Very good staff who have looked after Mother in difficult and challenging situations. Mother has Alzheimer's. Some excellent hep in getting Mother to hospital to have x-ray after fall (fracture). The staff have also been a great help to myself as it has been very difficult watching my mother deteriorate
with Alzheimer's.

Galsworthy House is a beautiful period property overlooking Richmond Park. I viewed the home and was greeted by a very well informed gentleman, customer services manager and a kind and helpful Receptionist. After a good look around I chose a room for my Sister. On moving in for our respite stay, I
was greeted very warmly. The senior team took time to ask me and my sister what her needs were. We met the new Manager and a very experienced Deputy. My sister received excellent care during her stay. I would recommend Galsworthy House.

Galsworthy House is a lovely building, well presented, with break-taking views over Richmond Park.

The Manager takes an active interest in the well-being of each individual, is sensitive to needs and is always ready to listen if there are any problems. I have really appreciated how visitors are

always welcomed, at any time, and the staff are very friendly, helpful, kind and caring.

Following insertion of a pacemaker, I was told I must not use my arm for six weeks. My husband and I are in our late 80's. I am his carer and accustomed to doing everything at home. Knowing I might use the arm inadvertently I decided we should both go for some convalescent care for the first few days.
I found Galsworthy House on the web and was excited about it as they were able to take us both together and everything has come right up to our expectations and hopes.

The care, friendliness and personal attention from everyone have been exceptional, the room and cooking are excellent and the house and grounds are lovely. The library is a marvellous facility.

My mother has been at Galsworthy House for c. 3 years and is very happy there. Probably the most positive characteristic is the warmth and friendliness of all the staff, and the caring atmosphere they and the management create. The food is also well above the standard one would expect in an institution
of this sort. The home is based in an historic building with lots of character, and recent refurbishment work has enhanced further the surroundings and facilities.

From a personal point of view, I find I am always made welcome when I visit and feel my mother is happy and well looked-after. On the odd occasion I have expressed any concern or asked for something to be done, it has always been taken seriously and dealt with.

I would be very happy to recommend Galsworthy House.

Galsworthy House has wonderful staff who are always helpful, kind and caring. This applies to the carers, who interact with and really do care for the patient, and the management team who go to great lengths to ensure both patient and relatives are happy with the service provided.
My husband settled
in extremely quickly and, despite his dementia, seems very happy and comfortable with everything being done for him. As he has other medical problems it is comforting to know that the nursing staff keep a close eye on these and react promptly if a situation changes.
The food is tasty and plentiful and my husband is kept scrupulously clean throughout the day and night.
The ethos here is 'patient led', which means the care staff react to the patient's needs and don't insist on things being done to a rigid timetable. Visitors are always welcome at any time, which is most reassuring.

Lovely experience visiting this care home. I've been looking after my client here for 4 years. Staff are brilliant, well trained and thorough. Even with change, refurbishment etc it's a lovely place to be and for those who come in for respite, it is a home away from home.

Mum arrived here in October 2016. She came straight from hospital and was in a very bad way. Almost comatosed, not walking, needing a hoist, not eating etc. She is now very well. The best she has been for over a year. The staff have been so good to her, getting her back on her feet and making her happy.
They have sorted her medication and she is eating so well. Thanks to the Manager who works so hard and all the staff on the first floor.

My Uncle stayed at Galsworthy House for nearly 2 years. They provided excellent quality of care, especially challenging with a man who was very independent until his early 90's. He clearly felt safe, enjoyed the food, care & attention very much. For his entire stay, he was resident on the mezzanine
floor which is managed by a member of staff who was utterly superb. His patience & kindness to my Uncle was unfailing & it was clear my Uncle grew very fond of him which was lovely to see. It was lovely to think we did not have to worry about him & if there were any concerns over his health they always reached out immediately. The Deputy Manager has also been fantastic, providing support & guidance over the last 2 years. My Uncle sadly passed away last month, he passed away peacefully & with dignity at the age of 93, you can't really ask for more than that.

My wife has been in Galsworthy House for about two and a half months, I visit most days so I seen life there at first hand. From the manager down to incomparable activities lady who organises the events, games, entertainments etc. Every one of the staff gives the most excellent care to the residents,
interacting with them and showing kindness which is really quite touching. The lovely setting of Galsworthy House with it's Victorian splendour helps to make this a very special home. My wife is happy, and know that she is being well looked after I can sleep well at night.

I would like to write about the incredible care that the staff at Galsworthy House give to my mother. She has lived here since June and from the start she has felt at home, which is primarily due to the care and attention she is given. My father visits every day, and is warmly welcomed. It is the small
details that show the great care, the white cotton tablecloths and silver cutlery, the fresh flowers and smiles from all the staff. I have no doubt that my mother is being in the best place for her, and I have recommended Galsworthy House to my friends who are considering care homes in the area.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.584)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.584) out of 10 for Galsworthy House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.584 for Galsworthy House is calculated as follows: ( (189 Excellents x 5) + (96 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.584
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Galsworthy House is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
