beautiful cake before he left. We always felt welcome and they have been a big support to my sister and I in what has been a difficult time.

My mother initially stayed at Galsworthy House for respite and was very happy there. She returned home, but when her health deteriorated and needed 24-hour care, I had no hesitation in her returning to Galsworthy House on a permanent basis to be cared for by professional medical staff and carers. I
felt rest assured that Mum would be looked after. The staff and management are so caring and Mum has been made to feel at home. Mum has a good rapport with the carers, nurses and hospitality team and nothing is ever too much trouble to ensure mum is happy and comfortable. There are daily activities available and Mum enjoys playing Bingo, which is something she looks forward to twice a week. It's lovely to have the coffee lounge where we can sit with Mum during our visits, have a cup of tea and spend quality time with her. The care home is kept very clean. Overall I am very pleased with the standard of care Mum is receiving.

My mum originally came to Galsworthy House for respite after an illness. She settled well and was cared for by all the staff.
Since October 2024 Mum returned and became a resident, I feel fortunate to have found her a care home within a caring environment. The staff are friendly and go out of their
way to help in any way they can. Some even say "It's like being with my grandparents". I feel happy leaving my mum in such a warm and caring place. There is a lovely coffee lounge where you can help yourself to coffee, pastries, biscuits and fruit. We use these facilities often as Mum loves to come down and chat and enjoy a cup of tea with her family.
She enjoys many activities especially playing bingo with the other residents and loves joining in with singing. Overall, I and my mum are very happy.
Thank you.

The care at Galsworthy is excellent, all the staff are so kind and genuinely look after residents like they are at home. I feel so reassured knowing that my beloved Mum is safe, well fed and properly cared for. When you can no longer care for a parent yourself as their needs increase and they need 24-hour

My mother stayed at Galsworthy House for respite after a hip operation.
The staff who cared for her went above and beyond to make sure she was well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble.
Her room was clean, spacious with a lovely view over Richmond Park. On a few occasions, we went down to
the coffee lounge where you can have tea, coffee or hot chocolate. There is also a selection of cakes.
Thank you so much for making my mother so comfortable during her recovery.
Kind regards.

I recently stayed at Galsworthy House after a minor operation for convalescence. I knew from the moment I met the manager that it would be the ideal place for me. She was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff were most friendly and efficient. The care and facilities were excellent. The food was great
and the chef willingly prepared alternatives for me due to my food intolerances. There were various daily activities.
The icing on the cake for me was the 'cafe' where I could help myself to a latte '
from the machine and a biscuit or some fruit and curl up in a very comfortable armchair with a book.

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.584 for Galsworthy House is calculated as follows: ( (189 Excellents x 5) + (96 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.584
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Galsworthy House is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
